Chapter 251 - What you are

As soon as she came to, Aria knew she was going to collapse, and maybe never wake up again. That was exactly what happened.

As soon as Vincent turned his head to look at Aria, he saw her sitting on the ground. And the next instant, he was very surprised to see her collapse and her head hit the ground. He sighed as he made his way to Aria, lying on the ground, limping a little due to the wounds Aria had given him just before she collapsed.

Vincent mumbled as he stared at Aria's figure, "I should kill you for all you have done, and what you are. But. . . . ." he made a sad face and muttered, "What you have done I admire a lot. I'm impressed and even a bit scared of you little girl. And what you are. . . . . " he let out a huge breath and continued, "Is my good friend's daughter."

Vincent bowed his head and closed his eyes deep in thought for a few seconds. And when he opened them and looked at the unconscious Aria, there was such sadness in his blue eyes that would have made even Aria wonder what she had done to deserve so much regret from the person who was going to kill her.

But that moment of indecisiveness was what saved Aria's life.

Just as Vincent was about to deliver the finishing blow, his head snapped towards his right. However tired or hurt, Vincent was still a master wind-bendor and always kept an unconscious watch over his surroundings. He cursed and cast one last look at Aria. "You really are a lot more powerful than we assumed. I shudder to think what kind of chaos she will bring to the world. But it's probably her destiny." Vincent mumbled to himself as he quickly flew away from Aria.

His timing was perfect, as the next moment, a group of people came into view. They were all wind-bendors and were flying with a high speed just a few inches above the ground. At the head of the group, was the commander-in-chief of the water kingdom's army, Joseph and Helen's father, Mr. Scott.

Mr. Scott landed with his group beside Aria, he quickly called for a medic upon seeing her condition. While the medic came with the rest of the soldiers on horse-back, Mr. Scott closed his eyes to scout the area around. He opened his eyes just as the rest of the men approached and said, "I can sense another powerful wind bendor somewhere close by. Pietro, take your men and follow traces of his bending. They're slight, he's good. Be careful."

"Dr. Lewis, check Aria's wounds and administer whatever first-aid is needed." he said to the medic who had just come running. "Six of you, stay with Dr. Lewis and assist him wherever he needs it. The rest of you, come. We're going to check out this hideout." All the men nodded and they quickly got to their own works.

Mr. Scott sighed as he returned from the hideout to where Aria lay. "Dead. All dead. I wonder what happened here." "How's her condition?" he added, seeing Dr. Lewis approaching him.

Dr. Lewis spoke in a grave voice, "Her injuries are a lot and severe. Especially her burns and broken bones."
