Chapter 4 - IV

She was aware that Aziel was going to wake up soon.

The trusted doctor that she personally and privately hired, explained to her that the drug he gave Aziel would make him sleep and keep him in a medical induced coma for a while.

It has been exactly 8 days since he was injected with the drug that made him unconscious.

She also assumed the high possibility of him getting violent with her. That's why she put a calming drug inside the humidifier along with the scent that would disguise its purpose.

All intentional for the reason that she needed time. Time to think of what she would do with this man.

She was informed by her private investigators of the fact that this man in front of her had a history of being violent when provoked.

She was not aware of his triggers yet, she had to be careful.

She had so much to risk. She had her whole future at risk. Yet, she placed herself in a disadvantageous position with a deranged man who, in contrast to her, had nothing to lose.

He was a criminal. All they had to do was release a statement that it was a terrorist attack. However, IT would make things further complicated as it is. A careless blunder of a fire and scapegoat was better than a terrorist on board. That would be a nationwide disaster, creating more trouble for her family.

Smiling was a natural response she could think of in this type of situation. Even if it seemed suspicious, she'd been thinking and thinking, rotting her brain and body in this isolated place and days later she still didn't know what to do with this guy in front of her.

'Was it worth it?' She can't regret it now.

She didn't know what to say. Nothing felt right to say. She felt like she's walking on eggshells around this man, focusing all her energy on how careful she needed to be. It was exhausting.

There was also a possibility that her careless action would kill her, if the man across her was a narcissistic psychopath who might perceive her looking down on him, it might ignite him.

She could only expect the worse.

She didn't know the man personally, all she knew was that he could be unstable when triggered.

"I see that you're awake now. I cooked some instant ramen... Do you want to join me?"

It might sound like she's inviting him to eat ramen together, but she really just wanted to get rid of the suffocating atmosphere growing between them, in the slightest hope of him rejecting her no matter how hungry he might be.

Inviting him to eat instant ramen was not the best choice, since it wasn't healthy at all. It lacks the nutrients and vitamins for his body to recover itself, she knew. But it was all she had that was convenient. She wasn't a chef.

He looked at her even more coldly, annoyed.

'What's with the casual talk?'. They don't know each other in the first place and she's not even bothering to explain who she is or what she wants with him.

Jolted by the next second, Aziel's face was mere inches away from her. He was holding her two shoulders, applying pressure, which felt painful.

"WHO. ARE. YOU" he managed to weigh out with his rasped voice.

She felt his breath in front of her. She was startled, panicked even. How would she answer that?

'Is this his normal hold?' He was injured yet his strength didn't seem to diminish.

She knew that this man was a lot more capable. Based on what she knows and what she can gather, this man had a black belt in karate and kung fu. He worked out a lot too.

Seeing the unsatisfying lack of reaction from the strange girl in front of him. Aziel put more force into her shoulders, then the grey-eyed girl's expression changed as it pained her.

It truly pained her, she knew she was physically weak in contrast to Aziel. She was almost tearing up due to his painful hold. Her small thin frame could never compare to his large toned ones, built by years of intense workout and strict diet and She still needed her arms.

"That's painful, right now, I need you to understand that I'm not a threat. I am the one who tended you and dressed up your wounds. I saved you alright!"

She rambled, if she was him this wouldn't make any sense either.

"And even I invited you to eat the ramen I cooked, is this how you repay your savior?" she continued, indirectly telling him he was ungrateful, and trying to awaken guilt from Aziel.

Staring at his eyes, at the same time unintentionally checking him out, she did think he looked thinner compared to when she found him in the ocean, but she felt that his jaw actually just got more defined.

But no matter how handsome a man is it didn't really affect her. She grew up surrounded by fine, beyond handsome looking men, she has built up immunity to these types of men.

Looking at the woman's teary eyes, he felt annoyance rising up inside him, 'are girls really this sensitive and fragile?'

But then again, she does have a point. She was the one who helped him, and even if she looked fragile enough to break, he should thank her. After all, it was because of her, he was still alive.

All his life he was surrounded by sly and ambitious people who were also trying to survive with him even if it meant crushing others.

This girl would't survive a day in his world.

She didn't even take him to a hospital, and still got the work done by herself, which he was somehow thankful for, since he might get arrested on the spot if she did.

"You're not just fragile, but also a fool, tsk," he said rudely to the woman in front of him.

Her eyes twitching at how annoying this guy is. 'You should be thankful I got there first or you would be a dead man! this guy really is annoying and rude. No sense of being grateful at all'. She wanted to voice out but is unable to do so.

'It's still too early to get mad' she reminded herself.

'I just need my breakfast, that's all' and she needed the energy to continue tolerating Aziel.

letting go of her shoulder, the girl closed her eyes and inhaled the oxygen around her, collecting her thoughts and patience by thanking the gods for its wonderful creations.

Opening her eyes, she again changed her demeanor, putting on the smile she had just a minute ago. Exhaling, she smiled softly at him, getting rid of the slight tears in the corners of her eyes. She just let out"Let's do that again, shall we? Do you want to eat with me, Mr.Han?"

"You're feeding a sick person ramen, tsk"

The woman in front of him wanted to roll her eyes so badly, while he was here she might as well teach him basic human manners.

"I don't have a choice either" she said, as she turned her back on him.

"Follow me"

Following her, he was puzzled, curious about this girl's identity ''So she knows who I am, so there is a high possibility she knows everything. Why isn't she crying then? Shouldn't she be scared? Unless she was the help he was referring to. Although this thin, fragile lady doesn't look like she can't hurt a fly, looks can deceive.' using his logic wasn't helping in figuring out who she was.

Leading him to the large kitchen.

Looking at her back profile, he quickly peeped at her exposed long white legs, now that he can't see her face and fictitious smile, she actually looked better. She was as tall as his lower ears and he was 6'2.

Quickly diverting his attention to the house around him, it's really weird how he just checked her out back, he was too carefree that it almost felt suspicious. Although she was actually beyond gorgeous, it was never a distraction.

This girl seemed like a fool at first impression, but how she carries herself and what she knows seems inconsistent to what he assumed. He needed to know more. He wanted to know more.

'This girl, who is she really?'

'And why would she save him? Is she really just that soft, foolish, kind girl that she portrays herself? or she's hiding something from him? Motives? 'What can she gain from hiding a monster like me?'

He bombed a ship which killed hundreds... or thousands of individuals that lived. They had a family of their own that they were excited to share their fun experience with.

He expected to somehow feel remorse for killing just for his revenge or happiness at least for somehow ruining the person he hated the most.

But he didn't.

Guilt did't appear.

He must have been so numb to this point that he wasn't sure anymore if he had any conscience left.

But he needed this, he reminded himself. Revenge doesn't have conscience.

Observing the girl who was humming as she stirred the ramen for its last second before she put it in the 2 white bowls on top of the grey granite counter, he felt that it was actually easy to kill her since she just seemed a carefree girl, but he knew he couldn't underestimate her.

Since it did seem odd how nothing tragic happened to him until now, knowing what he has just done would make him a target of countries and even large terrorist groups.

'Ding!', a sound of notification popped out.

Alerting Aziel, looking at the girl who seemed to put down the ramen pot, she inserted her hand in her hoodie pocket and brought out the culprit of the notification. She opened it and read the contents with her eyes first, growing an impressed expression.

She lifted up her face from her phone and proceeded to show Aziel her screen, a picture of The Opeña Blanc on its cover page.

"LOOK! They found the body of the terrorist who blew up Opeña Blanc. Pieces of his body remain washed away at the beach this morning. What an unexpected, fascinating surprise!"
