Chereads / Cursed wolf / Chapter 4 - 4. My home my prison

Chapter 4 - 4. My home my prison

I sat in a private airplane across from Kianti as he stared at me a smug smile on his face. Not being able to look at him any more considering what he was making me do I turned my head to look out the window.

"It's not as bad as you think."

I continued to watch the clouds go by refusing to answer. Why was I even here? I mean sure the bounty hunter was apparently after me too but I could've just ran. Surely Loki could have kept me safe. No I thought to my self I couldn't ask that of Loki, but did it have to be New York? Not to mention the fact that if any of my family found out I was in New York they would hunt me down and kill me. I'm basically just trading one psychopath for a family of them.

"I can smell you worrying over there trust me it's going to be fine."

I shot daggers at him.

"Last time I trusted you I was cubnapped by your would be assassin."

He chuckled annoyingly.

"Cubnapped??"

I growled turning back to the window, slowly he leaned forward as his nostrils flared again.

I growled.

"For the love of god stop sniffing me."

He shrugged sitting back but I could tell he was still doing it. Annoyed I got up and moved to the seat furtherest away from him. His chuckle behind me only fuelling my annoyance.

Finally there was silence as I was once again left to my own thoughts. I was so angry at Loki for letting Kianti take me, he knew how much I hated my family.

I can't wait for all this to be over with so I can go back to my home with my simple life without all this stupid pack drama. Every now and then I could sense him staring at me from across the plane. Alphas and their stupid superiority every single one of them had the same annoying attitude.

With one order they could make anyone of their pack do what ever they wanted. Lone wolves were not immune as he demonstrated in making me come here. The only wolves they couldn't order were wolves from other packs. What a mess I'd been dragged into.

I heard him stand up and sighed as he again sat across from me.

"What now? Can't you just leave me alone?"

He leaned on his knees as he took my hand in his much larger one.

"Listen I know your worried about going back but I need you to trust me I'm only trying to keep you safe."

I snatched my hand away.

"Why?"

He stared back A look of confusion on his face so I continued.

"Why do you care?"

It was then that something I couldn't read crossed his face as he suddenly seemed hesitant. Then his face changed as he smiled.

"I owe you a life doubt."

I scoffed.

"I saved you you saved me we're even that's strike one. Care to think of another excuse?"

He sat back staring closely at me as if he was looking for something. At first I didn't think he was going to say anything as his stare was starting to make me squirm.

"First the sniffing now staring didn't anyone ever teach you manners?"

"I could say the same for you considering your upbringing you would think you would have more respect for an alpha."

Ha like he knew anything about my upbringing god he was so infuriating. It was times like these I was glad that I was banished at least as a lone wolf I didn't have to deal with egotistical arses like him.

"What no answer?"

I gritted my teeth I can't believe I have to spend the next god knows how long dealing with him. Half of me wish I had let him die. I sighed then the other half of me knew I'd do it again in a heart beat.

I watched his blue eyes bore into my own his thoughts and feelings a mystery as he was obviously blocking his scent so that I couldn't read him just as I was doing to him.

He was obviously enjoying how uncomfortable I was under his gaze as a wide grin appeared on his face.

"What's wrong do I intimidate you?"

I glared at him trying with all my might to not fidget and give him more cause to laugh at me.

"Not at all just wondering how long til this bounty hunter finishes what he started so I can go home."

His eyes glowed in anger.

"I'm only trying to help you!"

"I didn't ask for your help! I don't need help from a glorified head of the pack cub masquerading as top dog."

Grabbing my arm he pulled me out of my seat growling as he stared mere millimeters away from my face.

"Go on show your strength that's all you pack dogs think about."

He growled as he roughly deposited me back into my seat.

"One day you will thank me for this."

He started to move back to his previous seat.

"I highly doubt it."

I mumbled under my breath as I went back to staring out the window once again left to my own thoughts.

The rest of the flight he didn't bother me which was just fine as I didn't want him noticing how anxious I felt as New York came into view.

Even from the plane I could see the building owned by my family. The moon goddess pack was one of the biggest packs in New York if not the biggest. They controlled everything from corporate businesses to fast food chains. If there was something that made money they had a hand in it.

Just the thought of being down their within the same city as them left me shivering with fear. Nothing went on in this city without them knowing about it. Most likely they already knew I was here Kianti was an idiot if he thought to hide me from them. In trying to save me from the bounty hunter he instead feed me to the wolves.

Landing the plane was towed into a private hanger as black tinted limos waited for us.

Kianti who had already changed from his ripped clothes mid flight now adorned in a grey business suit which I had to admit was rather appealing on him. Standing he extended a hand offering to take my bags. I ignored it however preferring to carry my own things I walked straight past him.

Shrugging he followed me out as we approached the limo. A lower level pack wolf opened the door for us. He was thinner then your average wolf and smiled as he bowed showing his blond hair.

"Thank you."

His smile widened as Kianti let out an exasperated sigh. I scowled in his direction clearly he was still mad at me his shoulders tight with anger.

