Chapter 6 - Chapter 6:

He quickly filled out the form in neat, handwriting, and handed it back to the receptionist.

"Ok, it will take us a few days to input the data into the system but we will send you an email with information on the classes available as soon as that is done. Have a nice day!", the receptionist said while happily waving him goodbye, happy to have gained a new customer.

Ace waved goodbye, smiled and walked back home, enjoying doing such a simple thing without any of the attached pain, it almost felt surreal to him.

After entering the apartment, he checked on his order and went to his room to work on some more advanced content, he should most definitely not be learning anytime soon. He spent a few hours going at it, then went to the kitchen, where one of the maids asked what he wished to have for lunch, he told her to surprise him, to which she smiled and nodded while muttering to herself on what she would prepare.

Halfway through eating lunch, his grandmother called him, telling him she and the tutor would be coming over in order for him to meet Ace and so they could complete the test Ace insisted on taking. At this, Ace smiled, the first of his plans was finally coming into fruition. He had been studying furiously the last few months he had been fully able, and he was now able to recall all data he had learnt perfectly, even books he had read years ago, which made his learning extremely easy, almost ridiculously so. He had gone through all content in high school, ensuring he learnt every single thing. He was unaware of how his grandmother would want him to be tested, but knowing Samantha, it would be excruciatingly hard, at least if he was normal, but now, anything she through at him would simply be achieved with almost no effort. For this reason, he had been looking through every high school in his area, his grandmother would want to have the last word on his choice but he knew that if he made a strong enough case for any of them, she would allow him to go, especially if the test he was supposed to take went as he assumed it would.

He heard the bell on the door and quickly went to open it, and when he did, he was surprised, he had expected a man in his fifties, with glasses and balding hair, but instead, his tutor seemed to be a girl, blonde with blue eyes, good-looking if he said so himself. Next to her, his grandmother stood as always, with perfect posture, a calm smile on her face. He waved them in, frowning slightly to his grandmother when the girl walked past him, she simply smiled mysteriously. To Ace's surprise, the girl seemed only slightly impressed with the attic, much less than any 17 or 18-year-old girl should anyways. However, he surmised that his grandmother would not pick just anyone for such an 'important role' as she called it.

"Hey, I'm Ace", he said with his practised smile and whilst stretching out his hand for a handshake.

"Lailah", she said, with a smile that would make most boys swoon over her.

Ace simply smiled at that, and Leilah seemed surprised that he gave no further reaction such as staring or whatever.

"I will be your tutor, but Samantha tells me you wish to take a test?"

Okay, this girl was not so simple after all, to be on a first-name basis with his grandmother, you had to be very important, almost ridiculously so. "Yes, that's right, I think that I could easily join High School in September, with people my age."

"Hmmm, ok, I have prepared something for you to do, you will have three hours and it should tell how prepared you are for school.", with this, she took out a pile of papers from her bag and handed them over to him.

He sat down in the table in his dining area, while the women sat down in the lounge area, and a women came with the teas Ace had told her to prepare beforehand. At this, both women looked at Ace approvingly, even though he was unable to notice the stares - his back was turned.

Ace was calmly answering every question, most where test-based but some essay based ones, clearly harder, were also placed at the end of the stack. He was surprised, most of the content here was most certainly not his age, in fact, from all he had studied, he would bet that it was a mix of all content people were supposed to learn at high school. Nevertheless, he completed every question, the test taking him only an hour and a half.

"Ok, I am done!", he called out to his grandmother, the women looked at him surprised. Ace was unaware at the time but the test Leilah had given him was actually a MAT, mixed-ability test, that was supposed to test one's knowledge from their whole high school career. It was only used in her school and given out only to the seniors after they had finished the whole curriculum. It was for the school to see who had retained the most knowledge and for the students to see what they had to work on. With a combination of luck and hard work, it was possible to gain full marks on it, but only a few seniors managed to do it every few years - it was most definitely not common.

Leilah, begun marking it, her face contorting into a variety of emotions, each wilder than the last, and by forty minutes, when she had finished marking the test, she was surprised, she had checked and rechecked over his answers but no errors were to be found, he had aced the test.

"Emmm... Ace has achieved full marks.", she said this while staring at Samantha in a bewildered manner.

Samantha herself broke her facade, her mouth opening lightly then closing back again with force, she swivelled her head to her grandson, he was smiling contentedly from the chair he was sat in, as if he already knew what he was going to get on the test. He walked to the women and simply said: "Yay, I'm going to high school!", with an excited smile lighting his face, and a small chair to go along with it.
