A rune made of white light appeared in front of the girl, and a pillar made of ice just grew from this rune. The ice pillar grew horizontally, towards Soren! At the edge of the ice pillar, it was sharp, and it looked like a spear!
Reeve's eyes widened. He never expected to be attacked the moment he started school. Technically speaking, the attack was meant for Soren, but since he was in front of Soren, the pillar would go through him, before impaling both of them. He was undead, so he had nothing to worry about. As for Soren …
Before the ice pillar could get to Reeve, Soren stood up, and then raised his hands, causing a pillar of fire to rise up and approach the coming pillar of ice. So, now a pillar of fire was approaching Reeve from the front, and a pillar of ice approaching from the front.
"Uh-oh!" exclaimed Reeve, as he realized that the attacks were coming towards him. Without waiting for anyone to give a signal, Reeve ducked to the side to avoid being caught in between the two pillars.
POOF!
As the two pillars collided, there was a burst of hot steam, which caused Reeve to wonder how hot the pillar of fire must have been. The hot steam blew over, causing Reeve to hold his breath. Thanks to this, there was now fog inside the corridor, blinding anyone who wanted to see what was happening.
POOOF!!
There was another burst of steam! It seemed as if either side would not stop until someone was dead. This puzzled Reeve. Didn't that funny looking principal say fighting was forbidden outside the arena? Soren knew this, so why was he fighting? Yes, it was probably that silver-haired chick's fault, but why was he fighting back?
Small pieces of ice shards flew past Reeve, scratching his green robe. Reeve would have cursed out aloud, if not for the fact that something else happened that caused him to swallow the curse words down his throat.
"ENOUGH!!" yelled an angry voice. The mist which was covering the corridor dispersed, revealing an angry-looking Lady Kyrra, and two people being held in bubbles made of water. "Didn't you hear the rules??!!" she asked, in a high-pitched tone, that told everyone she meant business.
And no, it wasn't funny business, she was dead serious. Well, she seemed to be. Anyway, Soren and the silver-haired girl were safely being held in the water bubbles.
"Umm, Professor Kyrra, good morning", spoke Reeve, nervously. He continued, "It wasn't Soren's fault. Eh … she attacked him … I think…"
"Who are you again?" asked Lady Kyrra, with a creased brow.
"Eh … I'm his friend. In fact--"
"I know who you are! Are you also involved in this?" she asked sternly.
"Well, no. But--"
"If you're not involved, stay away from this! Let this be a lesson to all other new students!" as she said this, she was raising her voice, so that all the students who had gathered to see the fight, would also see the results.
Inside the floating bubbles, Soren's and the silver-haired girl's eyes had returned back to normal. Of course, there was fear in those eyes. It appeared as if they had been sleepwalking when they were fighting.
"What's going on?" asked Rokkai, who suddenly seemed to have appeared out of thin air.
Before anyone responded, another girl rushed towards the front. When she eventually stopped, she was gasping for breath. The girl had neat blonde hair, and in terms of height, she was average. After taking a few deep breaths, the girl said, "I apologize for her majesty's sake. It was an accident!"
After she said that, murmurs echoed in the corridor, as students started discussing the implications of the blonde-haired girl's words. Reeve was surprised, and after some thoughts, he frowned.
"Look, there's a reason the rules were put in place. It doesn't matter that she's the princess, we have to adhere to the rules. After all, it wouldn't be fair to everyone else, would it?" spoke Rokkai, and his words caused even more people to murmur.
'Princess?' Reeve thought, as his frown deepened.
The blonde-haired girl panicked when she heard Rokkai's words. She suddenly said, "Is it possible to expel me instead of the princess?"
"I apologize, but that's not how justice works around here … eh … You see, the person who commits the crime is the one who is punished", Rokkai replied.
Rokkai and Lady Kyrra left the scene with two people in tow. The students were left discussing what this meant, while Reeve was wondering what he could do to help the poor kid.
"What happened?" asked Eskaria, as she got closer. Thanks to the scores of people, she had not managed to get closer to Reeve, until now.
"It seems like Soren got into trouble."
"So, what do we do to help?"
"Let's wait."
Lady Kyrra and Rokkai arrived in Rokkai's office, and the two looked at the students in the water bubbles.
"Should we let them go?" asked Lady Kyrra, with a frown.
"No! Of course not! I don't want my school destroyed! Anyway, I'm sure the new king will be here to talk about his daughter, once he hears that she's been expelled", Rokkai replied, and ended his sentence with a sigh.
"Well, I told you having two seeds in one place is not a bright idea." Rokkai turned to look at the two bubbles, which prompted Lady Kyrra to say, "Don't worry, they can't hear us."
"I knew that…"
"So, what are you going to do now?" asked Lady Kyrra.
"Isn't that easy? I'm going to expel them! However, I also need to give them the carrot. This way, I get to train them myself."
"Are you sure that's--"
"I'm sure Prudentia will help", Rokkai interrupted.
"Have you spoken to her? You know she doesn't talk to anyone outside her main temple!"
"Well … I have the seed with her power, I'm sure she'll be interested in--"
"You're making assumptions again. Anyway, should I leave the two here?" Lady Kyrra interrupted him.
