All Derricks' materials were laid bare in front of him.
It had been a while since he had crafted anything, and it was an activity he had grown to really enjoy.
Without a dedicated workshop, however, he had had to impose on Lacha, who didn't mind. Derrick could tell that she was also really curious, as she hung around him during his preparations.
The materials he'd use were primarily from the Leshi, since they had been harvested with care, and he had removed their previously ominous aura.
"Are you going to make weapons out of these?"
Lacha couldn't help herself and had to ask. After all, everyone would be a little skeptic when seeing raw products that were without shape or form.
"You'll see in a bit. It's also to help us gather funds. I don't know about the weapons' grade present in bigger cities, but I'm sure mine won't lose to those in the lower regions"
Derrick puffed up his chest in pride. He really was confident in his craft, sure that all his creations were special in their own rights.
On that note, it was time to begin.
"I'm starting. Make sure that nobody disturbs me"
He smiled at Lacha who awkwardly answered with one of her own, before eventually leaving the room.
Their interactions were still far from being natural, but Derrick thought they had slightly improved.
The first thing Derrick wanted to make was a bow.
He liked his sword, but he loved being prepared more. Having a balanced fighting style was primordial, and he had learned this the harsh way.
Plus, he could master various weapons even if he didn't belong in the Spartan class. It would just be much more difficult and time-consuming.
He took the antlers and started carving them gently with his knife. He was going to keep this bow, so he didn't want to make any mistake.
After removing the excesses, he tested its malleability and tensile strength.
Once satisfied, he took out a tendon he had kept from Drako's corpse, as it'd be used as the bows' string. It had slightly deteriorated, but it was still a premium product.
He was still cursing that damn Leshi for ruining all its ligaments.
He then tied everything up together and started putting on the finishing touches.
After several hours of arduous work, the almost finished bow began to emit a malicious, yet benevolent aura, something that surprised Derrick. He hurriedly finished his work and asked the system to appraise it.
[Dark Forest Guardian Bow]
[Grade : Legendary]
[Attack Power : 25]
[Abilities : Can immobilize a target for 2 seconds, regardless of its defenses]
[Description : Made from two beasts occupying the apex of their ecosystems]
Derrick couldn't stop himself from shouting at the top of his lungs.
This item was beyond overpowered.
An attack power of 25 meant that it was 25 times stronger than a common entity. When he had seen the number, his eyes had nearly popped out of their sockets.
On top of its already ludicrous ability, the weapon was simply unmatched.
He had to say it was also the first time that a weapon he made possessed a grade other than 'Unique'. He was definitely going to inquire about its quality when going to the city.
When hearing the commotion, Lacha had hurriedly gone to the room, only to realize he was simply overjoyed by his creation.
Still on cloud nine, Derrick quickly stood up and took her in his embrace, giving her a long hug.
Lacha was shocked by his reaction, but became quite happy by the end of it. It had been a long time since anyone had shown her that type of sincerity.
After a while, Derrick let her go, realizing he might have gotten carried away.
"I still have work to do, sorry for this... I couldn't help myself"
"No need to apologize"
She warmly smiled and left the room again.
After gathering back his thoughts, it was time to make weapons to sell. He had to make sure that they weren't stronger than his own, but not so weak that they'd be easily dismissed.
Derrick had already invested a lot of time and resources in his bow, which resulted in his materials left amounting to a couple of bones from the Leshi.
Since he didn't want to design multiple weapons, he settled on solely creating spears. Doing this would allow him to streamline the process and make them faster.

After another 3 hours, he was finished. They weren't his finest creations, but he felt like it was satisfactory.
He had made 4 extremely sharp spears that were engraved with various figures, making them more appealing to look at.
[Spiritual Spear]
[Grade : Rare]
[Attack Power : 16]
[Abilities : Unstoppable Thrust (As its name implies, the thrust of this spear is unstoppable once launched. Cooldown timer : 1 day)]
[Description : Carved from the bones of an 'overclocked' Leshi]
They were simple while still being good weapons, at least in Derrick's eyes.
He was eager to see what kind of reception they'd get, since he badly needed funds to begin his future endeavors.
If they did well, it would also build up his crafts' credentials, which would be a large bonus for the future.
After all, the better your products were, the higher their prices were due to increased demand.
Plus, he was really excited to see how the cities looked on this continent.
A new journey was sure to begin tomorrow.
