"Zoey are you writing in that little diary of yours again?", asked my mom looking at me through the rearview mirror. My mom is a beautiful lady. She has those big light brown eyes, that make up that is cheap but can fool you into loving it. She has a small nose and small lips that can talk forever. She doesn't attract a lot of men, which is a good thing cause I don't have to deal with some lazy old stranger taking over everything in the house. And the truth is that I don't know when my mom might walk into the house with some guy that she likes. But right now it's perfect they way it is. Just me, mom, and my little brother.
"Yes, I'm writing in a little diary of mine.", i said looking out the window.
"I guess it's good for you to be writing what you feel. But I've been a little worried about you lately. You've gotten a little shy this past year. Is everything okay?", she said with a concerned look.
"Yeah, I'm fine. There is no reason to start worrying about me". Truth is I wasn't fine. But I knew if I told my mom that she would freak out and not pay attention to her self.
"Ok, but to remind you I am your mother and I should be worried about you. You and your little brother are my stones. If I lose my stones then I would fall and not know what to do. Do you understand me?"
I looked at her with a smile and said "Yes, you are basically saying that we are important to you".
"Well not exactly but you will learn when you get older and I have kids of your own. But for right now, you want pizza or chicken nuggets."
" First of all I want chicken nuggets and second there is no way I'm having kids.", I said to her with a straight face.
"I-I want chicken nuggets too", said my little brother rubbing his eyes.
"Good you finally woke up and just on time. We are arriving at Chickens Place in five minutes. Then after we head to our new home.", my mom said with a big smile on her face. "Oh, I can't wait to see what the room looks like. Aren't you excited Zoey?".
I looked at my mom smiling big looking at the rearview mirror. I looked back at her with a smile and said "Yes I'm excited if you are."
"Yes that's the spirit, I'm looking for"
"I'M EXCITED TOO!!", shouted Michael.
"AND THANKS TO YOU I'M DEAF!", I shouted back.
"AND THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU I ALMOST CRASHED THE CAR!", my mom said still still driving. Then i burst into a big laugh that made all of us laugh. This is our family, just the three of us forever.
