Chapter 22 - Immortal (6) - Worst Technique

He understood that his disciple was jealous, even though he didn't understand what 'MC' meant. One of the different world things, he presumed.

"Errrhh. Yao'er, you said you wanted something urgently." Immortal Lu diverted Zhao Yao's thoughts.

"Yes. Master, Please impart a strong Cultivation technique to your disciple. I have to get strong soon." Zhao Yao asked with a bow.

"It's not the cultivation technique that makes you strong, it's your dedication to cultivation that determines how strong you will get."

"Yes. I understand. But, I need a cultivation technique to start and I have to beat my cousin who is in Qi gathering realm 8th level with only 5 days to spare." Zhao Yao appeared restless.

"Yao'er, listen to me. You shouldn't cultivate to defeat someone. Never rush your cultivation just for some petty reasons." Immortal Lu felt like even before his disciple started cultivating, he needed guidance. "Haste makes Waste."

"Your disciple understands." Even though Zhao Yao bowed, Immortal Lu saw a confident smile on him.

"I don't have any techniques in written form. Give me something to write."

Zhao Yao ran to get parchment and brush and immediately brought them. He was very excited.

Immortal Lu started writing the only technique he knew of. He created it after accumulating many of his predecessor's knowledge, and after a decade of trials and thinking. Other then his desire to seek the ends of cultivation, he didn't have anything in those years to help him.

This technique never failed him, and it made him what he is today. He gave away his technique to others regardless of the age or their birth status as long as they had a great interest in cultivating.

He called his technique "The Eternal Seeker." Always seeking the ends of the cultivation, it allowed the user to forge his own path.

"Zhao Yao, what do you know about cultivation." He asked as he wrote.

"I know that cultivation starts with the Qi Gathering realm followed by Foundation Establishment and Golden Core realm. After reaching the peak of Golden Core, the cultivators will be known as Martial Masters until they breakthrough to the coveted Martial realms." Zhao Yao's eyes glistened as he spoke, and he picked up the Zhao clan's low tier cultivation manual.

"I wasn't asking about the realms, but since you mentioned it, I will clarify what I know. Cultivation realms and the name people called it, changes with land, people, and time. The way they cultivate changes too." Immortal Lu, after a pause, continued.

"To cultivate is to strengthen one or more of the 3 aspects of oneself: Qi, Body, and Soul.

People of the West Continent, focuses on Body cultivation, unlike the People of the East Continent, who focuses on Qi cultivation. Their beginning realm is called Body Tempering instead of Qi Gathering.

How you want to cultivate, and which aspect you want to focus is up to you. Unless you didn't go astray, all methods lead to one path."

"All roads lead to Rome." Zhao Yao, who listened carefully, nodded.

"Rome?"

"Nothing, It's a proverb from my land."

"Which path you chose?" Zhao Yao curiously asked.

"A more balanced path. Your ancestor chose to focus on the Soul, unlike many of his Eastern Continent counterparts." Immortal said as he rubbed his jaw.

"Here, it is. I made this technique and used it for all these years. Forge your own path with it." Immortal Lu handed over the parchment with the technique written on it. "What are you holding?"

"It's the clan's 'low tier' cultivation manual." Zhao Yao replied.

"Oh. Let me see." Immortal Lu exchanged with Zhao Yao and started reading it. At the same time, Zhao Yao also started reading the 'heavenly' manual his master gave him.

Zhao Yao's eyes widened, and his mouth opened as he read the manual.

"You are joking, right?" Zhao Yao hopefully asked. "I understand I was hasty. Master, you don't have to go to this length to teach me a lesson."

"What are you talking about?" Immortal Lu didn't understand what his disciple meant.

"If you think I am not worthy of your heavenly cultivation technique, please test me."

"There is a secret part of this cultivation technique, right? You are planning to give me a powerful technique later?"

"No. That's the only one I have. And this cultivation technique only has one part, and it works in all realms."

Zhao Yao's words became weirder, but Immortal Lu was focused on the Zhao clan's technique.

'This is a terrible technique that a cultivator should never ever come across. To ruin one's future for a faster cultivation speed, this is blasphemy.' Immortal Lu felt anger for the person who created the technique and people who used them. No wonder the kids achieved Foundation Establishment Realm at a young age. They traded it with their potential.

"Master. I will use the clan's technique then." Zhao Yao let out a sigh as he said.

"No. You are not using this." Immortal Lu, who was angry already, didn't like what he heard and burned the Zhao clan's manual with his Qi fire.

"NOOOOOOO." Zhao Yao's face was filled with horror as he witnessed the cultivation technique he had for a decade but never was able to use burn.

"What's your problem, Yao'er?" Immortal Lu seriously didn't understand his disciple's actions. "What's wrong with my technique?"

"The cultivation technique you gave me..." Zhao Yao's voice trembled as he spoke.

"This is the WORST cultivation manual available in the entire Eastern Continent.

It's so bad and inefficient that no one uses this cultivation technique anymore."
