Chapter 51 - Episode 7

The next few days were quite hectic for the four of them. Lesker spent hours on end organizing his writings of different sorts and making multiple copies with the spells the old man taught him.

As someone who possesses magix innately, he is able to perform basic spells. Spells for lighting up a lamp, boiling water, or moving things were easy for him to perform because they required little magi and a simple word.

If he wanted to perform more complex tasks, he would have to train his magi and become a Mage Seedling. The more complex the spell, the more magi required.

Ilan had an easier time setting up the stall. He made the appropriate furniture with his magix and placed spells on everything. He also got an idea and set up umbrellas, tables, and chairs outside and inside for those who wanted to read. He hired a mercenary to look after the stall and went to help Lesker.

Quella and Yuli went around the city looking for ideas in their advertisement. While looking around, they saw posters all around. Some were government announcements, tax notices, and wanted posters.

From that, they got a brilliant idea. They decided to make a poster advertising their business and post it with the approval of the Liege Lord. While Quella went to seek approval of the Liege Lord, Yuli went to relay this to the two men.

Of course, as soon as they heard it, they began planning and designing the posters. By the time they were done, it was already late in the evening. They went to the inn's diner to eat dinner and wait for Quella to return.

After a few hours, when the two moons were at their peak, Quella returned. The two men loitering at the lobby of the inn quickly rushed to her side. She looked relatively unscathed, just tired.

"Miss Quella, where have you been? We were so worried" Lesker said with a frantic expression.

"After leaving the Lord's office, I went to send a message to my family in the capital. After that, I went to survey the night market. I'm a little tired right now so may I leave now?" she replied, her eyes drooping.

"Of course. Let's go up" Ilan said. The three went up and retired for the night. The next morning all of them woke up quite late so they ended up having brunch. Before they returned to their daily tasks, they asked Quella if she got permission from the Liege Lord.

"It took a while to convince him but the negotiation went smoothly. He said we could put the posters around the market square for a limited amount of time. That suits us perfectly since we won't stay here for long"

"Excellent. We'll start printing today. You can join us now, can't you Miss Quella?" Ilan asked.

"I suppose I can. How long are we staying here anyway?"

"For two weeks more. We'll need to get a move on. We plan to open for business by the end of this week which means the posters need to go around tomorrow" Lesker replied.

"Alright. Let's step up, shall we?"

The process was long and hectic but the four of them managed to make their deadline. Yuli and Quella were in charge of putting up the posters since the permit was with Quella. They stirred up interest within the city since what they were doing was unprecedented. They got stopped by the city guards but were left alone once they saw the permit from the Liege Lord.

The day to open the store soon arrived. They picked the day when the adventurers and soldiers were rushing into the city to pick up supplies. Their poster was eye-catching among the mundane posters so their stall aroused the interests of many. Adventurers and normal people flocked to their shop.

Lesker and Quella were swamped for the first few days. The books Lesker wrote was really useful to the adventurers and the other collections he got from the old man was popular with the other people. Their business was booming and they managed to rack in a huge profit in the first week. However, all of them were dead tired so they closed the stall for a day.

"Haa, I'm so tired. I feel like my arms would drop off anytime soon" Ilan complained, stretching.

"I hear you brother. Who knew our books would be so popular?" Lesker responded. He was lounging on a chair, relaxing.

"Well, it's all thanks to our efforts. We just need to do this for another three days and be ready to be on the road again. I'm tired just saying it"

"Well, there is no rush"

"If you're saying that because of me Lesker then don't bother. The reason I'm here is to help you with your problems. If we make enough money to visit the mage supreme and help with your memory loss, then I would feel fulfilled. It doesn't matter if I'm tired now"

"Ilan...you're too good to me. I don't deserve it"

Ilan just smiled. It doesn't matter what he tells Lesker. It might seem like he saved Lesker's life but the truth is, the one who was saved, was him.
