Chereads / Cursed wolf / Chapter 50 - 50. It can’t be true

Chapter 50 - 50. It can’t be true

Now that the silver claw pack had joined in our fight against Shiya it was even harder to keep the forest lakes pack wolves under control. They weren't used to having to share their space and since the sliver moon pack had moved in it only made things worse.

We still had a couple days til we could execute our plan to rescue Luna and with most of our time putting out small fires between the packs it was slow going.

"Something needs to be done about your wolves their out of control!"

Nates voice was shrill making Zeld arch up to defend our pack.

"Their wild wolves their not used to such close quarters!"

"Your wolves are uncivilised!"

I growled.

"Enough both of you!"

Both Zeld and Nate spun to face me you could almost see the steam coming from their ears.

"There's an easy solution to this the forest lakes wolves are agitated because their not used to being in a house, so let's get them out of the house. The grounds are big enough that they can pitch tents. The forest lakes wolves will take up the patrols in the woods behind the mansion which will keep them busy and the tents will keep them calm since they won't feel trapped behind four walls. Sound good?"

Both Damien and Nate looked to each other then back to me.

"It's a good plan Nate if we can't work together there's no way we'll be able to get the moon goddess back let alone defeat Shiya and the other packs."

Nate nods.

"Very well then I agree."

I breath a sigh of relief.

"Good we should also hold trianing sessions everyday with all three packs so that they learn to work together. Plus it will help them work out their aggressions."

Damien faces me.

"Will you be joining those training sessions Raven I'm keen to see the extent of your power. It will help in working our plans."

Even though i wasn't to happy about showing the full extent of my power I may trust them but it was always good to keep some of your cards hidden, but I knew he wouldn't let me say no.

"If you wish then yes plus it would be good for the packs to see the alphas taking part."

Damien smiles like a small child who's just been given the best present in the world.

"I look forward to it for now there's a few things I have to sort out for the moon goddess's rescue. If you'll excuse me."

I nod turning to Zeld as Damien left the room.

"Gather the packs have them get the tents and start setting them up and organise the patrols of the surrounding house and woods. Shiya can't know what we're planning."

Zeld nods as he leaves to follow my orders as I tune back to Nate. His eyes were on me a strange look in his features.

"Is there something else you wanted to discuss?"

He shakes his head.

"No I was just admiring your leadership skills. Tharon was a fool to let you go I'm sure if he had kept you none of this would have happened."

I chuckle.

"I doubt it from what I've heard Shiya has been planning this for years long before I was banished."

He shakes his head.

"I wouldn't sell yourself short Raven you were born to be an alpha. I understand the moon goddess herself choose you."

"Yes you've heard correctly."

He smiles.

"Yet more proof that you are a true alpha."

I wasn't used to this kind of praise and felt uncomfortable hearing it but I thanked him anyway and excused myself.

"Thank you for your kind words but I need to help my pack with the move."

He inclined his head as I left the room after Zeld.

I hadn't even gotten down the stairs before Keyon came rushing towards me.

"What's wrong?"

"You need to come with me now!"

I sighed never a dull moment around here. I rushed to follow him since he'd already started down the stairs.

I followed Keyon all the way outside, when we hit the tree line I paused.

"Keyon where are we going?"

He ignores my question as he grabs my hand pulling me into the woods. we ran further into the trees I started to hear yelling. I ran faster and what I saw was not what I was expecting. Loki was faced against the last person I expected to see.

"Ki?"

Both turned their heads my way Loki's face scrunched in anger while Ki's held relief.

"Rave thank god will you tell this over protective mutt to back off."

Loki growled stepping closer to Ki grabbing his shirt collar.

"Watch what you say boy the only reason I haven't killed you yet is because my daughter still thinks your worth saving."

Ki eyes look to me. How did Loki know that we haven't spoken about Ki yet he was right. I may be with Zeld now but I still cared deeply for Ki.

"What are you doing here Ki?"

Loki doesn't let go as Ki answers me.

"I needed to talk to you, you need to know the truth."

I shake my head.

"The truth about what Ki about why you joined Shiya because honestly I can't see anything that would force you to believe in what she's trying to do."

He growls in frustration struggling against Loki's hold.

"That's not it Rave please can we talk without the goon squad."

