Rin
I couldn't stop, if I did I was dead. Dead. That didn't sound all to bad to her right now. NO! She knew she couldn't stop, she had to keep going. The sounds of horses hooves touching ground slowly grew louder and louder, How was a mere girl, supposed to outrun horses? Rin thought to herself. That slight hesitation was enough for everything to take a turn for the worse, one stray root of a tree was enough to send Rin face first into the dirt. By the time she was able to get up she was already surrounded, one man dismounted his horse and walked closer to Rin. "Finally, i've found you." The man said as he grabbed Rin's wrist pulling her closer to him, the grip was tight enough to make the strong girl wince. She knew she had to get out, and quick, her mother had told her stories about what the royals did to her family, but for some reason she couldn't move, she was petrified in fear. Soon she felt a sharp pain to her head, and everything went black.
"Rin hurry we must flee!" Her mothers urgent tone got Rin into a frenzy. She knew her family was hated by the empire, had they found them out? The sounds of hooves answered Rins question immediately. She and her mother ran out the door into the forest. Rin knew she was stronger than she looked, and could run tens of miles without tiring, but she worried for her mother, who was almost fifty, could she make it? As they sprinted from the place she had called home for the past 5 years, her mother seeing Rins sad expressions said, "It will be alright we will find a new hide away." Running away was nothing knew to the mother, having been on the run her whole life from the empire and the royal family, she was used to picking up everything and leaving quickly, Rin not so much, for only having to leave once before she was frightened.
After a few hours of running, Rin judges everything seemed to be going to plan, the soldiers had no idea where they were because of the dense forest, that had many different paths running in all different directions. Looking at her mother's red face, and her heavy breathing she could tell that she needed to rest, Ren knowing they were safe said, "let's stop here, and build a shelter for the night, we can continue tomorrow." Her mother glad for a break agreed. If only Rin knew stopping there would be her downfall.
Rin was awakened in the shabby tent her and her mother had quickly set up, by the sound of horses, and men shouting. Rin quickly awoke her mother, and watched the color drop from her face, she whispered to Rin, " Run and don't turn back, you must live and cannot be captured, I love you my daughter." and with that the sorrowful goodbye she shoved her daughter out the back of the tent, and exited the front ready to take on the pursuers knowing she would die but hopefully her daughter would escape. Rin ran tears streaming down her face, she knew her mother had just sacrificed herself for her, as if she had turned to a panther she ran through the forest with surprising speed, only looking back once and witnessing with blurry vision the sight of a sword piercing her mother's torso.
She knew she had to run even though her capture was inevitable, and soon she found herself alone, yet surrounded by horses, and regretting everything.
Suddenly Rin awoke in a bed, a searing pain in her head, and a cold sweat on her forehead left from the terrible recollection of the day prior. She was captured. Rin quickly tried to stand up by found her arms shackled together and a chain running from her ankle to one of the posts of the bed. Her gazed slowly moved around the room until she saw the man that approached her when she was surrounded in the forest sitting in a chair, at the corner of the room with a slight frown on his face.
Shen Yi
Shen yi was clearly annoyed, although it was exciting to chase and capture the girl, he did not enjoy being tasked with watching her. Here he was the Prince of the great empire, playing babysitter to the girl he knocked unconscious. Although she was beautiful to look at, she was an enemy to his family, and her tossing and turning in her sleep only made him more annoyed.
Right when he was so bored and about to ask another guard to watch her she shot awake. She was obviously oblivious to him since he was sitting in a dark corner of the room, he watched her pull at the chains restricting her before looking at where she was, and when her eyes saw him they widened in fright. Shen Yi knew he had to make a lasting impression to make her know he was the boss and she was merely a bunny. Standing quickly he walked over to her, and asked in a rough, annoyed and angry voice, " What is your name?" "You should already know that, don't you?" Her response baffled the prince, the fear in the girls eyes disappearing. "Let's not forget who is free here, and who is chained up. Now what is your name?" That phrase would make the girl answer his question and the prince knew it, but the audacity of this girl continued none the less. "Why don't you ask the Emperor, he should know." She responded giving him a cold glare. Although the glare was meant to offend or even scare the Prince he was only reminded of the glares his mother would give him when he swatted away suiters like flies. He couldn't contain it and he laughed. "Ok fine then, if you don't answer my questions I won't hesitate to slit your throat." The prince said his gaze turning from amusement to a deadly glare directed at the bunny he saw in front of him.
