Chereads / The Immortal Rogue / Chapter 69 - 69

Chapter 69 - 69

After settings, his thoughts aside Knave continued on his way to the first floor for his lunch.

"Bang!"

Right when he was about to enter the dining area of the first floor with the other two. With a loud sound, the sound of something flying into the air and hitting the wall was heard.

When they hurriedly entered they could see Zack clutching at his right side while leaning on the walk. He later stood up and took in large gasps of air.

He just now met Senior Disciple Shaun's ferocious chain blade as it was coming down, unable to dodge it. He was forced to block with his sword but was overwhelmed by the large force. The weapon in the air just flew away.

"Senior Disciple Shaun, it looks like you won't be going easy on me. This younger disciple steps down." Zack smiled with difficulty and left preserving his dignity a little.

Suddenly, all around the first-floor dining hall excited shouts rang out.

"Senior Disciple Shaun's is invincible in immortal skill!"

"Senior Disciple Shaun's awesome sword skill!"

"Senior Disciple Shaun, give this junior brother instructions!"

Each voice not wanting to be quieter than the others shouted louder and louder at their idol and the area soon filled with cheers.

Senior Disciple Shaun put his flying sword away and on his face was a small blush. It looked like he wanted to speak when suddenly his brows furrowed in a frown, as though just remembering something.

He coolly said, "Right now I have some urgent matters to attend to. I must take my leave first."

He turned around and gently walked away, so gently that it looked like he was floating. This showed his mastery in agility immortal skills as he faded away into the woods.

"Tch! Not only is Senior Disciple Shaun's blade skill great, his maneuvering is superb."

"Exactly!"

"Exactly!"

The praises echoed all around. Knave creased his brows. This Senior Disciple Shaun's battle skills weren't bad. However, doubt crept up in him as it seemed like Senior Disciple Li had been too flashy.

He turned his head and couldn't help but force a smile.  He was nothing like these peers of his, as he was very perceptive and a deep thinker.

He was not a child, but an adult. He could perceive what this normal cultivators could not. They then went for the table while having already taken their desired dishes.

"I just realized something. Why were you two enemies before you didn't tell me did you?" Knave gave a glance at his companions and asked.

"Its truly a long story. However, since Knave wants to know then it is fine too." Hearing Knave's question, Ross answered.

" It was about a year ago...." Ross clapped Knave's shoulder, glanced at the crowd a moment, then started his story.

It was mostly about how they were fighting for the market of herbs and how they were both been against each others throats for it. A bit later he went on with his life story, he was completely unaware of what was just said.

After finishing their lunch as they were going on their separate ways Knave reminded them once more about the herb that he wanted.

As Knave walked farther away, the sounds of the arguments came from behind between Manuel and Ross as they were getting less noisy, but he didn't care anymore for the two.

Thinking back to Ross's expression when he talked about his past, Knave couldn't help but snicker. At this moment, his heart had felt carefree as compared to the time he had just left his abode.

Walking through the forest and farther away from the match, Knave finally arrived at a nearby stream. He tilted his head to look at the overhead sun and then back at the flowing water in the stream.

As he bent down, the moment he plunged his hands into the cold river he couldn't help but feel refreshed.
