Chapter 6 - The Psycho and the Prince are...Mates?

[Morana]

It was worth it. I didn't get the boy, but the worst thing that could happen to me is that I have to stay here.

Even if the headmaster sends me back to the lodge, that would be better. It would be easier to get my prey.

I am smiling to myself at all the possibilities that await me when water splashes on my face. The smile instantly drops, and I am feeling even more pissed off than before.

The overhead lighting is bright against my skin. However, the rest of the room submerges in darkness, or so my assailants thought. I saw every person who believed they concealed themselves.

I wondered what type of hidden freak the headmaster was to leave me here.

I was okay with the bonds they are keeping me in since I could have released myself at any time. The magic in the merlin chains absorb into me, and I felt sharper as time went on.

The figure before me was standing in the shadows, and though he thought he was concealing himself from me, he was as plain as day in my eyes. I chuckle at how solemn his face was.

"I can see you there, you know?" The figure jumped at the sudden break in the silence after the splash. He quickly composes himself, and it's obvious he is getting self-conscious about the fact the I see him.

"Don't be conscious about that," he relaxes a bit, then I continue, "you should be conscious about the booger I saw in your nose, though. "With that, the man turns to the side and rubs his nose.

"Hahaha! Noob!"

Someone cleared their throat uncomfortably to the side, and I snap my head to the sound. A man with a rusted metal bucket is there, rubbing his neck as well. Now I know his face.

"We want to know why you tried to assassinate the prince of the fae kingdom. Was that your mission? Who sent you?" The stern man attempts to intimidate me, but the smirk I'm sporting doesn't budge.

"Prince who? I was just trying to eat something." I try to shrug as best as possible, which is difficult in itself since they tied me up to my elbows in merlin chains. The thing stares at me with mouth ajar at my response.

"Someone, you were trying to eat someone. That someone just so happens to be a prince." The thing deadpanned at my statement. Prince or not, this will not be my last attempt if they send me home. But I don't tell them that. Now is the time to charm and lure these fools in so I could escape and probably snack on them too.

"Look here, gentlemen, I am just a little tiny girl who didn't know better." I bat my lashes at them in a plea of innocence. The books say they work in the art of seduction. "This is just a misunderstanding that won't happen again." Jut the lip out as well.

"Nonsense, you moved with killing intent. You knew what you were doing." Oh Hades, he didn't buy it. I sigh in frustration seeing as that was all I could feel these days.

The school was making me hold a personal grudge against it. Did Uncle Wes not love me anymore? Is that why he sent me here? It was like he wanted me to kill these people.

"Look here thing one," I sit up with a cruel glare painted on my face while bursting the ropes, "I was hungry. So what?" I shrugged with nonchalance, already over this room. Where was Norman anyway? "That was the most delicious smelling prey I have ever tasted. Assassination? Bah! I wanted to suck him dry..." I stand up, and from the faint blue hue in the room, my eyes were glowing as well.

The sole light above me flickers before dimming, and the blue of my eyes get brighter. The shock on his face was beautiful.

"Was, w-was that a confession?" He seemed to ask the silence. "I t-think it was." The man with a death wish then made his way to me. As I am about to pounce, the room gets lighter. Norman comes in through a door that was once blended into the wall seamlessly.

"Come on! You can't keep ruining my meals. It's not nice, you know!" Ignoring my outburst, Norman calmly nods, and the goons wordlessly leave.

"Sonny, now I know why Westly was afraid. I am going to have to monitor you closely and from now on. My daughter will be the one to do the monitoring. You are impulsive, aggressive, disrespectful, psychopathic, quite frankly cruel, and all in all, evil."

Skipping over the first part, I focus on the ending. I can tell there are stars in my eyes right now.

"Norman-"

"Headmaster."

"-that is the most beautiful description anyone has ever given me. I do try. I do." With one bewildered look that quickly withered into indifference, Norman turned his back.

"Come on now, child, there is a crowd to appease and a prince in need of your presence."

Oh Hades, the school will burn one day.

At the time, I never knew how right my words were.

***

He wore a blood-red cape, an arrogant smirk, and an inkling for my thigh highs (I saw his lingering gaze, freak). That's it. That's the look of my next meal. Want to know why? Because I met him at the canteen.

But I can't tell this supposed prince that he was mere food to me.

After Norman convinced everyone that I was not a threat to them, I don't know why he would lie. He brought me to the fae's dorm room that now has four guards posted outside and six more inside.

All because he wanted to meet me.

I didn't mind the extra audience. All that serves as is ten appetizers before the main course. I gulp after that thought, and from the look on the 'prince's' face, he knew what he was to me.

Right now, the prince was sitting in a red throne-like chair that had a name engraved in a gold plate right about his head and had diamonds lining it.

Rich.

He was slumped on his chair, a lazy arm supporting his equally relaxed face. For the first time, I take him in. I said he was pretty before, but now that I have calmed down, he is quite a sight.

I always liked it when my preys were beautiful. Boy or Girl, that was when I enjoyed it the most. It was something about the presentation that made it better.

We make eye contact, and the urge to devour him till there is nothing left is back.

"Want to tell me why you tried to eat me? I get that I am a sight for sore, miserable eyes, but this was going too far." He sounded too smug for my liking. It was almost like he was egging me on to try again.

"Eat you? I just wanted a taste. Was that so bad?" I pout for effect. The male gender liked a cute persona, right?

"Acting cute won't change what you did." Why was he difficult? Since that didn't work, I just went to bed adjacent to the chair and plunged into the softness.

It was the right decision since his scent lingered all around the sheets.

"I don't know what you mean. I was only trying to eat."

"So, eating a high elven prince doesn't phase you? Tell me, how did you think this would end?" Ah, yes, he is an elven prince.

"I would have been fine." I sit up and look at him with a sparkle in my eyes. "Say, can I taste your blood?"

He clears his throat, and I notice blood rushing to his cheeks. "How can you say that so bluntly?" I become confused at how shy, he seems.

"Why is that blunt? It's just blood, right?"

"It's just blood to you, huh? " His brows furrow, and a beautiful smile blooms on his face. He then rests chin on his open palm, seemingly amused.

"What else would it be? So, do you agree? You just smell so good!" He stops smiling at my answer. Then he comes towards me; I smile at his actions. He agreed!

He leans down when he comes before my face. I almost drool at how close he is, but I control my self. He grips my chin in his grasp, and my fangs extend out of habit. I don't hate him touching me.

"Heh. What is this? You don't even recognize your mate when you should."

Mate? For the first time in my life, I can't smile.

Mate?
