Max felt enraged. He didn't mind Emma being outspoken because she has nothing to him, but his men going against his word would be something he wouldn't tolerate.
"Leave!" He said again, while his hold on Heidi's neck tightened, but the girl wouldn't even dare hold his hand to make him release her.
She was just trying to apologize but her voice wouldn't even come out.
Emma, who misunderstood the situation as Heidi being powerless against him, walked faster and when she got closer, she tried to pull Max's hand away from Heidi's neck.
In a blink of an eye, Max caught her hand before it touched his own and still didn't break his gaze from Heidi's own.
"Miss Smith, please leave." Max said with respect, but that only infuriated Emma more.
He wasn't holding her too tight, yet it felt like her hand was caged.
"I should leave, so that you can kill her. Shame on you for hurting a woman." Emma said in annoyance, making her look almost like the former owner of the body.
