I silently groaned in annoyance seeing how many suits do I have to prepare for his work today. I really hate this part where I had to pick the proper suit that would suit him. I wasn't that good at picking the perfect suit for him but whatever I lay on his bed, he would always wear it.
"Damn it," I mumbled under my breath while my eyes were straying on his cabinet. His walk-in closet was superbly decorated with so many suits, ties, casual or formal shoes, casual clothes, and accessories that cost a fortune. "What suit?" I asked myself, eyeing at his tons of dashing suits hanging on the rack.
I am so closed to call Marlou so he could help me pick the right suit but I decided not to. I picked the Armani charcoal grey suit and pants out from the rack and hanged them on my left arm. I picked a pale blue shirt and dark blue tie. Then I placed them on his bed. I hastened my pace and picked his Christian Louboutin formal black shoes and placed it beside his bed.
"Shit," I cursed as I looked at my wristwatch. It was almost 6:30 in the morning and I had to prepare his clothes before that time. Probably he would be done eating his breakfast downstairs. I went back to his walk-in closet and approached the drawers where he kept his collection of wristwatches. I carefully took from the compartment one of his favorite luxury wristwatches, Blancpain le brassus minute repeater carousel.
"Crap." The sound of my heels clicking on the floor was the only thing I heard as I almost ran back to his room and placed his wristwatch on his bed. "Done!" I sighed and acted wiping my sweat from my forehead. I even placed my hands on my waist while thinking about what I haven't processed.
I hummed softly before I decided to go out, frowning a little. I opened the door and turned right but I instantly held my left chest upon almost colliding with my boss.
Sebastian Huntington.
"S-Sir Sebastian, you scared me," I said, taking a deep breath after realizing what happened.
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Why, yes, you just didn't notice my presence. You are too preoccupied." I frowned a little that made him smirk a little. "Go downstairs and grab your breakfast," he commanded and entered his room.
"Yes, sir."
I did what he said and went straight to the dining room. I met Lourdes, a middle-aged 50s woman, and Sir Sebastian's trusted housekeeper upon storming in.
"Good morning, Lourdes!" I greeted.
Lourdes offered me a heartwarming smile. "Ms. Cejay, please have your breakfast." She placed a plate as to where I was about to sit.
"Thank you." I grabbed a piece of bacon, toasted bread, sausage, ham, scrambled egg, and baked beans. I was about to stand up but then Lourdes placed a coffee with whip cream on top. I looked up. "Lourdes, you don't have to..."
She smiled again. "You should get used to this. I'd been doing this to you before." Her sultry, slurry voice was making my heart warm as she chuckled.
"But thank you for this." I raised the cup, like asking for a toss. "Have you eaten already?" I asked, suddenly worried that I am having my breakfast right now yet Lourdes and the other maids haven't eaten yet.
"No need to worry about us. We will eat later after you eat. Just call me if you need anything. I'll be just there in the kitchen."
Quite worried but I just nodded and smiled. I watched her leave out of my sight before I continued grabbing my breakfast.
Alone.
Again.
I just have to endure this since this would only happen on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The rest of the days is I have to eat my breakfast at my condo.
I couldn't believe it has been a year since I agreed to be his personal assistant. I don't even know why I would even agree on this even though I resigned as the marketing head of Huntington Inc.
"Hypocrite," I mumbled under my breath, checking my phone. I watched some YouTubers who are playing virtual games as I finished my breakfast.
I fixed my plate and emptied my coffee then went to the kitchen to wash my plates. I looked for Lourdes and the other maids named Shera, Kai, Phila. They were probably outside doing gardening.
I silently washed my used plate and cup. I hastened my move because I don't want Lourdes to catch me that I had washed the dishes. They would probably scold me later. But it doesn't matter.
I settled myself in the living room while waiting for my boss. Ever since I became his personal assistant, I had to pick him his everyday suit because that was my job.
My eyes decided to roam around and eyed his furniture that cost a fortune. I couldn't believe he was all alone and had no family yet. He was freaking rich that was why this expensive furniture was just a dime for him.
I went near the furnace and checked out his photos displayed. The photos displayed were from those recent events. He really looked so strikingly handsome. I don't even know why I didn't even know he was dating someone. Or maybe he was dating someone. I should have known though because I was the one who was arranging his personal matters privately.
