Stepping into the training grounds all three packs formed a circle all seeming eager to see my power for themselves. Those that had been training while they waited stopped the second I arrived as they cleared the grounds. Damien and Nate both approaches the centre. Damien like some colosseum ring master spoke as the packs formed.
"Finally the moment we've all been waiting for the alpha of the forest lakes pack herself. Who would like to be the first to test her gifted moon goddess power in action?"
I groaned what a child were about to fight a war and he's acting like we're in Ancient Greece or some fight club remix. I smiled an idea forming in my head, both of them need to be brought back down to earth.
"How about we make it interesting?"
Damiens eyes snap towards me intrigue in his facial features.
"What do you propose?"
I exchange glances with both Damien and Nate my smile widening.
"Alphas against alphas."
Damiens eyes widen his hand caressing his chin in a thoughtful gesture.
"A three way fight well that could be in-"
"No!"
I cut him off mid sentence.
"Not a three way fight both of you against me. Two on one."
The three packs formed went silent at my words. Those of the forest lakes pack grinned standing higher showing their support and faith in me as their alpha.
"My dear Raven you cant think to win against the two of us even with the moon goddess powers. I'm told you haven't quite mastered them yet it would not be fair."
My eyes settled on Nate.
"Do we have a fight or not?"
By the look on Nate face he has doubts, about what I'm unsure. Damien however appears to find the whole thing appealing.
"Let's make it even more interesting."
I raise my eyebrows in surprise urging him to continue.
"Lets keep the three way fight we have a war to win we must have a clear leader who makes all final decisions. Whoever wins will be that leader even after the war has ended what ever the outcome may be. There must always be a top pack a clear leader we are wolves it is our way."
I contemplate this silently, he did have a point it would be much easier to do what needed to be done if all packs gathered had one clear deciding leader.
'It's a trap rav he's up to something.'
Zelds voice sounded in my head, my eyes zoned in on his green eyes at the head of the crowd standing before the forest lakes pack.
'It does make sense though if we are to win against Shiya and Luna there can be no indecision. We must all be on the same page otherwise we will fail.'
'Do you believe you can beat them both?'
I thought back to Ki's words. If he's telling the truth and I am the moon goddess by birth then...
'Yes I do.'
His lips curve into a smile.
'Then kick their asses.'
I chuckle my eyes going back to Damien and Nate.
"Deal."
Both of them grin power lust in their eyes.
"Perfect."
Raising his voice for all to hear he tells all.
"This will be a fight to determine the alpha of alphas. Whoever wins this fight all packs will swear allegiance to the alpha that is the victor. If any of you disagree as your alphas we will have no choice but to banish you."
There were murmurs spreading throughout the crowd gathered but none seem to be opposed to the fight in fact they seemed pleased.
Damien looked to me.
"Rules?"
I shrugged.
"It's a test of our powers right as in all our powers. So that means there are no rules we fight til there's only one left standing."
Once again Damien and Nate exchanges looks. Both held a cocky air about them.
'You know what their planing don't you?'
'Of course.'
Caryi's laughter sounded in my head.
'They have no idea what their getting into.'
Damien addressed the crowd once more.
"No one interferes we fight til two alphas concede to the third."
I nod as I pull my shirt off leaving me in my sports tights and sports bra for easier movement. My knives attached to a belt at my waist. Both Nate and Damien do the same leaving them shirtless with just their pants on but no weapons to speak of. I knew this fight would not be easy, they were alphas for a reason. The red paw pack were known for their affinity with fire and the silver claw pack with water. This would be a fight of the elements. To beat them I will need to attack in just the right way to turn their power against each other.
'You can do this Rave.'
I eyes met Loki's in surprise.
'Loki?'
His eyes showed so much pride in them I was stunned.
'You were born to do this. Show them what everyone of the forest lakes wolves see that you are a true alpha."
I nod now more determined then ever. My attention now back on the fight as Damien and Nate stood before me. With one look at each other they both attacked me together just like I knew they would.
Fire and water shot towards me instantly I summoned up my wind shield. My wind shield swirled around me absorbing both attacks, then I realeased them shooting the fire at Nate and the water at Damien. Grinning like a Cheshire Cat Nate doused the fire with another water attack and Damien dodged the water attack spinning to the side.
Cheers erupted from the crowd, I barely had time to recover before Damien lunged towards me. His fists covered in fire, I side stepped him grabbing his wrist just as Nate came at me from the left. A sword of ice in his hands, I pulled Damien forward to shield me from the icy blade. He was smarter then I thought however as he used his fire to shoot at the ground using its force to propel him out of the way.
Quickly I pulled my knives out one in each hand I blocked Nates swords with my own blades crossed. Damien already recovered threw a fire ball from the right. With my wind I changed it's trajectory towards Nate. He had no choice but to jump back out of range.
'They are holding back studying our abilities.'
I gritted my teeth.
'I know that Caryi!'
Nate shot ice shards at me I brought up my wind shield, as the wind shield gusted around me the ground beneath me became hot.
'Damiens sending fire through the ground beneath us.'
I growled Nate was still shooting his ice sheds at us. I was trapped, if I let my shield down the ice sheds would get us if I stayed here Damiens fire burned us alive. I had hoped to avoid this but seems I have no other choice. Just as the fire broke through the ground beneath me I flew out the top of my wind tornado shield in the guise of an eagle.
Both Nate and Damien looked up in awe as I dived down shifting to wolf form as my paws hit the ground. My white fur looking out of place in this baron training ground.
'Is that the best you can do?!'
