Chapter 1 - Chapter 1- Harper

Red hair, blue eyes, pale skin. This was Harper Sallow. She was a young girl who grew up in a very wealthy household as an only child with two maids and three butlers working as her parents since her true parents didn't want her around anymore. Harper was a very smart girl with amazing grades and two years ahead of the other children her age in every subject. She never gave up even when her parents would call her "a worthless piece of crap" and didn't let their cruel words get to her beautiful soul.

'one more day' Harper thought to herself. Her grandparents were finally coming home to pick up their grandchild from these terrible people, they were Harpers only way out. They took care of Harper in ways her parents did not, they fed her well and made sure she was clean, healthy, and happy.

All Harper needed to hear was a knock at the door and she would run into her grandmothers arms holding her bags and ready to leave. When Harper heard the knock she rushed to the door but when she opened it she seen a tall young man take off his hat and say, "I am sorry to say but mr. and mrs. Sallow have passed." he put his hat back on and walked away from the house. Harper knew she would be stuck at that house for what would feel like forever.

A few years later, on Harper's eleventh birthday her parents said they had a surprise for their daughter. This would be the first time Harper has ever gotten a surprise for any occasion. She was excited and ran home after school ended, she ran upstairs to take off her uniform and put on the dress her mother had sat on her bed. She was called downstairs and told to sit on the couch and wait for the surprise to get here. When someone rang the doorbell Harper almost jumped out of her seat. She closed her eyes and hoped to see a puppy or a kitten but when she opened her eyes she saw a tall, thin woman who looked much like her mother, Meredith but much kinder.
