Chapter 30 - Aliens on the Sands

It only has been twelve hours since her departure from my fleet, and she was already contacting me through a very long-distance communication within our energies.

"How are you speaking so clearly, with all that distance between us?!" I was shouting inside my room, completely bewildered. "I just can, Karuga" Her reply didn't sound proud, but it still bothered me. "Our energies between us should be stretched thin into nothing by now! You're insane!" I called her insane. "I'm sure we're both insane, Karuga" She replied. "Not as insane as you are right now!" I stopped after that to calm myself. To be honest, it is a big help communicating with her on that planet. Though, it got me envious. Such as the power given to her very first Loyalist...

"After I arrive, what should I do? Should I gather them immediately?" She asked. I wanted them to appear together with the Zakana surfacing from the sands of the planet. "Yes, then wait for my command. I will have everything started then you can warp them in" After telling her that, I immediately summoned Ladrak. He appeared in my room for no more than three minutes.

"My Lord..." He kneeled down before me. "Take some warriors with you, and bring the Attractors with you. Plant them on the sands, encircling the Arkulan base. Go immediately" "Then I shall go..." It's as if he was waiting for this to happen, his response was almost hastily. "I will go down personally to one of our outposts to watch over your progress" I told him before dismissing him.

Once Ladrak left, I returned to focus on my mind. "I sent Ladrak to the planet. Once I got word of his success, I will tell you to warp them in" I told her. "Sure thing, see you there" With that, we both go on our way. I quickly moved and head towards my Siszha.

Somewhere far away from home, a lone Narukh'za entered the creepy dark planet, home of the high-threat alien lifeforms. The ancient power that helped the Narukh'za enter the planet was very powerful and it leaked its energy more than usual. Surely enough, the energy leak attracted every living alien on the planet and the Narukh'za can feel it. It's only a matter of time before they arrive and swarm her.

An hour later, the deployment of the Field Attractors is on the go. Karuga watches over them inside her personal spacecraft.

"Pick up the pace, Ladrak. The first Loyalist is waiting on the alien homeworld. We can't make her stay there for too long" I feel uneasy for a bit. I'm recalling the images that the expedition has taken of the alien planet. Almost everywhere was dark, I can almost feel the airlessness of the planet through the images. I don't think I can stand having to stay there for even an hour. I almost felt bad for Lurza'Far, but I can't let her leave empty-handed now. I'm sure she won't like that as well, after everything she went through to get there. Besides, if she's doing badly, she will just get out of there on her own. She definitely won't risk dying over my orders that she doesn't understand the reason for yet.

I just realized that I was nibbling on my finger, the spot was bleeding slightly and I had to force myself to stop. "How much time do you have until this is done, Ladrak?" I asked. "This should not take any longer, my Lord. We are almost done" He replied to me. I sighed deeply. After that, a voice came to my mind.

"Calm down, Karuga. I'm doing fine" Lurza'Far came through again. "You sound more nervous than I do!" She laughs at me. Good grief, I'm worried about her and she just laughs at me like that. "I appreciate your concern though, that means a lot" She said. "Coming here, I realize that this will be more difficult than I thought" I almost never hear her say 'difficult'. This pretty much says a lot about the planet. "Just a few minutes longer, Lurza'Far. You can get out there with the aliens the moment I say so" I told her to make her calmer.

"No worries. Take your time. I can handle these aliens for longer" Those were lies. She can feel the entire planet turning against her. Though blessed with supernatural powers, the alien outnumber her, greatly. Her army and allies are far, and no one else, even Kantala, is aware of her arrival on the planet, only Karuga does. For the first time, the first Loyalist felt powerless. The number of unfamiliar energies from unknown powers she feels is starting to increase dramatically. The amount of dangerous higher Zakana is enormous. There's no army to call for her aid to counter the amount of the aliens. Even if she destroyed the planet, it would cost her a significant amount of energy, including her own body's strength. She will be left all vulnerable in space, and the aliens roaming the space will tear her weak, floating body apart. It's that or she betrays the trust of her lifelong friend.

Hearing her friend get all concerned over her safety gives her relief. Everything she's feeling right now is new to her system. She felt like her life could end at any moment, the fear she feels being overwhelmed by the aliens all alone far from her home, and the nervous tone she hear from Karuga, the closeness she feels from her. 'This is something to talk about with Karuga' she thought as she readies herself.

"My Lord, an Arkulan skybot was seen by your warriors at the northern part and they retreated-" "-Retreated?!" I punched my screen in anger. "U-usually, when there are skybots around and detect us, an entire battalion of Arkulans arrive... So, they..." "Continue the mission! I won't look over them disobeying me!" Since when did my warriors start to worry about some petty floating robots?! "Yes, my Lord. I already told them not to abandon their task" I used my screen to locate the northern area where Ladrak said the warriors saw the skybot.

