The slash came down on the titan, and proceeded to cut the poor creature into two! And it didn't stop there, no! It went on to cut the entire island into two!
"Rokkai! You just overdid it again!!!!" Oldavin shouted, but it was too late.
One part of the island began to tilt, causing everything to begin falling towards the ground. The other half remained floating, somehow.
Everyone began to fall to the ground below, which wasn't actually ground per se. There was a vast ocean below the floating islands, and everyone, including the ancients, were falling towards it. The only person who remained floating in the air, was Rokkai. And he was floating there, watching his wife and friends falling down into the ocean. He wasn't worried at all.
"Haggarth! Paldin!" yelled Oldavin.
"It's time to prove your usefulness!" Mysa yelled after Oldavin.
Haggarth looked at Mysa before snorting, and then she put her hands together, while Paldin simply chuckled, before following suit.
A wall of water rose from the ocean, before turning into a giant lady. The lady was wearing a tiara, and she had a trident in her hands. After materializing, the water lady raised her trident and pointed at the falling island. A huge bubble floated up, and then encompassed everyone who was falling! Before the island hit the water, it suddenly stopped falling! Slowly but surely, it settled on the ocean, and the lady burst into small droplets which fell in a shower, causing a rainbow to appear.
The bubble floated down, and landed on the island, before popping and releasing everyone. Rokkai also floated down. In his hand, there was a crystal core which was purple in colour.
Everyone heaved a sigh of relief, including the undead zombie who thought he was going to lose a couple of breaths.
"Why is your friend so evil?" he asked, as he took in gulps of air.
"Which one?" asked Mysa.
"Both of them? One of them released that thing on us, and the other tried to drown us! What the hell is wrong with you people?"
"If it was you, what would you have done?" Oldavin asked.
Reeve remained quiet. He was too weak to do anything. Yes, he could use karate, but against that thing, an ura mawachi was completely useless. He doubted that thing could even feel anything.
"Will you teach me magic? I want to be strong, so I can at least protect myself, and those who I think are actually dear to me. Also, I want to be able to make a lightsaber like that guy, and use getsuga tensho … Also, has anyone ever tried making a spirit bomb? I could be the first person…"
"What are you talking about?" Oldavin asked, as everyone looked on incredulously.
"Did you lose your wits after all that?" Mysa piled onto his misery … or rather, embarrassment.
"Eh … never mind what I said at the end. However, I do want to learn magic seriously. That's the reason I went to his school. Not only did I not learn anything useful, the school ended up getting destroyed. I'm actually starting to regret that decision", Reeve pointed at Rokkai, who simply shrugged his shoulders.
Mysa laughed out loud, before saying, "You didn't really think you'll learn proper magic at that school, did you? If you did, then you're the fool!"
"Mysa!!!" Rokkai and Kyrra yelled simultaneously.
"What? Has anyone important ever been taught at your school?" asked Mysa.
Paldin and Diophas laughed, before Diophas shook his head. "I do not have time for this!" after saying this, he began walking away.
"Where is he going? We're on an island, is he going to fly like Ro--" he didn't get to finish his statement. That was because, the ocean parted like the red sea, and Diophas walked on dry land, before the ocean began to close up after him. "What is really wrong with you people? Someone summoned a titan, another cut an entire island into two using a lightsaber. The other one summoned a giant mermaid … What are you? Don't tell me you're just humans, because no human can do something like this!"
"How would you know?" Mysa chuckled.
"Can anyone explain to me why this part of the island is on the water, while the other part is still floating?" this was one of the things that puzzled Reeve.
"There are runes on each island which absorb mana from the surrounding, and use it to negate the effects of gravity. I guess the reason this part fell was because the rune was on the part that remained floating", Rokkai explained.
"Ah, that explains quite a lot. So, what happens now?"
"The seed will be taken to an island where he will be taught from the scriptures, how to use his own power. You will remain here with me, so that I can teach you how to use magic properly, and then you will leave to find the foundation stones. Summon Luminus, and ask her to heal your friend. Then once she's healed, you can go do whatever the god of death wanted you to do", Oldavin replied.
Soren nudged Reeve, before asking in a whisper, "A stranger comes to you, and says you are a hero who is supposed to save the world. They want you to come with them, will you or will you not follow them? How do you just trust them?"
"So, that's why you've been quiet? I am not a hero or a saint, but I can tell you a few things. One day, all of us are going to die, some sooner rather than later. The question is, when you go, do you want to be remembered by those who stay behind, or do you want to take everyone with you? If you can answer this question, that'll solve your trust problem", Reeve answered.
"Oh, I never thought of it that way", Soren smiled, as he began to see Reeve in a new light.
"I thought you were just an undead idiot, but you seem wise", Mysa chuckled.
"Hey have some respect! I've lived more lives than you!"
"More lives than me? Explain!"
"You don't need to know."
"Ahem. Shall we get started? Time is not on our side!" Oldavin interrupted the two.
