I woke up early the next morning to smell of french toast. I got out of bed almost falling over and hurry to the kitchen.
"Morning senor Cody, breakfast is ready." Rosa says while she fixes me a plate and smiles.
"Thank you so much Rosa and my favorite!" I tell her when I grab my plate from her.
I sit down at the counter and eat my food, and hear mom and dad coming down stairs.
"Yes honey I'll take time off for your birthday and everything. Plus we be heading home after your birthday." dad tells her when they come into the kitchen.
"Morning Cody!" they said when they saw me eating at the counter.
"Morning! Ya'll better eat before you guys leave." I tell them when they come in.
They just smile and laugh as the grab a plate of food from Rosa, they got their coffee and sat at the table and ate breakfast. Not long after that you hear the little one's feet running across the floor for breakfast.
"Morning!!!" they both said at the same time. I don't know how they can be full of energy and wide awake at 7:30am, I'm hardly awake.
Dad and mom finish their food and finished getting ready for work when Stacey and David finally came down for breakfast. I look at them while I help fix the little one's food.
"Sleep good?" I ask while I put the plates down for Abby and Brandon.
They both nodded and grab some coffee trying to wake up. I finish my food and made sure they got food and ate. Rosa puts the rest away and starts to clean up.
"Thank you Rosa. Come on Abby and Brandon, yall have to get ready for the day." I tell them as they finish eating and rush them off upstairs to get dress.
Rosa smiles and continues to clean, I look at the others. "We have to go get clothes for the event today don't we?"
Stacey just bangs her head on the counter "I forgot!!! Damn it!"
We laugh at her and shake our heads. But we all finish up and went off to get ready. I head to my room strip my clothes off and took a hot shower. The water rushing down my body as I wash my hair and use my soap that makes skin smooth and soft. I shut the water off and get it drying off. The best part is shaking my hair when it's wet, I wrap my towel around my waist as I brush my teeth.
I head to my closet and start to get clothes out, I pull out a pair of skinny jeans, my favorite dark blue and black vans, and my soft tank top. There was a knock on my door.
"Yes?" I ask as I put on my boxers and start to put my jeans on.
David comes in "Are you decent? I'm already dress." he says laughing.
"Yeah I'm almost finished." walking out my closet while I put my tank top on.
I grab my shoes and we head downstairs to wait on the others. We hear Brandon hurrying towards the stairs, I hurry to put my shoes on. He likes you to chase him after breakfast. David and I waited for him by the stairs.
Brandon runs towards the edge of the stairs and sees us. Then runs the other way making us chase him upstairs. David hurries before me after him and I walk slowly down the hall pass Stacey's room and I hear her helping Abby get ready.
"Ahh!! I got you!!" I hear David yell when finds Brandon hiding behind the couch.
I smile and lean against a door frame and wait for them. Stacey's door open and I turn back and see her and Abby come out and dresses with their hair done.
"Looks like everyone is ready, and their down there." I point down the hall before she asked.
She laughs and we head outside to the truck as we wait for David and Brandon.
My phone goes off and it's text from dad.
Dad: Cody, I need ya'll to pick up something for me when you guys get to the store. They are expecting yall and it be wrapped up too.
Cody: Ok dad, I'll make sure we get it and give it to you when you get home.
Dad: Thank you son!
"Who was that?" Stacey ask while getting Abby in her car seat.
"Dad, he was letting me know that mom's gift from him is at the store and it's wrapped just to get it for him." I tell her and look at her, "need help?"
She gives me the finger and then gets Abby buckled, and looks up to see the other two coming outside. "Finally, I swear those two are slower than us combine"
We bust out laughing, as Brandon gets in a puts his seat belt on and we all get in and head to the store. Abby enjoys car rides, she likes to look out the window and watch the scenery. We arrive at the boutique La Blair, and I grab Abby and head inside with the others. David and Brandon go inside first, then me and Abby, followed by Stacey. I sit Abby down so she can go with Stacey to pick out something to where.
I go over to check out and the lady smiles and ask "Hello, how may I help you?"