Fortunately, the warriors are back on the task at hand before I even see them slacking. Though a skybot was indeed floating steadily above them. "Tell them not to worry about the skybot, we will send an intervention if they decided to send forces against them" I told Ladrak. "Of course, my Lord..."

After a while, Kirin Solana's signature alerted the screen. I quickly jumped in action and dragged the screen where her signature appeared. They are quickly approaching Zan on their Lancers, where my warriors have built a portal for quick transportation. "What are they up to now?!" I can only imagine one thing... They're here to destroy the portal and the outpost itself. I quickly zoomed in on the screen and gather their conversation.

"-You will have to leave your Lancers away from their paths, away to a safe distance, and just go on foot from that point. Do your best not to alert them-" I heard their leader talking over Kirin. They're definitely aiming for the portal, they're heading to Zan to destroy it... This is probably the best time to start this whole thing... "Ladrak, are the Attractors ready yet?" I asked him.

"Just a few seconds now, my Lord. I'm watching over the last Attractor being planted deep down the sands" Ladrak replied. "Make haste. Kirin Solana and her children are making their way to Zan. The Attractors getting the Zakana over the sands will surely disrupt their travel. Activate them immediately after you're done" "Yes, my Lord" Just a few moments now... Lurza'Far can finally leave that horrible planet with its ugly aliens.

With that in mind, I returned to listen to the Arkulans once more. "Of course, you are all under my care. I take heavy responsibility for taking you guys out on a dangerous mission in your first week in-" Kirin Solana was talking about how dangerous their objective was, especially with untrained youths like them. But she gains confidence with her eyes, that she can protect them because of the technology it carries.

I can only see arrogance in that. Those eyes can only save a few lives. Soon, people will slip from those eyes' protection and die. I refuse to believe that every people were saved by those eyes, they must have seen death as well. I can agree it's an amazing technology, but it's not perfect. What they say about those eyes saving everyone's lives is an exaggeration.

"My Lord. We have activated the Field Attractors as you commanded. The Zakana was quick to react to them and the sands are trembling violently" Ladrak had a bit of a concerned tone. The moment I heard the activation of the Attractors, I immediately used my energies to communicate with Lurza'Far.

"Lurza'Far! You can warp them in now!" I waited for her response, but there was none. "Lurza'Far...?" Tension raised up within my body as I called her name one more time. "My Lord? Do you have any further commands?" Ladrak spoke to ask me, but I was too busy thinking about Lurza'Far. "Lurza'Far, speak to me!" I shouted, trying to reach her.

"My Lord, the northern Attractor has led the Zakana to travel to Zan! They're going to attack Zan!" Another problem rose for me. I tried to ignore it at first, but I had to address the issue. "Alert the outpost! Make sure to watch out for Kirin Solana as well! They're nearby!" Kirin Solana and her young warriors must have noticed the disturbance and already stopped in their tracks. I wish I could watch over them, but I still have one more problem.

"Lurza'Far! If you're hearing this, warp the aliens out, get out of there!" I tried reaching out to her once again. There I realize, the only reason I can communicate with her is she was the one initiating the communication. My own ancient powers can't perform such a lengthy connection as she does.

I leaned towards my screen to listen to the Arkulans. "The activities under the sands are high, Kirin. There are Zakana all over you" Their leader is already warning them. They were aware that the outpost they are supposed to attack is now being overrun by the aliens. Confirming their halt on their plans, I moved my screen towards Zan. The garrison of the outpost is actively defending, firing in all directions. "Ladrak, the portal in Zan cannot be destroyed!" I commanded a priority to Ladrak.

"Karuga" I stood up from my seat after I heard her voice. "You can warp them in and get out of there!" I immediately told her to get out of the planet with the aliens. "Alright... Warping..." Her breathing was coarse and struggling for air. It must have been tough for her, having to move all around fighting off the higher Zakana on almost an airless planet. Though I'm glad she's fine, I'm slowly sensing her energies somewhere in the sands. "Ladrak, I want you to look for the first Loyalist. I will handle Zan from here" I commanded Ladrak to look wherever Lurza'Far will appear. "Have her treated in my ship, don't let anyone know of this" I also told him to keep her status away from everyone.

"Yes, my Lord. I will immediately send her to your Great Bastion" With his reply, he flew away from Zan. It was time for me to go down to Zan to protect the portal, either from the Zakana or the Arkulans.

I switched Siszha to manual drive and took control. "Zan, clear way for my landing" I aimed to land in the middle of the outpost which they cleared off. With anticipation, I land Siszha to the outpost and waits for the Arkula to arrive.
