Kohra
Sneaking into the royal palace of Biefa wasn't that hard. I just had to turn my chaos magix to the max and endure the pain it brought me. Halfway into the journey, without a concrete plan, I realised how stupid who I had done was.
I, who was hailed the greatest Queen Ataliya had seen in years, was being stupid. I curbed my urge to rain destruction down on the palace and ran out of there.
I had a million things on my mind and much more to worry about.
Was Ataliya doing fine?
Was my family okay?
Was Lesker okay?
Would my child be okay?
Would the flower be available or would I have to keep looking for it?
Would the ritual be successful?
Would I be a good mother?
Would I be, good enough?
I ran into the cold forest and kept running. Wherever my feet took me, I just kept running. Everything I've been through, all that I am, everything was crumbling. My mind was crumbling.
The curse began to erupt from beneath my skin and I stopped running. The disguise I had on melted away and so did my clothes. My magix wrapped around my all at once and I could feel my bones cracking. I was turning into a monster and it was devouring my mind. There was only one thing on my mind, and it was to destroy.
"Kohra, you have to calm down" I hear Eline say from above the tree. She lands beside me and tries to calm me. It isn't working.
"Kohra, please. I swear on my life if the flower isn't given you, I'll get it for you. Please, trust me"
"Your life means nothing to me Eline"
"But I am useful, your majesty. Please calm down. You could hurt your child like this"
I glared at Eline and my anger began to diminish.
"Is there a cold river around here?"
"There's one just a few miles from here. It should be the coldest one around"
"Don't follow me"
I go in the direction she had pointed out and see the river soon enough. Since my clothes had already melted away, I enter the river immediately. Steam rises from the freezing river and the curse begins to calm.
A few minutes after, almost all my fury had dissipated and I began to observe the river. Where I sat was the shallow part and the river was much deeper than it looked.
Since I had nothing to do, I went for a dive. The water would be normally freezing for anyone but since everything came from chaos and I have chaos magix in abaundance, I could easily turn elements around me back to chaos for a short time and control it. It was why I was so powerful after all.
As I swam deeper, the water became warmer. In fact, the water began to heat up so I wondered if there was a volcano nearby. I saw a cave in at a side of the water and I folloeed it till I got to another shore. This time I could see the larva flowing into the water. There really was a volcano there.
Inside the volcano was a small cave and in the cave grew flowers. I could feel the vitality and magix emanating from there even where I stood. I went closer to check and gasped at the sight of what I saw.
It was the Techa flower! It was the only one of its kind and the other flowers surrounded it. I was overjoyed and wanted to pick it out when I heard a loud hiss.
I looked back to see a giant creature coming out of the larva. It must be the guardian of the flower. Well, given the location and rarity of the flower, it mustn't be the easy to obtain.
"Sorry, I would have to kill you to get this flower. I really need it"
"Do you?" the guardian says to me. I stop gathering my magix and look at it. I was surprised it could talk.
"Don't be too surprised I can talk"
"Well then, I need this flower"
"Do you really, Kohra? You don't have to"
"Are you a servant of the gods?"
"Of course not. I have my own motivations. I'm just more interested in the fact that your thoughts are complicated"
"So, you can read my mind. If you can, then you must know how much I need this flower"
"You could always get the flower from the tournament. Why do you want this too? Is it because of him?"
"I don't think that concerns you too much. Let me have it and show me a way out of here. I wouldn't want to kill a sentient beast such as yourself"
"I would only let you take it under one condition. Look into my eyes"
I hesitated but I shoved my fear aside.
"Fine!"
I looked into the eyes of the creature. What I say, was a memory of my old self.
My father was just a passing fling for my mother because of his charms so she picked him and added him to her harem. He wasn't as influential or powerful as the other men in the palace so he was looked down upon. After playing with him for a few years, she lost interest and moved on.
Within those few years, I was born. I was the weakest out of all my peers and they often picked on me. My father took care of me and would train me daily. He would also take me down to town and taught me to read.
My mother, when she had time, would come visit me and talk to me. She gave me presents and everything I wanted so even if she wasn't there, I felt her affection for me.
Everything changed when my divine spark was ripped out of me. She ruined me life and I'm going to get it back.
