The Kingdom of Lurais, a large but poor kingdom with an almost absent King and powerful Ministers. Though magic is prominent all over the world, ever since Lurais closed itself off, they have been imposing ridiculous laws and regulations.
But it wasn't always like that. The kingdom was once flourishing and very rich.
The people don't see the King in long periods of time because he is always off to an expedition or another. From before, he would leave most of his duties to those courtiers.
No one knows if the King is alive or not but they have seen the princess occasionally from little visits to the palace and they have a soft spot towards her.
Even with the King's constant absence, the people do not mind it too much. They were able to work and get food on their plate so they didn't have any problems. Until one day, everything changed.
