We rushed into the first elevator, inside was Arishia, two attendants, and four others, and I. The others ran towards the door, some though ensnared by the hands of the infected dragging them down and biting or eating them. One of the four slammed their fist on the close button. Once it started to close, someone got to the door and kept it open. It was full as it was and he was trying to get crammed in. The infected were getting closer by the second. They would get in.
The one whop desperately did the button smashing kicked him out and got it closed finally. The shouts from the outside were bad. He hit floor 6 and we waited. Once we got up to the 6th floor, the barricading started. Saying that they got here this quick means that they all followed us. They knew that one infected might not be able to kill us alone. And they were correct.
We scrambled to barricade every possible area. I sent two more to go up to the seventh floor and barricade there. On each floor, there are 3 or so vending machines. So we have very limited food and limited money. "We need to only buy snacks and such that aren't expensive but they are filling." One shook his head and took off a bag he had been carrying. It seemed pretty heavy. I guess he is most likely a college student since he looks young and well, he has a fucking backpack.
He threw the backpack at the vending machine and it bounced right off. He did it again, and it yet again bounced off. Third time, and it bounced back along with a small cradck now in the glass. "Everyone, get back to baricading; Let him do what he needs to do to help us out." Everyone getting back into gear made sure nothing should be able to get through. The man at the vending machine had made some more progress to the glass. There were bigger cracks and a chip or two were chunked off.
"How much longer till you think you can get that cracked?" I asked, my stomach vamished. It hadn't been that long since I ate anything, but the food in the cells at the police department wasn't really filling. It really just fed us so we wouldn't die more than anything. Speaking of the police department, I wonder how the others are doing. We were only there a few days and not really long enough to be sent to a prison, and it seemed as if they didn't have standardized orange jumpsuits that a prisoner would wear. So if they got out, they wouldn't be treated as criminals necessarily.
I looked around once I was done in my thoughts to Arishia. She was nowhere to be found, so that worried me a little. The infected also weren't trying to use the elevator, so they were playing the long game, going throught the stairs, or giving up. Those are the three ones most would expect atleast. We are dealing with what you could call zombie type infected superhumans. So underestimating these bastards isn't a good move.
I left the area and started to search for Arishia while seeing if the infected were going to attempt to climb up the hotel. Thats not the smartest plan, but they don't have to worry about it that much. They all went from the average Joe to an olympic medalist's strength and speed if not exceeding that. Not only will it showcase their evolution, but it gives insight to just exactly how monstrous they are.
A ear-rupturing sound came from behind, glass flung everywhere. I turned around fast, my eyes darting meeting those of the Discords. I was right, they came from the windows. Whoever was leading them is surely one of Shoki's or Liam's underlings. This is worse than I thought, thinking now though. If they have underlings like this, that must infer that they had a deeper background than I had thought. Its possible they had been leaders of a soshiki hanzai gurupu. And if not leaders, higher ups. My creations are enough, but mixed with their intelligence and evil intent, we are dealing with truly sinister people.
"Arishia!" I shouted, turning back around, sprinting yet again. I ran as fast as I could, I didn't have much time either, so I could only peer around every corner for a mere second. I am one of the fastest people in the world due to this, but it only activates when I'm scared as fuck. Its not very useful and shows just how much of a coward I truly am. My eyes shot everywhere frantically searching for her.
Wait, why am I putting all this effort towards trying to help her? She never really did anything for us. She caused us trouble, tried to kill us, resisted. But she has that ability that makes it worth using. And she has started to resist even less and even began to work along with us. In such a short time too. I feel like it's a trap, she has been too fast to be the one to lend a hand. And the few days which we were in that prison, I have to remember some of them are probably amazing actors. So trying to fool us like that wasn't gonna be all too hard. They were planning from the start.
I absolutely hate that I fell for such a trap, thankfully I realized early on though. This means that I can get out without having to worry about anyone. I ran down the corridor of doors. I ran as fast as I could, my heart was exploding out of my chest, and my head drew a huge migraine of all a sudden. I started to stumble, losing my footing as the pain tore my body from the inside. The pain intensified with every passing second. I could barely stand, the air became thick and hard. The pressure took me down to my knees. I was sweating hard and heat started to form around as well.
A liking sound behind me caught my attention. I slowly turned my head to see what it had been. And none else than the Succubus. "S-so th-then Ari-shia. You tr-trying to trick us?" She looked down at me confused. Her confusion turned to distraught, and she reached down to my arm and grabbed it. She lifted it up before helping me to my feet, helping me walk. This wasn't good, she had a perfect chance to do anything, and she comes to try to screw around with our trust even more.