I'm quite confused about why there were no photos of his teenage years or even his young adult life. For the whole year I was here, I had never seen any pictures of his young age.
"Let's go."
My heart jumped out of my ribcage upon hearing Sir Sebastian's manly, deep voice. I turned to my right and saw him in the middle of the stairs, staring down at me. I immediately distanced myself away from the furnace and nodded.
"Noted, sir," I said formally.
He walked towards me and walked past right through me. I smelled his Paco Rabbane Poor Homme. Its scent has a nice floral touch with a luxurious, soapy fragrance. It was the perfume Sir Sebastian made me pick five months ago. Paco Rabbane is his favorite perfume brand.
I took my handbag that was on the couch and followed Sir Sebastian. Until now, I was still keeping my distance away from him. I could get used to his temper but I wouldn't get along with him out of office hours. I remained professional and never get along with him.
I was too occupied when I suddenly got bumped to his back. My eyes widened and I quickly stepped back.
"Is something wrong, Sir Sebastian?" I asked, almost frowning at my question.
Why did he suddenly halt from walking? What is the matter with him?
His masculine, toned back suddenly vanished when he spun around to look down on me. His cold, void of emotional eyes were seething on me.
"Take my phone upstairs. It's on the bedside table of my room."
My mouth almost dropped from his order. Instead of barking him back about how stupid he was for forgetting his phone, I nodded.
"I will, sir."
I put down my bag on the couch and went upstairs. I'd been in his room so many times so I get what he meant. My first time coming here was like I am totally overwhelmed by how huge his house was. The huge is completely bulk and massive but looks lonely and empty.
I twisted the doorknob of the door of his room and was met by dark-colored interior design from the ceiling up to his bed with matching white, black, and brown color. I spotted his phone on the bedside table and took it.
The sound of my clicking heels was the only thing I could hear as I was emerging out of his room. Then my eyes went straight to the door across the room of my boss. I saw it was slightly opened.
"That's strange..." I murmured.
As far as I know, Sir Sebastian didn't leave that particular room unlocked. I had never seen it unlocked ever since I stepped on his house. I'd been unto the other part of the rooms of Sir Sebastian but he made a restriction not go inside there.
I blinked and got curious. Also, quite worried. It was supposed to be locked as far as I heard from Sir Sebastian. His order to Lourdes was to keep that room locked in any circumstances.
I got to see a shelf peeking behind the door full of books. Quite interesting... But I don't think that was a library because the library and office of Sir Sebastian were downstairs.
"What's taking you so long?"
I snapped back when I heard the loud, almost banging voice of Sir Sebastian. I decided to look away and hurried downstairs.
I met his knitted forehead and sharp glare that could make me standstill on my ground. Almost. But I am not that afraid.
"I apologize for the inconvenience, sir. Here's your phone."
He took it from my hand. I slowly breathed in when I felt a sudden jolt of electricity flowed under my skin the moment our skin touched. I gulped and diverted my attention to my bag.
"What's taking you so long to go downstairs, Ms. Cejay?"
His baritone, stoic voice was the evidence of how irritated he was from me even though I had already given what he wanted.
Should I answer him properly? Should I tell him what concerns me?
I cleared my throat. "I saw the room across your room was slightly opened, sir. I was about to—"
"Did you come near it?"
My eyes widened from his unexpected, hastened move as he grabbed my arm harshly with his eyes burning with annoyance. The tone of his voice had given a hint of dangerous and jinx tone that could make me want to dig my foot below the ground.
I remained my cool and met his sharp stare. "I did not come near it, okay? I am just informing you," I said, half-annoyed then I jerked his hand off me. I won't let him tolerating this kind of abuse. I had been a Taekwondo master so any move from him would be ended up being bruised.
But Sir Sebastian narrowed his eyes at me before he went upstairs. I suddenly irked when I heard him closing the door with so much force.
I furrowed my eyebrows. What was so wrong with him acting like an asshole? It was not like I attempted to come near it. I rolled my eyes mentally.
When he went downstairs, he walked past me and went to his garage. I could see his dark, menacing, and eerie aura levitating around him.
Geez! The old man was very grumpy today. Way more grumpy than before.
He picked his Maserati car and entered the driver's seat. Feeling awkward around him, I hopped onto his passenger seat.
This was gonna be a long ride for me.
For sure.
