"Mr. Marquis, why do you think I've been doing all of this? Preparing the ship, getting a down payment, and gathering the best crew?"
The Marquis leaned in and set his elbows on the table as he looked at me with eyes full of thought. I hid my shaking hands behind my back. The plan that I've been working so hard on can not be ruined right now. I have to curb back the doubt on him. I stood up and walked around the room.
"I have done all of this for the sake of your son Mr. Marquis. He himself had proposed to me when I woke up the first day that I've come here. Is that not true?"
The Marquis nodded as the doubt started to abate.
"How can I be assured of your sincerity Mila? My son was very bewildered on the day that you brought him here with your tattered clothes. It could be that you yourself tore your clothes and brought my son. After all I have never seen the two of you talk or go on dates as lovers do."
What a nice retort old man. I stood behind the Marquis as I said.
