The sunlight glistened on the surfaces of the prosthetics in the case. A right arm, left leg, and a left eye. All three were metallic black with blue detailed lines.
Demo wiggles his nubs, Swor looks at him and then the prosthetics.
"You and I don't have any experience in anything medical. Just basics in first aid" Swor says to them.
They look at Miri and she shakes her head in response. Demo sighs.
"I think that there is a small town not too far south from here. It's just a ways past those outcroppings. We can see if they have a doctor skilled enough for this" Demo said as he grabs a long stick and lifts himself up with it and leans on it.
His right eye glows silver. As a black blob forms on his stubs. It extends and forms a black arm and leg.
Miri a bit confused, asks " why are you going through this when you can do that".
"In my current condition it takes a lot to use this ability while my recovery ability is trying to repair the damage" he said his face was red as his breathing was starting to be labored.
"You don't look too good, Demo" Swor said seeing his friend's current state.
"Let's get going, just passed those three stones right" Miri said as her eyes glow
*instant warp* She creates and activates the required ability.
She grabbed the cable and placed her hand on Demo's shoulder. Swor placed his hand on Demo's other shoulder. There is a sudden flash of golden light as they warp.
They appear at the base of the stones.
" We will have to leave our supplies here for now" Swor said as Miri set the cable down on the supplies.
"The town will be just a little ways past the other side of these formations." Demo said, lifting himself with some effort.
Swor puts his arm over his shoulder. He smiled softly and Demo grunted but accepted.
"It's only until we get you better" Swor said as he looked at Miri.
She nodded *camouflage* Miri thought her eyes were still glowing as she created the next ability.
She faces the organized pile of crates and lifts her hands. A sudden warmth of light is emitted from her hands and the supplies suddenly look like a natural rock formation.
*Remote emitter with surface match* She created a ball of light and placed it at the foot of the stone.
The illusion shivered a bit as the two connected. She breathes breathes a sigh of relief.
"That will power the illusion for three hours, without needing me to keep the ability active" she said as she helped Swor with Demo.
They continued on their way. Pacing along for about 20 minutes when they heard children laughing and people calling out. As well as the sound of carts moving on cobblestone streets and other sounds.
They continued until the forest opened and they could see the town. Cottages and trees, ivy crept along the walls of a few of the buildings. Children playing on the sidewalks. Carriages carrying travelers and carts full of supplies pulled by horses.
Occasional vendors selling their goods. Customers with bags and baskets picking things out.
The town bustled with life as other pedestrians passed each other, talking about the day and gossip.
The three of them looked around reading the signs on each vendor and house.
Barber, dentist, bakers, carpenter, taverns, flower shops.
Finally they see what they are looking for. Almost at the end of the street there read a sign.
"Doctor" Miri said as they carefully helped Demo down the main street to the cottage.
They had bandaged Demo's arm and leg and eye so as not to cause too much of a scene as they passed through. They still caught some people's attention but not too much.
They carefully made their way through the crowd. Demo tensed up and his mask seemed to darken a bit. The smell of his blood seeped into the air. But thankfully there was a light breeze that carried the smell above the crowd.
After about fifteen minutes they made their way carefully to the doctor's clinic. They stopped at the door, it's color was an old worn brown shade. Solid oak with a worn brass handle. They knocked on the door.
"It's open" Says a woman from the inside.
Miri opens the door and they enter. There is a desk with an empty seat behind it. Some paperwork on it with a pen.
To the left there is a shelf and a few chairs. The shelf is full of books. To the right was a light birch wood door with a light green handle.
"I'm guessing this is the waiting room?" Swor said to them.
"Demo what happened earlier, you tensed up for a bit and we could smell your blood" Miri asked a bit worried.
"I-I was in pain, there are others here. I bit my tongue so I wouldn't make any noise from the pain" Demo responded, his voice a bit ragged.
The door handle turned and the door opened to. A young woman came in she wore a white doctor's coat over a light blueish green long-sleeved shirt. Her pants were a light brown with a white drawstring to adjust it. She wore light blue sneakers with white laces. Her eyes were a beautiful light crystal blue, her hair was a beautiful misty ice color held in a bun using a white hair clip. Her skin was a light tan color.
Swor's eyes widened at the sight of her. His face went red but quickly recomposed himself.
"I'm the village doctor, Yuki. What can I help you with? Yuki said.
Miri, seeing that Swor was hiding that he was flustered, spoke up.
"Our friend got in a fight a while ago, we did what we could but he's been getting worse" Miri said to Yuki.
"Hmm ok take him to the back and I'll get started" She said in response.
They nodded and took Demo through the door.
