Chapter 6 - The F*ckening

Levine thought everything was under control but the end was nigh.

'It chills me when I behold his pale face.' Levine thought and was mindlessly walking to return home last July 20th. In fact, mindlessly enough to think of something and that contains a plan that failed. Even so, the last step towards infestation was for him to gamble.

"Very well. Recreate Phantasm." The Voice in Levine's mind said sternly.

"I'd like to see your resolve, Levine."

"I'd like to see your despair."

It sounded alien to Levine as it became an indistinguishable noise inside his brain.

A week before fixing the loose ends of their relationship, Levine and Janine went to their respective work. Everything was ok at least, on Levine's part because he was always clueless of the events that were happening in his life, he always had a thought that experiences can be recreated again, such as memories and it would happen together with Janine because he thought that he had an unbreakable bond with Janine but Levine was the one who was only thinking about it as Janine already made a decision last week or prepared for it years ago. That was undetermined until then.

Days passed and Levine and Janine's days off came. Levine finished his additional work so that he can have a quality time with Jaine. Levine noticed the signs everywhere and the first one was Janine acted differently towards Levine and at that, Levine wanted to ignore the feeling along the way. Janine was rather pissed with Levine for no reason again as they were on a bus for them to go home. Levine was sleepy and drained to his work, so he closed his eyes then after an hour he was awake and Janine was laughing with his phone intact.

'Seriously, no hugs? Not even a kiss?'

'Janine is laughing at something...is it a meme? No, it has to be someone.'

Levine thought so and had a gut feeling.

Janine was feeling irritated and maintained a distance with Levine when they went off the bus. Even so, Levine was following her as Janine's aura changed. No physical contact at all and Levine was overthinking.

"It's sad." Levine said to Janine and was still ignored.

And the next thing that happened next was when they were on the tricycle that became flat on its wheels. Janine was getting frustrated because she also haven't had enough sleep and looks at Levine while she noticed that he was playing his mobile games again.

'I'll play and look at the screen and will try not to pay any attention to her. I want to test something.'

But Janine also did not pay any attention to Levine at all. Hours have passed and another tricycle went to transport them along with the others. Levine and Janine's aura were in sadness because that would be the last time that they would be together. They arrived home and Levine went to see Coco and Cookie the two dogs he missed, Levine likes Coco a lot because he reminds him of his late dog named Peppy. Well, Peppy was an Aspin and was supposed to die when Peppy tumbled to the stairs, one of his legs was broken. Levine was crying that day and was 15 years old back then but in his mind, he knew that crying cannot do anything to save the puppy so he cut a piece of cardboard, used a gauze that he found lying inside the house and a plaster and strapped it onto Peppy. Levine thought that Peppy would die but days have passed and Peppy was fine, alive, and happy. Even so, happiness would come to an end as Peppy met his demise and Levine shut off his memories. Levine thought that Coco was the reincarnation of Peppy so he liked one of Janine's dogs. Coco was white in color, had black spots and was given to them by Janine's relative, so as Cookie who was a hybrid of a poodle and a Shih Tzu. Cookie and Coco, when feeling excited gives a warm welcome with Janine and Levine but Cookie always urinates when she was excited.

Levine's stress was depleting every time he sees those two dogs along with Janine. This time when they went home, the usual thing happens but with the difference of Janine being cold with Levine. Janine continued to ignore Levine as he sleeps and Janine went upstairs after she bathed. Hours have passed and it soon became 8 p.m, Janine called Levine to go upstairs to her room.

'So, this is it huh?'

'This is one stinking gacha I'm having.'

'I do hope that happiness would last.'

'I had this feeling a year ago.'

Levine thought so and climbed the stairs of his finale.

Inside the room was dark and Janine was in her bed. Levine wants to hug Janine, until she spoke.

"I don't like you anymore and there is something I like, his name was Allen, my office mate."

Levine felt his heartbeat, clenched his fist, swallowed his saliva and cannot speak. Janine's words silenced and devastated him. Thoughts were running wild in his mind and generated a noise that Levine could only hear.

'Kill Janine.'

'End her life.'

'It was only a small price to pay.'

