Melissa held her feet in the air at the sudden scream for her name. Upon looking down at the ground, she caught a nail, its sharp edge pointed upward.
'Damn!' She pouted at the mere thought of what could have happened. Not that she really bothered about the pain but the messy bloody sight was such a big no no for Melissa.
As a guardian, she might have probably never let Irene see how blood made her nauseous. More because she did not truly want Irene to witness the same trauma that she had gone through before Melissa found her. Melissa had always effortlessly masked her tiny and huge issues to not let them affect Irene.
"Thank -" Her words saw an abrupt halt when she turned back to express her gratitude to the one who had just helped her escape a bad injury. "Kevin?" Initial surprise in orbs faded sooner than ever as she stepped closer. "What are you doing here?"