Keyon laughs.

"You think we're letting you be alone with our alpha your dreaming buddy."

"Both of you go."

Both Loki and Keyon stare at me shocked.

"No way Rave hes the enemy now!"

My eyes hold Loki's.

"If I have to order you I will. Ki won't hurt me and if he tries I'll kill him."

Loki's hesitates but reluctantly he lets go of Ki but before he leaves he stares down at Him.

"Your lucky it was us that found you and not any of the others."

Ki doesn't say anything as Loki and Keyon walk away. I watch them go turning back to Ki, my eyes scrutinised him. I sensed his loyalty to Shiya but there was something different about it, it was hard to explain. When I saw loyalties it was like an aura different colours meant different packs but Ki's was predominantly blue for the blue moon pack. But there was white on the outer edges meaning the moon goddess pack. Every now and then however large sparks of green would shine through.

"Their gone now speak."

Ki is slow to start as he steps closer to me I raise a wall of wind stopping him in his tracks making him frown.

"That's far enough."

There was hurt in his eyes at my distrust but what did he expect he had done exactly as I knew he would. No excuse would change the fact that he betrayed me.

"Rave-"

"Don't call me that to you I'm Raven alpha of the forest lakes pack."

His lips press together but he remained silent.

I growled.

"If you've got nothing to say then stop wasting my time."

I start to leave when Ki yells.

"I did it for you!"

I stop in my tracks turning slowly to face him.

"What are you talking about?"

He starts to step closer but stops himself his hand running through his hair suddenly looking defeated.

"She lied to you."

I shake my head not understanding.

"Who did?"

"The moon goddess everything she told you is a lie."

I throw my hands up groaning.

"Seriously Ki what kind of trick are you trying to pull?"

"I'm not lying-"

Turning I growl.

"Just go back Ki-"

He rushes to stop me from leaving but I summon my wind and throw him back. I glare down at Ki as he props himself up on his elbows.

"Luna is not the moon goddess!"

I step back in shock.

"What are you talking about of course she is."

He sighs as he gets back to his feet.

"No she's not everything she's ever told you is I lie. That cave was her prison the first moon goddess trapped her there all those years ago."

I laughed this was ridiculous.

"If that's true why would the cave be the thing that chooses the next forest lakes alpha?"

"When you went to Greenland and trained with Talieus did you finish your training before going in?"

I scowled which was answer enough.

"The week of training is essential to going into those caves. With each new successful alpha the seal renews it's strength, But if an alpha is chosen before they are ready then it weakens that seal. Grit was working for Shiya he sent you go in early knowing it would weaken the seal making it possible for Shiya to break her out."

I stared wide eyed at him unsure of what to think.

"But if Luna isn't the moon goddess then who is?"

Ki's eyes stare intensely at mine.

"You."

I shake my head.

"This is ridiculous Ki I'm not the moon goddess."

"You have the power don't you?"

I growl.

"I have what Luna gave me!"

Ki steps closer.

"No Raven you have always had that power going to those caves merely awakened it. You are the moon goddess. The moon goddess isn't a mystical being in some other dimension. The moon goddess isn't just one being she is many. When the first moon goddess died she was reborn again. Over and over the cycle repeats. You are a reincarnated version of the original moon goddess."

"Do you really expect me to believe all this?"

He growls.

"You must your our only hope of survival. Luna is pure evil. She has poisoned Shiya into doing her bidding. As the moon goddess it's only with your power that we can stop her before she destroys us all."

"Then why did you join her!"

"Because I needed to know the truth and the only way to do that was to go to the source, I joined Shiya for you to help you take her and Luna down from the inside!"

I start to turn away.

"I can't hear any more of this. Go spout your lies to someone else."

Quickly Ki grabs my hands putting them to his temples.

"Look for yourself see that I'm not lying."

His eyes are pleading reminding me of the male I fell in love with what seems like eons ago. His hand cups my cheek the touch awakening the feelings I thought long gone.

"Everything I've done up til this point has been for you, to help you. I won't fight you."

Closing my eyes I project my mind into his I didn't know what I would find and part of me dreaded finding out that he was telling the truth and what it would mean.

True to his word he didn't fight my invasion of his mind even going as far as guiding me to where the truth began, the moment I left his side.
