"Really?" Lillian asked, covering her lips with her hand to hide the smile from coming out.
"Yes. I know that it must have been horrible and terrifying. I did not do it with bad intentions. No, I can't say that." he raked his hands through his hair as he sighed. "I am the worst."
"Really now?" Lillian said, looking at roman from the corner of her eyes who also had an amused smile on his face.
"Yes. You have been nothing but kind to us and this is what I suggested the king should do to you."
"All his other fiancées, were you the o-"
"No!" he said quickly, looking up at Lillian. "You need to believe me on this, Saintess. I never encouraged him to give them the potion. Please believe me."
Lillian stared at his big brown eyes sparkling up at her.