She dragged me, a door was open. I looked at where the Discords would have been coming from. And like it had been for me, they were all on the floor, groveling. The second my hand passed through the door-frame, it exploded with power. The lightness of it as well, the speed it had as it flew upwards. my body fell in, but it felt slower than how it felt just a second ago. As if I gained faster speed than before. Arishia seemed the same speed as me though. So it was just the flash-lag from the weight and such I had just succumbed. I stood up, but it seemed closer to what a jump would rather feel like.
I stumbled trying to keep balance on my own two feet alone. Everything was fucking done before it even started, I'm her hostage now, we have an army of Discord clawing here inch by fucking inch. "You and Shoki planned this all out, didn't you?" She turned around with a slightly angered look, "You think I did this to try and fucking kill you!" I tried to keep my balance again while standing, "Yes! No one is that trusting that god damn fast!" She had an angry glare as she stared at me. "Are you still working with the Discord bastards! We should have never trusted you dammit!"
She stood there, her face beet red. "How dare you say that! We took some on together. So what if its a short time! We still survived, that trap out there was for them, not you!" My veins were roaring with boiling blood, "Sure it was! You knew I was down here as well. And if you meant for them to be for the Discords, then you expected me to die quickly!" She slapped me hard in the face, "Bullshit! I thought you were the floor up!" I laughed, hard. So hard I started to choke. "Sure you fuckin did. Sure you thought I was on the next god damn floor. And what about all those bastards in the hall? How much longer can you stand to keep up that act?" She was clearly worn out via her perfuse sweating and half limp stance she stood in. I get that her magic takes out some of her energy since she has to focus in order for it to work.
"Do you know the only reason why your still with us?" I shouted. I was talking out of myself ass now. I was basically rambling on for no good reason. "Because you have your fuckin' magic shit. Your anime powers or whatever the hell you wanna call them!" She blushed for a moment, before returning to the face she was currently wearing. "You prick! I helped you. Without me you would be dead!" She had a point, but those only happened because Shoki learned that we had gotten to her. If she hadn't been with it in the first place, we would have had a lot less hell to pay.
"Remember! Your the one who was under Shoki. It's your fault for getting us in those!" She opened her mouth pointing at me, a fierce fire burning in her eyes. The longer she stood there, words not being able to escape, that raging fire slowly died with it. "Fine, yes. I fucked it up ok. I know, and once he found out I lost. He said I had no more use, so what else am I gonna do? Go twiddle my thumbs in the great circus of fucking failures!" I sighed, "fine, we are both at fucking fault then." The two of us didn't smile (or make out like in those stupid fucking humour horror movies and shows. This is real life, we have greater things to worry about than your damned fetishes with watching the characters do that. And yes I did just break your fourth wall to stop you from even thinking that) or anything. We just had a short nod and looked at the door.
"There is another staircase going up to the next floor, its farther down though. How much time you have left before your magic shit breaks?" she looked at me with a questioned look. "All I did was put the heater to max, and I erased myself from their site for just a few seconds when I tapped them. You seemed to be in the midst too though. That is most likely why it affected you as well. Magic is a double edged sword. It's powerful, but it has limited uses and it's beyond difficult to learn how to do it well. This extent shouldn't even be possible really." That last sentence is what got me the most. An unprecidented power, and it's beyond unstoppable in most aspects.
How we would take on this, I have no fucking clue. I have an idea though for how to go against it like before when we met a few hours ago at that restaurant or diner. Name it how ever the hell you want. This one possible way is, to try and break the magic. Getting hurt ourselves usually doesn't work, so we would have to do something to her. And that for me is, a rubber bullet or airsoft gun. This is the only way possible. Otherwise, we would die. For this time around though, we had to make sure she doesn't get hurt for the sake of that magic.
I swung the door open and with a leaping step made it into the hall. Wincing, I was prepared for the huge gravitational boost that her magic simulated. I felt light as usual though, I'm not gonna ask though. Or not now at least. I turned away from where the Discords were, whom of which were still on the ground grasping away to get to us. I ran, Arishia behind me. "We will finish this argument later. Ok." Sounds good."She responded. It was enough to understand that we were still in the midst of a huge war between ourselves so far.
Mid-thought, I look outside a window. The devastation was beyond compare. It was a small area where it had happened. People were getting killed or getting turned in Discords. "Arishia... you need to fucking look at this now. About two or three hundred Discords spread thorughtout the range of maybe two miles. This may see a little, but for what we are up against. It makes it look like the small platoon that made it in here is just fucking childsplay.
"Shoki, that son of a bitch is gonna die one way or another."
