Irene and Ilyan had been sitting in comfortable silence until Ilyan's gaze shifted beside him upon feeling a sudden weight on his shoulder. The sight in front of him almost caught him off guard. Irene had dozed off on his shoulder, her hair strands dancing on her face yet she stayed unmoved.
The first thought to grace Ilyan's mind was that the previous day had been really hard on her. He had not missed her tired eyes when she had walked into his room a while ago. His gaze scrutinized her swollen eyelids Though not too visible, he could still see the wiped off traces of her tears under her eyes.
'She has gotten barely any sleep!' Melancholy descended over him as the quick silent conclusion occurred.
