Chereads / Queen Kohra / Chapter 68 - Episode 23

Chapter 68 - Episode 23

Quella's underwater palace was huge. It was made out of a type of white stone, shimmering like diamonds. It had many rooms, halls, and underground routes and was located in the center of the kingdom. The palace was built like that because of Quella's original size, so she could move however she wanted.

The kingdom itself is bigger than any human Kingdom in Ilan's home continent, stunning him. In fact, the only place that can match the palace in the whole world was Kohra's newly constructed palace.

Ilan is walking underwater but he strangely doesn't feel wet. The houses he passed had curious-looking Soujin, aquatic beasts, and merpeople looking out. They all had a blue teardrop crystal in the middle of their forehead, even to the newborns.

Quella's appearance had long changed. Her skin glittered like the walls of the palace and a white jade gem crown rested on her head. It had diamonds and a precious stone he couldn't identify fitted on it. She smiled at him and led him to a huge throne that rested at the top of the castle. From there, he could see the kingdom's various inhabitants from far and wide.

"My people, your queen has returned with a new hope. This is a mate I've chosen, a descendant of Iyori and Anni. He had a bloodline purity of 70 percent and he is an unawakened Soujin" Quella declared.

Ilan looked at her in shock.

"Why do you think Saw spared your life?"

He remembered that pillar of light that brought Lesker. But, before running, Saw could've easily killed him off. He blanched.

"Soujins would always identify their kin. Your parents died before they could awaken your blood. They were killed by humans and that's why Saw killed your friends. He couldn't be bothered with a hunting group that would've never found him even if they tried. He thought they had done something to you or brainwashed you"

"No, you're lying!"

"Hmm, okay. Take this then. If you don't awaken your blood, then I'm lying" she said, passing him a blue teardrop gem. Saw was standing beside the throne and was wearing the blue teardrop like everyone else, wearing a guilty expression.

"Before your parents died, they were the two guardian gods of the Eastern Ocean. Their existence kept the balance of the ocean. Now that they're gone, the power balance of the Eastern ocean is disturbed. I cannot use my powers because they would just destroy the ocean. Saw maintains the position of one god and his bloodline purity is as good as yours but there isn't a second god. If it continues like this, the Eastern Ocean would die.

Once you awaken your blood, you would immediately reach godhood and be crowned as the second guardian god"

"I don't agree"

".....Okay, I understand. I have already introduced you. We'll unlock your blood when you're ready"

The people dispersed and Quella returned to the palace with Ilan. She had many things to do so she left him to his own devices. He stayed in his huge room for a while before going out because he was bored and hungry.

He came across many merpeople who still looked at him with curious eyes. It made him uncomfortable but he gave them a slight nod. The palace was like one giant labyrinth and he found himself at several dead ends. Walking for hours, his energy and magi were running low. There was heavy pressure on him.

The water that surrounded them was magix water. It was a cluster of pure water elements enclosed by a space barrier. The whole kingdom, as huge as it was, was living in a space barrier in the eastern ocean. If someone were to dive into the eastern ocean and search for years, they still wouldn't find the Eastern Ocean Kingdom. Only if they have been allowed access would they be able to enter and exit at will.

But for powerful people like celestials, it was easy to find the edge of the space barrier. To their eyes which could see the invisible and peer into space, the space barrier was like a giant white egg, the surface almost transparent.

Kohra's index finger poked the barrier with a bit of chaos magix and there was a sizzling sound. A small hole the size of her finger was formed. Anak whose heavenly flames were useless in this situation stared at her enviously. Chaos was the beginning and end of all things. There was nothing it couldn't cut through. That was why all the celestials were terrified of the Deity of Chaos.

The hole sealed up immediately and none of the magix water spilled out neither did the normal ocean water enter.

"Tch, so vigilant" Anak commented.

"Our message has been delivered. She'll be coming soon. Speaking of which, why did you come back?" Kohra asked with narrowed eyes.

"Britta sent me back. Arvi and I made a huge mess and she'll have our heads if we disturb spring cleaning. I brought him along" Anak replied, a little orange head peeking out. The yellow slit eyes looked at the other people there and let out a happy snort. The baby dragon flew out of his father's robes and onto Kohra's neck.

Kohra plucked the baby dragon and pet it. He was cute, unlike his ever grumpy father. The barrier shook and a human-sized hole opened up. Three people walked out, one of which they were more or less familiar with. Aiyla and Bruon were surprised to see the other two with blue staffs were both mage supreme.

"My name is Saw and I'm a Soujin god serving under Queen Quella. She asked me to escort you to the palace and plead with her excellency Kohra to not burn her core"

"I make no promises" Kohra said and they followed Saw and the guards inside. The hole closed up and the eastern ocean was as calm and silent as it was before.