I projected my thoughts to all even those looking on. Both Damien and Nate exchange yet another look as they grinned.
"Seems we need to kick it up a notch."
I growl.
'How about we stop playing games?!'
They both stare at me greed for power in their eyes, even though they were allies both could not hide their ambition to be the alpha of alphas. I could not let them win, if I die I need to know that those that are left will not be ruled by power hungry souls like these.
Together they started to shift, both smaller then me since I was forest wolf but I was not fooled by their size they were both still powerful. Damiens red coat and Nates Silver one a sharp contrast to my pure white.
Now all three of us were in wolf form, pure beast. To win this I knew they would give themselves over to their animal sides. We are always stronger in our wolf form and while our elemental powers were harder to use in wolf form since you didn't have your hands to help control it. Very few wolves learned how to use elemental power in form as it took a lot of concentration and in battle you had to think fast. One wrong thought and your just as likely to turn your power on yourself by accident.
I was sure that they would have no such problems and could easily control their power in wolf form it was part of the reason they had maintained their status as alphas.
They attacked together both working as one to bring me down. All that could be heard was the sound of our growling and the occasional swirl of wind, fire and water. An Ice shard grazed my side, I ignored the pain sending Nate back with my wind only to be caught in Damiens grasp as he bit at my neck. I wrapped my paws around him biting into his back, Nate rejoining the fight bit at my back.
I tried to force them off with my wind but they refused to yeld continuing to bite down further into my flesh. I lost my grip on Damien yelping in pain as his fire erupted from his mouth. Seconds later I was engulfed in flames. The pain was excruciating I was being burnt all over as the flames surrounded me. Then the flames were extinguished as ice encased me.
Damien and Nate let go as the ice surounded me putting out the fire but trapping me inside. I couldn't move couldn't breath. The pain from the flames was still cursing through me. How could I let this happen? I must have underestimated them. If Nate didn't take his ice away soon I was done for. If Ki's story was true then i had to be the one calling the shots. the packs have no chance of killing Luna without my power. But I haven't fully gained my powers hell I don't even know what my full powers are. How can I hope to defeat the last vampire if I can't even beat these two.
'RAVEN!'
'Zeld?'
'You can still beat them find the strength within you. You have the power of a goddess use it!'
His words snapped something within me he's right I can't let them win. If Luna is my mortal enemy then I will find a way to kill her. For my pack, for all the packs. In the name of the last lycan thorpe I will defeat her.
I felt my eyes glow with an intense green as my body hummed with power. The burns on my skin started to heal. The ice around me started to me melt as my entire body erupted in blue flames. These flames did not burn me, they feed me power.
I howled into the sky as Damien and Nate stare at me in shock and fear. Growling I summoned I tornado of wind and water. The blue flames left my body joining the tornado. Both alphas fought against its pull but it was futile. They were sucked into the swirling mass of water, Fire and wind. Shifting into an Phoenix my wings of fire lifting me into the air. I flew above the tornado, Once at its peak I dove down my speed picking up as gravity took hold. A fireball forming at my beak on impact there was a millisecond of silence. Then a explosion erupted sending both alphas flying hitting the ground hard.
Shifting back to wolf form I stood above the battered and beaten now humans bodies of Damien and Nate. Projecting my mind link to all I asked.
'Do you yeld?'
Their eyes stare up at me in awe. No one moved no one breathed as we waited for their answer. They shared a look then as one they slowly bowed before me.
"We pledge our loyalty to Raven alpha of the forest lakes pack."
Turning to the packs gathered I continue talking through the mind link.
'Your alphas have been defeated but I will not force you. If you do not agree to follow my orders you will not be harmed, if you choose to you may return to your lives in the human world. You will not be banished and if we win this war you will still have a place in your packs. So choose now those that want to end Shiya's evil will stay those that choose to stay out of harms way go now.'
To my surprise none left all members of all three packs one by one started bowing before me. Just as their alphas they were offering their loyalty to me as the alpha above all alphas.
I couldn't believe what I had done, I had actually defeated two alphas in battle. I had used both fire and water. Did this mean Ki was right? Was I really the true moon goddess reincarnated?
'Rise all of you and continue training we must be ready for the battle ahead.'
I started back towards the house leaving the crowd of gathered wolves behind as talk started up about what they had seen. I sensed Zeld trail after me as we reached the back door.
I shifted back to human form, Zeld moved forward a fresh set of clothes in his hands. As I went to reach for them the fatigue of what I'd done hit me as my legs started to fold beneath me. Zeld quickly lifts me into his arms.
"I think maybe you over did it."
I chuckled weakly.
"Just a little."
He started to carry me upstairs to our room. Once inside he gently lowered me to onto the bed.
"Rest Rav I'll watch over them."
He leaned in to kiss my forehead, as he turned away I grabbed his hand. My words however were lost when my eyes rested on my wrist. Zeld followed my line of sight his eyes widening. Where the spirals had formed were now accompanied by two more symbols. One a three pronged flame with a spirit in the middle and the other a circle with three wavy lines on the bottom and three spiral waves at the top.
My eyes met Zeld's it finally made sense, they were the symbols representing the elements. The original three spirals were the symbol for air. With each element I gained a new symbol appeared.
"I don't understand."
Zeld shakes his head.
"Neither do I Rav, but we'll figure it out together."
I nod my eyes starting to close my body and mind exhausted. He takes my lips in a kiss to let me know he's there for me.
"I love you."
I mumble an I love you back before I succumb to the darkness of sleep. Vaguely feeling Zeld cover me with blankets before closing the door behind him.
