Chapter 238 - She's perfect

Aria lightly cleared her throat, which seemed to bring Edmond out of his thoughts. He looked around the room and spoke with a sigh, "You didn't have to go so overboard you know."

"Well, maybe you should train your fighters not to annoy your prisoners." Aria replied, rolling her eyes. It felt so good to be able to actually do that.

"They don't usually have to worry about that," Edmond spoke as all the people lying on the ground gently began to float and slowly flew out of the room.

Once they were out, Edmond stared straight into Aria's black eyes and muttered, "You actually are too much like her. A quick-temper, but so kind."

"What part of beating your people half to death was kind?" Aria asked with narrowed eyes. Edmond replied, a smile playing on his lips, "The part where you didn't actually beat them to death. And the part where you avoided their vital organs."

Aria raised her eyebrows upon hearing this. So he had noticed, he was rather good.

"I have to say I'm impressed. " Edmond continued, "Causing destruction of this kind, and not killing one of them."

"They can't be interrogated if they're dead." Aria replied, she continued as Edmond opened his mouth, cutting him off, "Can we talk abut our last demand? I didn't actually come here to have a chat."

Edmond let out a laugh and spoke, "A bit hasty, aren't we? But I suppose that's to be expected, you did come here to save her after all." He stood up and walked towards Aria to untie her, but she was already free and stood up the next instant.

Edmond suppressed a smile as he led Aria through the hideout she had gotten too familiar with, to Helen's room on the top floor.

On the way, Edmond weirdly continued to murmur to himself. He spoke things like, "A lot of raw talent. Definitely more than either of us." . . . . . . . "A bit too kind. But nothing that can't be fixed." . . . . . . . . . "A rule-breaker. Definitely a plus point." . . . . . .

"She'll do perfectly. Yes. She's perfect." Edmond muttered as he opened the door to Helen's room and led Aria in.

Helen cowered in fear upon hearing the door open and curled herself and slid closer to the wall. Seeing this, Aria's temper flared again and she would definitely have lost it, if Edmond had not spoken.

"Helen dear. Look who it is. It's your best friend." he spoke with a jolly voice.

Helen slowly sat up and spoke uncertainly, "Aria?"

All of Aria's anger vanished as she realized the first thing she had to do, get Helen away from this shit-hole. "Yes, it's me Helen. Everything will be fine." Aria spoke with her most soothing voice as she ran towards Helen.

The latter leaped out of her bed and Aria caught her in her arms and the two sunk down on the floor, grasped in each other's embrace.

"Oh Helen. . . . . . It'll all be fine now. I'm here. We'll be fine now." Aria muttered as she stroked Helen's head.

"Calm under pressure. Perfect!!" Aria heard Edmond mutter and turned to glare at him. He gave a fatherly apologetic smile and spoke, "I'm sorry. I'll leave you both to talk." And he went out, closing the door.
