It took them some time to think and discuss it between each other, regarding Arden's offer. Making them the personal guards at Arden's castle.
They looked at each other before staring at Arden straight into the eyes, Alan sighed and opened his mouth, "We will accept, but… about the pay and the field we took care since we were child, can you do something to it?"
Arden heard all the words Alan said and thought about his question, 'What is a good pay? 1 Auren? No, that's too little for a month. How about 2 Aurens? Too expensive, 1 Auren and 50 Rens is a good price!"
He took a glance at them before thinking about the answer to the second question, 'About the field, making them work in the field at day and work at my castle is not an answer, human need rest too…"
Once again, he took a glance at them and look at their face, waiting for him to give them an answer, 'I can just employ a man to take care of it!'
He found the answer he was looking for and quickly turn his attention toward the 4 of them. Louis and Emma are still waiting for Arden's answer, both of them patiently wait and will decide if it's a good job for their children.
Arden sighed just by looking at their face before a thought came up in his mind suddenly, 'What if I just buy the field? I could get wheat every July!'
He quickly made a plan in his head to buy the wheat field that could be used to grow various kinds of plants. 'How much price I should offer? 10 Aurens? 100 Aurens? I'll ask them first and then decide'
He began opening his mouth after he thought about all of the stuff and began talking, "About the pay, I will do 1 Aurens and 50 Rens, but you will become the private guards of my children"
They looked at each other smiling and began discussing more about it. Louis, out of nowhere, slammed his hand on the table to get everybody's attention.
Everyone at the room looked at him, shocked because of the slam to the table, but began waiting for what he is going to talk about. He opened his mouth and began, "You all should accept that offer, that's 50% than my pay!"
All sons of Louis is really thinking about it now, the smile they previously have disappeared as they discuss it. Arden got a glance from 4 of them while he was waiting patiently and slowly became nervous.
A minute passes and all of them turned to Arden, Alan began opening his mouth nervously and stuttered, trying to get the words out of his mouth, "Sir… Th-that's…"
Adam cut him off and bluntly said, "Sir! That's too little, you should give us a raise of 10 Rens or something!"
Arden looked at them surprised and sighed, "Okay, I will raise it by 25, I will be making the schedule"
All 4 of them began making a smile at their face and once again discussed about it to each other. That's when Daniel, the third son, opened his mouth, "Sir, you haven't answered about the field yet"
Arden gave him a brief smile and said to them, "I want to buy the field and employ someone to work in it, you guys didn't need to worry about it"
All of them stopped discussing, and the room became silent. Not knowing what to say, Arden tried to break the ice by asking a question to them, "How much do you guys plan on selling it?"
They didn't answer at all, and Louis suddenly stated to Arden, "15 Aurens!"
Arden widens his eyes and knew exactly what is happening, 'Even though the one taking care of it is his children, the owner is still Louis'
All of Louis children nodded, knowing 15 Aurens is good enough for him, and Arden smiled. He then began shaking everyone's hand at that house.
Arden began making the schedule for them at that very moment in his mind, 'Let's say, Alan, the oldest with Daniel, the third son will take care of the morning session'
Arden looked at them for some moment before continuing his thought, 'That leaves Edward the second son and Adam, the youngest one at the night session'
He began telling them his schedule and all of them agree to it. They all smiled at each other and continued making some small conversation.
That's when it strikes Arden, his mind suddenly remembers about something, his own wife, 'She must be very worried at this time! I'll go to the castle right now!'
He stood up from his chair and looked at them before saying, "I'll excuse myself now, see you all in the next time!"
Louis quickly stood up from his chair and began following Arden. Arden was a little confused, but at his mind, he thought, 'Maybe he wanted to escort me? That's not a problem"
He began leaving the house with the tiger cub at his hand, sleeping comfortably. And the cat and Louis, both following behind him closely as he began walking at the path to the city.
There is no problem at all in the way. And they entered the city normally. Many people surprised their lord were actually at the street and began gathering around, making some sort of path for him like a parade.
But then, he saw many carriages parked beside the street, and in front of all of the carriage was the decorative carriage of the noblewoman.
The carriage of the noblewoman he met yesterday, his memory serves him right, and he began increasing his pace of walking.
He didn't run so everyone in the street didn't panic, instead, he casually walked past the carriage, hoping nothing will come out of it. He was wrong, his hope didn't come true, and the noblewoman began getting out of the carriage.
He was about to run but got stopped by the noblewoman that is screeching at him and screaming. All of a sudden, guards came from the normal carriage that was parked behind the noblewoman's carriage.
He wanted to run, but… because he took a glance to see what is behind him. He could see the guard began circling him and didn't give any chance for him to escape.
They were successful as Arden, and Louis couldn't escape from that situation and was surrounded. The noblewoman walked closer with her most "gracious" style that made her looked like a scoliosis patient.
Arden looked at her before thinking about a name to address her, 'I read a book before and there is a thing called KAREN, the woman that thought the world revolve around them, it would be a good name for this noblewoman!'
Arden shakes his head and focused his attention on what is going to happen and what he is going to do. That's when he realizes the Karen standing in front of him, 5 metres apart from him and Louis.
With guards surrounding them, Arden couldn't do anything except to wait for his reinforcements, 'I need to wait for the city guards to notice this!'
He calmly asked to the Karen, "What do you want?"
She looked at him with a grin and opened her mouth to talk, "Why do you steal my cat! Give me that back! The one at your hand!"
The crowd was shocked! Seeing their lord stole a "cat" from a noblewoman. Some of them began shouting at Arden to give it back to the Karen but most of them have eyes and brains.
The majority of the person knew what animal is in Arden's hand, that's not a cat, that's a tiger. Some of them began a shouting match with the one that told Arden to give the cat back.
After they knew the animal at Arden's hand is not a cat at all, Karen's supporter becomes zero. Suddenly, city guards came to the scene, someone at the crowd called them.
They examined the surroundings and after seeing Arden's face, they unsheathed their weapons and got ready for the fight with the unknown guards surrounding Arden.
One of the city guards were wise enough to tell Arden's commander regarding these issues and soon… Bryan came with some of his subordinates, with Rob and James beside him.
All of the people were fled into some places, scared they might be the victims of the combat. While some of them fled to the place far away, most of them went to someone house to see the view of it.
Meanwhile, the Karen have her smug-looking face and bluntly said, "LOOK! This is MY army! What can you do! You better give me that cat! You don't want to make problem with me!"
Arden looked at her with his eye widen and his jaw dropped to the floor, someone dared to first, accuse him in stealing a "cat" which is not a cat at all. Second, someone dared to say the army and city guard belongs to her.
He was furious and looked at her with his serious eyebrows. Louis, Arden and all the people there unsheathed their sword and a fight was about to begin!