The driver ignoring Kianti's reaction answered.

"My pleasure miss Moon."

"Please just call me Raven I'm no longer part of the moon pack."

"As you wish miss Raven."

Kianti stuck his head out the door.

"Can we go now considering no ones supposed know your here."

I scowled at him.

"It's laughable that you think they don't already know."

"Just get in."

The driver took my bags as I got in beside Kianti.

Even with the entire limo free he still insisted on sitting in the seat right next to mine. Our legs touched causing butterflies to flutter in my stomach.

I hated how my body reacting to his it was both uncomfortable and unnerving. My heart beat in my chest, the smile on his face alerting me to the fact that he could definitely hear it. His smile widened as he moved his leg closer.

Involuntarily I growled.

"Can you not sit somewhere else there's an entire limo use it."

"This is where I always seat you move."

Stubbornness dug in deep as I crossed my legs trying with all my might to move as far away from him as I could while staying in the same seat. I refused to let him win if I moved it'd be like bowing down to him and I refused to do that.

His chest vibrated with his small laugh at my failed attempt at distancing myself from him.

I glared at him.

"Your such a child."

He stretched his arms onto the head rest of the chairs placing his arm behind my head.

"It's the little things Rave your just so easy to bait."

Clearly his anger was gone replaced with this annoyingly playfully personality.

"Don't call me that."

"You mean Rave? Why?"

"Only my friends call me that and your not one of them."

"I wasn't aware you had any friends."

I punched him in the stomach causing him to grunt in pain still tender from the wound gained the other night.

"Seriously you do realise I'm an alpha right if anyone else did that-"

"If anyone else did that you would string them up and have them flogged blah blah blah. Yea I get it your an alpha get over yourself. You may be able to order me but doesn't mean I have to like you or respect you."

Turning serious his blue eyes gazed into mine.

"But do you trust me?"

He remained silent as I contemplated his question. Did I trust him? I mean sure he saved my life but that was only out of obligation because I saved his. It was at that moment something occurred to me about that night.

"How did you find me?"

His eyebrows knitted in confusion.

"I told you I just saw a house I didn't know it was yours."

I sighed.

"No I mean the river you were gone even the bounty hunter said that you had left the area so again, how did you find me?"

This question seemed to make him uncomfortable as he shifted in his seat.

"I just had a feeling."

Now it was my turn to be confused.

"I don't understand."

He looked away his eyes avoiding my own.

"Neither do I all I know is that one minute I was on my way out of town when I just knew you were in trouble and that I had to find you."

He turned back to me, our eyes met as the weight of his words enveloped us both. The intercom within the limo sounded as the driver announced our arrival breaking whatever had hung between us.

Ripping my eyes away from his our conversation forgotten, I looked out the window. It was one of the most beautiful houses I had ever seen well by house I mean mansion. It was huge complete with gardens fountains and pool tennis courts and everything you could imagine. The only house bigger then this was my own family home but where my childhood home omitted an aura of depression and self loathing this one seemed vibrant and carefree.

"Welcome to the blue moon pack headquarters."

Despite myself I couldn't help but smile.

"It's beautiful."

Kianti leaned in til I could feel his breath at my ear his smell intoxicating with its closeness.

"Much better then that shack of yours in the woods eh?"

I elbowed him in the ribs this time avoiding his almost healed stomach.

"There's nothing wrong with living in the woods we are wolves after all it's where we rightfully belong."

"True but doesn't hurt to have a few luxuries like indoor heating."

I scowled at his attitude.

"Spoken like a true pack dog."

"Stop calling me a dog since I've stopped calling you mutt it's the least you can do to show the same courtesy."

The car came to a stop before the front steps. Before the driver could open the door I pushed it open looking back at Kianti.

"Stop acting like a dog and I'll stop calling you one."

And I slammed the door in his face.

The driver seemingly unperturbed by my outburst merely opening the door that I had just slammed bowing as Kianti got out that ever present smug smile on his lips.

He opened his mouth to say something when another voice cut in.

"Ah finally you've returned I thought you would be back days ago."

A male I knew from my time in the city before my banishment came down the steps. His greying hair and slight lines on his face the only signs of his age. Even though I knew he was close to two hundred years old. He embraced Kianti in a tight hug making him groan as his wound twinged in pain.

Concern entered the former alpha of the blue moon pack trigon, brazes father. Now it all made sense I knew that Braze had a younger brother but I had never met him Kianti must be that brother but then where was Braze?

"And my word it can't be I haven't seen you young lady in what 5 years?"

I smiled Trigon was one of the kindest most amazing wolves to live in this city. He was one of the few that were always kind to me. Smiling he pulled me into a hug that was just as tight as Kianti's.

"Come inside both of you and tell me what this is all about."

We followed him in Kianti placing a hand on my lower back urging me forward as I took my time looking around. Pack members looked up curiously as we passed the many rooms headed to what I could only think was his office. Some whispering as their faces showed reconciliation.