'End your misery.'

Levine was rather blank at silently staring at the well where he last threw his phone with and it had an image of black negative energy flowing through the room that seemed to look like a skull.

"This is the only time I can answer you Levine. Aboute my actions, are you sure you don't want to know?"

"No."

"Let's eat then."

Levine's mind was rather noisy but can utter small phrases.

'Ah, those five years, wasted.'

'Ah, the soon to be garden or beach wedding.'

'What now?'

'Hate?'

'Harbor that hate, make it yours Levine, that is the only thing that can authorize you in this cruel world.'

Levine and Janine finished their dinner and Janine's father returned to work. Janine, explaining that circumstances have changed, saw his father cry as well as Levine who thinks of him as his second father. Janine's parents wanted Levine to stay until Janine and he went to their work but Levine declined the offer. Janine also wanted Levine to sleep in the room where his younger brother was staying and Levine declined again.

"I'll sleep on the floor."

Janine's parents gave him a Uratex foam and a couple of pillows for sleeping. Levine felt warm to them and started to imbue his hate towards Janine.

"This is the last time huh?"

"Janine did not even let me sleep near her, so I guess her decision was made."

Levine opened his phone and saw his messenger app with Janine's emoji of waving and a message that said.

[Tell me what time you will leave tomorrow, inform me.]

Out of disgust, Levine deleted her message and did not reply.

'The nerve of Janine.'

'Hope you die soon enough.'

'Hope that someone you cherish meets their end.'

Neither did he know, he was placing a curse on Janine and his lifeline as his cost.

"Negative energies like these are tasty, do you think not?" Levine was startled hearing another voice and continued to brush it off like it did not exist.

Crying, Levine went to sleep and thought about Janine. Upstairs, Janine was discussing matters to her mom as she talks about his office mate named Allen and soon fell asleep. Morning came and Levine was awake, so he started to pack his things and wanted to get the f*ck out of Janine's house because for the f*cking time around he was not f*cking her and maybe f*cked by someone else along the way. At that thought of packing his stuff together with his clothes prepared by Janine along with his insurance can be describe a lot by f*cking happening all at once and you may call it the "f*ckening." Well then, it only means that a week or a day before, Levine thinks that everything was going smoothly on his relationship with Janine, but it was not! An event that triggers an individual that no mistakes or rather, some bad sh*t lurking around the corner would not happen but phenomena would dictate it to happen, along with the signs existing before and after. F*ckening finds its way when an individual is at peace. Interesting?

"Yeah. Interesting"

"Found it funny, perhaps."

Levine heard the voice again and Janine was getting angry with her.

"Are you even listening Levine?

"Are you insulting me?"

"No."

Levine grinned and Janine was frustrated at him for a single f*cking thing he does, like how Levine ate his Tocino and breakfast eggs that morning.

"She was babbling non-sense again, hahahahah!"

'Who the f*ck was that?!' Levine thought as he looked at Janine. A few hours have passed and Levine bid farewell to Janine's family, hugging them all except Janine at least, but Levine still hugged Janine even though he did not want it. Levine was frustrated and a deep hatred welled up as he was hugging her. Janine's father accompanied Levine as they saw a jeep and Janine's father wished the best for Levine. Levine as well, for the family he once a part of.

'This what led me for getting myself attached to people.'

'F*ck you Janine!'

Levine soon arrived at the bus station that would take him to the railway station to return to his home. In a few hours, Levine arrived at the railway station and saw a message from Janine's grandma.

[What happened to you two? I hope you can fix it, for it is not that late yet.]

Levine replied and typed on his phone.

[I do hope so, but your granddaughter is stubborn.]

'When she chose that f*cking Allen everything went in chaos.'

'My life was in total chaos with your f*cking decision, Janine.'

'What am I looking forward to in this life? I just wanted to die.'

"To die huh? It would be a waste of potential."

"And even if you wanted too, I cannot allow that, there is always a price to pay."

Levine was hearing the voice all over again and exclaimed, "F*ckening!"

Notes: "When your day is going too well and you don't trust it and some sh*t finally goes down. Ah, there it is, the f*ckening."
