"What is this about?" Lillian asked, touching the marking.
It looks like a very intricate embroidery on her arm created using a very fine blue thread.
"The mark of betrothal," Ray said, looking at the mark with Vaille. "It is real."
"No." Vaille looked at Lillian, eyes wide. "Do not tell me that you gave him your name, Lillian."
"I was only introducing myself," Lillian said, shrugging. "It is what I was taught to do on meeting someone new."
"She was kidnapped by him, your highness," Ray whispered to Vaille. "He also admitted that he was going to kill her. Giving her name to him was the last of her worries."
Vaille touched the marking and turned to the man sitting there nonchalantly, "This was done without her consent."
"She should have known about this." He said, "There is no one that does not know about this. Unless, there is something she has to hide from everyone else."