"That's Raven of the moon goddess pack."

"What's she doing here?"

"I thought she was banished."

My eyes hit the floor as their voices trailed off.

Kiantis hand squeezed my own as we walked despite my current hostility towards him I was grateful for the gesture.

Trigon's lips curved in a small smile as he noticed the exchange causing me to rip my hand from Kiantis embarrassed, blush reaching my cheeks.

"Here we are come on take a seat and you can tell me all about it."

His office was huge the walls lined with books and a solid wood desk with neatly stacked binders. He sat down on the arm chair facing a three seater setting that was set up on one side of the room.

Kianti and I sat in the three seater across from him.

"Well ki you go first tell me who attacked you?"

Kianti wasn't surprised that Trigon know that he was hurt as it was obvious when they hugged outside.

"I don't know honestly one minute I was in a business deal with our Colorado branch next minute our car was attacked. I was injured in the crash a bounty hunter had already killed everyone with me but I escaped through the woods."

He looked towards me.

"That's where I came across a house where I hoped to hide til I healed."

Trigon turned to me.

"I'm assuming that's where you come in?"

I nodded.

"Yes sir I came home and found him unconscious in my bathroom so I stitched him up and sent him on his way."

His eyes widened in surprise.

"I have to say my dear I'm extremely grateful I don't know what I would have done if I'd lost yet another son."

I guess that answers my question as to Brazes where abouts.

"I'm sorry to hear about Braze."

Trigon nodded in gratitude as he turned to Kianti.

"So what happened after that I'm assuming there's more since miss Raven is here and not still in Colorado."

"Yes there's more Raven was taken by the bounty hunter who was looking for me but she escaped which was when I found her close to drowning in a river near town. Turns out there's also a bounty on her so I made the decision to bring her here where she'd be safe."

Trigon looked from me to Kianti who squirmed under his gaze. I could tell that he was coming to the same conclusion I had.

"How did you know that the bounty hunter had taken Raven?"

Kianti however it seemed had already had an answer for this question.

"I figured it out my scent was all over her house it was only a matter of time til he went after her. I owed her my life I couldn't let her be kill because of me."

Trigon stared at Kianti seeming to be trying to read the truth in his words. Whatever he saw he seemed satisfied with his answer.

"Fare enough. looks like you'll be staying here for now my dear."

Shock was on my face I thought for sure he would send me home. While he was a nice wolf I was also a banished one that had no right to be here. I had half hoped that he would make Kianti send me back.

"But I'm banished if my family finds out I'm here they will hold you responsible for allowing me to stay. I can't let you do this."

Trigon laughed.

"You let me worry about your family my dear it wouldn't be the first time they have been displeased with this pack and I'm sure it won't be the last."

He turned towards the door.

"Drake!"

The same wolf that drove us here entered the office bowing.

"Yes sir."

"Please escort miss Raven to the guest room on the third floor."

"As you wish."

"Don't worry Drake i can take her."

Kianti spoke as I was about to follow. Drake turned towards Trigon who nodded then left the office.

"Come on Rave."

I scowled at him as he used my nick name even after I told him not to.

I could feel Trigons eyes on us as we left the office closing the door behind us.

Kianti grabbed my hand as he took me to my room.

He looked at me side ways as my frustration showed loud and clear. I really hoped Trigon would send me home.

"Guess your plan didn't work."

I looked away.

"I don't know what your talking about."

He chuckled.

"Oh yes you do you were hopeing my father would send you home."

I pulled my hand from his folding my arms.

"Hey no need to get angry at me we're just trying to ensure your safety."

"I was perfectly safe at home."

He stopped at a white decorative door.

"We both know you weren't."

He paused as he reached up gently rubbing his thumb over the still healing cut on my forehead made by the bounty hunter. His hands were rough but the feel of his caress sent tingles down my spine.

I couldn't move as he stepped closer looking down at my small frame his blue eyes piercing my own.

"Ki..."

His name was a whisper on my tongue as his smell filled my nose he was so close my heart began to race. My eyes stared to close as his lips inched closer.

Suddenly my eyes snapped open as my senses returned what was I doing. How could I let my lust over come my reasoning. Quickly I pushed him back the surprise on his face was evident.

"Your charm might work on other wolves but I'm not falling for it. Now go away if I'm to be in prisoned in this house then I'll do it alone."

I opened the door slamming it behind me as his face disappeared behind the door my eyes widened in shock as his face disappeared. Was that hurt? Did I hurt him by rejecting his advances? I shook my head I doubt it he's probably just not used to being turned down.

I turned my back against the door as I slid down to the floor my arms wrapping around my legs.

Everything that had happened over the last few days hit me all at once. The weight of being back in this city facing my past it was all too much. Why did he have to choose my house? Tears started falling from my eyes as the magnitude of the situation weighed on me. Not even taking in the grandness of the room I got up and threw myself on the bed as the tears continued til finally I fell asleep.
