"Thank you." Emma said and Max moved back to maintain a safe distance, but didn't look mad at all.
"That sounds weird. No need to thank me." He said, feeling it odd that someone who said he would make him fall for her was appreciating his consent, when the whole thing doesn't even make sense in the first place.
Even though it hasn't been long since all this started, he felt tired already. If Emma was someone he could get hold of her neck and give it a good squeeze to scare her away, that would be better, but he couldn't.
His dislike for her had limits, after the whole story he heard about her childhood.
Everything felt crazy now. Wanting to make someone fall for you, when he knew that was your intention in everything you do afterwards, is kind of weird.
