Chereads / The First Mage / Chapter 51 - Chapter 50

Chapter 51 - Chapter 50

"So... How about it now?"

"Let's start."

"Alright."

"It's your thing. Do it. Convince them. If there will be a fight. Do your thing."

"Okay.

The two of them started going.

In the barbarian settlement. Everyone is doing their things as usual. Of course, this is in the wintervale which is an extremely cold place which every day is about survival for everyone. Working hard to gather food since farming seems impossible due to harsh neverending snow.

Just a far on the north is already a territory of monsters which remained unexplored up until now since nobody got the power to do so. The theocracy can't do so too for unknown reasons.

The snow also extends to a large portion of the northern land. But not entirely

They are unable to leave this land since they got nowhere to go.

This is the land they are able to claim for themselves. Since they are rejected in any nation as citizens.

They are even sending people to plunder resources wherever they could get it. But a few months earlier. Their food supply was cut short since their last plunderers have been annihilated.

"Everyone! Enemies!"

Every person started springing into action after hearing an alert and started to get their weapons and formed a defence line to intercept the potential threat.

As they then saw two people walking through the harsh snow.

"Stop! What do you want!?"

But it seems they didn't heard it.

Another shout has been raised.

This time. They are now closer so they must hear it this time.

"What do you want!?"

"Hey..."

The person who said it has seems to be a friendly smile while the other has a calm face that carries and oppressive aura.

"We don't want to bring harm guys. We wanted to talk."

"Alright! Talk!"

"We wanted you to join us."

Everyone is dumbfounded to what this person said.

"Join?"

"Yes. To our country. We wanted you guys to join us."

"For what? What can we possibly give you for you to convince us to join you?"

"Well…"

"I wanted you to join us for our population to grow!"

The other person spoke.

"I could promise everything. Food. Shelter. Money. Everything you could desire. As long as everything about us is fine. I could promise everything. My Magedom is still new. So I need more people. So. Will you want to have those things? Rather than being stuck here. Left with nothing to do about your current predicament?"

"Ho… Give us everything?"

"…"

"It's…"

"Skuti!"

Skuti. A huge man which is currently closing in to Takao. He came out after the alert. But then he has just arrived and heard Takao's words.

"Are you really going to give us everything we need?'

"Of course."

"Ho! Funny man!"

"Takao. Why does it seems that they are speaking different languages but it seems that I understood them?"

"Me too. Their language really is different. But…"

"So! You really will, huh!?"

"Do you not think that I couldn't?"

"Very well. But I can't say it yet. By the way. I am Skuti. I am the leader of this settlement. As you could see. We're struggling to survive. As the supply of our food from our allies should have arrived last month. But we did not received it.

So they much likely are dead now."

"How could you say that they are dead?"

"Of course! We are loyal to each other. We won't betray our allies! Especially. Our last remaining allies. Their leader is my little brother."

"Is his name. Gallenhorn?"

And Takao then grin.

This leader's arrogant attitude has immediately shifted to a murderous one.

Skuti immediately charges at Takao at extremely high speed.

Unsheathing the huge sword on his back with the intent to slice this person in half.

But before he could do it. Martin intercepts him using his spear.

"You killed my brother!"

"Oh… How could you say that?"

"He only tells his name to his opponents!"

"You really are brothers."

"Grrr."

"That's more like it!"

Martin then sends him away using a bolt of lightning.

It sends him a few distances away. But it seems he's unscathed.

"Bastards… how could you do something like that."

"Everyone! Sorry for my liege's attitude. We didn't come here for fight. Like he said. We only wanted you guys to be part of our nation. That's it. We will provide everything! You could even be a noble family if he entrusts you guys with magic! With magic. You could be able to do things just like I did!"

"No! We won't! Everyone. You're all with me, right?"

"Yes!"

"I am quite generous about this. All I need for you is to be in my country. That's it. We will provide everything for a few years before the market started running. I'll give you magic. Each one of you. All of you could be the biggest family since you are all… At Least. Fifty. With that. You all will be nobles."

"We won't. You murdered our allies. Our family."

"Family. How about I revive them? We are keeping all their bodies after all."

"You could do that!?"

One of them has been bewildered by that statement.

"Easily. My liege here is capable of such thing!"

"I could easily make an example of it."

"Huh!? Then… You're going to…"

"Yes. Skuti, yes?"

"Me? How dare you..."

"Then. Martin."

"Eh!?"

"Come on."

"Alright..."

"Then."

Takao created a large sword which immediately used to decapitate Martin to not cause any pain.

"Wah!!!"

Everyone suddenly felt shocked about it. Of course. Having a person in front of them kill his companion is an extremely bizarre thing. And since this person did it. It must be true that he could revive this said person.

"Alright. Let me show you."

Takao pointed his open hand towards Martin's corpse. And immediately. His decapitated head started attaching onto the body.

"Hhhaaaaahh…"

"Welcome back."

"I met my grandpa."

"It's not the time for this Martin. Get up."

"Oh yeah. Sorry."

"See? I could easily do it. Like I said. Those barbarians. I have been keeping their bodies by now. I killed them because they had raided our once village that is now a nation. I will revive them. Have you all in our country. And I will provide everything."

Even though the place is extremely cold. Everyone still whispers with each other about the current situation.

"Hey. Will we follow? It doesn't seem to be a bad thing. We could finally find refuge somewhere safe."

"What if they had bad intentions about us?"

"Then we will fight."

"Yeah, you're right. After all. We could fight good enough."

"So. Tell me. What are you're decisions?