"Yes my dad Mr. Billings has a package or something that we needed to pick up." I tell her as I look around for some clothes.
"Ah yes, let me go get it while you look around." She smiles and heads to the back.
We look around for clothes to wear, I find a pair of jeans, a burgundy dress shirt and a bracelet. David finds a white dress shirt with silver stripes and dress pants. He finds something similar for Brandon but with blue strips. Stacey finds a silver floor length dress that cuts low in the back with a key hole for the chest. She finds a pink skirt and white shirt that goes with the skirt for Abby.
We got the clothes at the check out in time for the lady to come back from the back with the manager who is holding a small box wrapped up.
"Here you go and it's already paid for, and I take that yall found some clothes to wear?" she says with a smile and laugh.
Stacey makes small talk while she rings up everything and we pay for it. She grabs the little ones while me and David grab all the clothes. We head to the truck and put everything away, just Abby and Brandon's stomach growled indicating that their hungry.
David calls dad to see what he's doing for lunch while Stacey calls mom to see what she's doing for lunch. I get the little ones buckled in and get in the driver seat.
"Looks like were having lunch with dad at the sea food where you look at all the boats." David tells when he hangs up.
"Funny mom said the same thing, so we better get over there then." Stacey tells when she gets off the phone, but starts texting.
I start the truck and head towards the restaurant where we supposed to meet them. I pull in and help unload the little ones, while Stacey grabs dad's gift for mom. I look up to see dad pull in and parking next to us.
"Hey dad's here so better hand him the gift before mom gets here and sees it" I tell Stacey as I get Abby onto the sidewalk with Brandon.
We greet dad and he puts the gift in his car in time mom pulls in. She gets out and comes and hugs us all and we head inside to eat. Mom is holding Abby while is playing with Brandon, we wait for someone to take us to our seats. I look at the view while waiting, and before I get to chance to look more we get taken to our table.
We take our seats and order our drinks, I get a tea, Stacey and mom get water, David and Dad get Pepsi and Brandon and Abby get Lemonade. We take our time in ordering food, all ordering different things. But I was looking forward to the grilled shrimp, which is my favorite seafood ever. As we wait for our food and everyone is talking, I'm looking out the window and the view.
I get so distracted that I didn't notice that my food was in front of me till I got hit with the yummy smell. I cover myself and laugh causing everyone else to smile and laugh, we start to dig in. All you hear is laughter, conversations, and sounds of enjoying the food.
"Stacey is Danny coming to the event? It's been awhile since we seen him." mom asked taking a sip of her water.
She nods since she is chewing her food, but swallows it. "Yeah he's coming. He be getting there when we get there the day before. So he'll be here for your birthday." she smiles and continues to eat.
We all continue to eat our food till we are stuff. Dad takes care of the bill, while everyone else gets up and heads outside and waits for him. Dad comes out after paying and he hugs us all and kisses mom and whispers to us thanking us. Mom hugs us and gets in her car and heads back to work and then dad follows suit. The rest of us get the little ones in the truck and we head back home to relax.
I pull into the drive and up to the front door, David gets out to get all the clothes to bring them inside. While me and Stacey got the little ones out the truck and they rush inside. We get inside and separate the clothes and put them away in our rooms. I come out of room changed into shorts and head outside to relax on the beach a little bit. While relaxing on the beach David comes and joins me.
"You ok? You seem out of it. Like I know it's been years since you last dated but I'm worried." he ask looking at me.
"I have my moments that I'm not which I won't lie about. But I'll be ok, cause I just have to protect myself so I don't keep getting hurt and everything. Like I don't get a chance to date you know." I tell him and sit up looking towards the ocean.
"But it's not easy though David, but I'm still here aren't I?" I look at him.
He sits there and thinks, then tells me. "Yeah that is true, your still here. Your one of my little brothers it's my job to worry about you."
I smile and nod my head "Yeah that is true, plus we have to worry about you in the next few days though. I'll be fine."
After relaxing on the beach for a few hours. We headed inside where the others are and continue our day and night. Mom and dad got home before dinner and they told us about their day while we ate dinner. But that night everyone was exhausted and went to sleep early.
