Chapter 28 - Quetzalcoatl - Part Two

Amon inhaled then exhaled loudly. "That is still farfetched. Entropy is wholly cut off from life and death. Besides, not only will I have to merge entirely with my heart, which means becoming the highest-ranking monarch possible, but I will also require the aid of two individuals holding the laws of life and death."

When Amon said that he would need the aid of others to accomplish something the Heart of Entropy contracted painfully, forcing Amon to clutch at his chest from pain.

"And my heart does not play well with others..."

Quetzalcoatl raised her voice uncontrollably. "No! You will be able to accomplish it. I'm certain! You have the intelligence, wisdom, and law to be able to pull it off. Bring me back to life, and I will give you my everything!"

Amon sat down cross-legged and closed his eyes to think things through. It is easy to say yes, so simple to agree, get what he needed and leave, but he is a man of principles. He could not agree to something he has not thought about thoroughly from all sides and had reasonable expectations about accomplishing it with or without an oath.

Time passed as Amon lost himself in his thoughts, trying not to be hasty and clearly be aware of everything he could perceive before he takes a step forward.

He opened his eyes, looking at the anticipating feathered serpent.

"Quetzalcoatl, speak true. State what you want clearly, and what will you do with it if you were granted what you want." Said Amon in a severe tone.

She rose to answer Amon probably, not taking the current conversation lightly.

"I, Queen Quetzalcoatl of the Feathered Serpent Primordial clan, yearn for a complete life, a second chance with a whole, soul, spirit, and body, memory intact except for my...experiences. It will be better if you could erase them.

As for why I want a second chance is because I wish to experience, feel what I looked down upon my whole life. To settle down and start a family with a decent husband and a father for my children."

Amon raised an eyebrow.

"I thought you exclusively preferred females."

Quetzalcoatl grimaced. She did not want to answer Amon, but one look at him told her she had no other choice.

Two brilliant hidden, multi-colored wings spread from Quetzalcoatl back and hid her face.

"Yes, I have always thought so too. Remember, when I said I was frightened by the dragon that killed me and my beloved...I kinda got turned on while looking in his hate-filled eyes as he annihilated me." Divulged Quetzalcoatl.

"Fucking pervert. No wonder you want your sexual memories erased too. No self-respecting Primordial would touch you with a planet-size poleaxe with your memories of past exploits are left intact even if I managed to resurrect you a virgin." Spat Amon.

Quetzalcoatl stayed silent because what Amon said is true unless she was willing to be with a lesser being than a Primordial. A wealthy human commoner would not accept to be married to just anyone. Then why would an ancient, powerful, and noble Primordial blessed with supreme bloodline ever allow themselves to be with someone not qualified? There are a few of them and plenty of everyone else.

Amon personally did not hold these extreme views, but even he would not touch Quetzalcoatl or ever consider her to be a potential spouse the way she is with her past unrestrained lifestyle.

"I'm intrigued. What will you do about your thirst for the softer gender, you are a Bi from what I understood."? Questioned Amon.

Quetzalcoatl removed her wings from her face, a smirk plastering her snout.

"Perfect me would not just marry anyone, would I? Hubby would have plenty of..." Quetzalcoatl could not continue her sentence.

"Enough. I get it, dear ancestral mother, you are insufferable." Amon stood up and dusted his clothes.

"Does that mean you agree, will you take an oath to resurrect me the way I requested?" Spoke Quetzalcoatl, hope filling what remained of her soul.

Amon shook his head. "You will get a promise, not an oath."

Quetzalcoatl wanted to object, but Amon stopped her with a raised hand.

"You are asking me to do what no one has done before me, to accomplish the impossible very much. An oath is too restrictive and specific. If I'm to one day be able to achieve it, then I need the complete freedom to pursue it in any way I wish, or in any way the situation may demand. If I take an oath to do it how you think it may work, then it is highly probable that we both suffer, me under an oath I could never fulfill, and you...well, you stay dead." Explained Amon.

Quetzalcoatl slithered around on top of her tower, thinking about Amon's offer.

"If you were still a Phoenix, I would have agreed immediately. However, you are no longer one, and you no longer have the generous soul and spirit of a Phoenix."

Amon sighed. "You are the second person to tell me I'm not a Phoenix in these forsaken lands like I don't already know that."

"Then we are at an impasse." Quetzalcoatl stopped slithering around and stopped in front of Amon.

"Say Quetzalcoatl, do you know why Entropy is an oppressive, tyrannical unbreakable law?" Asked Amon.

Quetzalcoatl stayed still waiting for Amon to continue his thought.

"It is because it is inevitable. No matter how much time passes or how much energy is spent battling Entropy's influence on anything. In the end, all spent efforts feedback into the inevitability of Entropy. It is inescapable and can't be circumvented. This is what I'm offering. The same inevitable promise Entropy gave to everything that ever existed or will exist, Entropy promises an end, and I promise you a new start when I speak for Entropy." Offered Amon.

Quetzalcoatl sighed, then nodded. She has no other choice but to accept whatever Amon offers her ultimately.

"Good, we have an accord then." Amon extended his hand towards Quetzalcoatl, awaiting her blood essences.

"Not yet." Said Quetzalcoatl.

Amon crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the ground.

"You are not ready. I can help you reach the True Realm first. Then we can talk about my legacy. From your memory, you blackout for extended periods every time you rise through the levels, I suspect assimilating my clan's legacy would do the same to you for who knows how long." Spoke Quetzalcoatl.

"There is more. What are you not saying?" Asked Amon.

"You showed up here early. You still have time, spending it out of commission would be a damn shame." Revealed Quetzalcoatl.

"Hmm?"

"In an imaginary world where there is no wind to carry you to my Summit, where would you have gone?" Hinted Quetzalcoatl.

"There were two other choices, The Northern Valley and The Desolate Capital. I would have searched both, I guess." Speculated Amon.

"Northern Valley sounds like a boring place." Divulged Quetzalcoatl.

"You want me to go to The Desolate Capital...why? It holds a human legacy as far as I'm aware." Said Amon.

"Did I tell you about my era? A constant war going on? It pushed all of us to be innovative, creative, and produce brilliant arts. Some of us went as far as to rival the strongest of us with their unique...designs. Need is the mother of all inventions." Rambled Quetzalcoatl.

"Ok, you are saying there is something I must get my hand on in The Desolate Capital, a human legacy worth my time. Fine... I will head there first." Said Amon.

"Show me your weapon."

Amon pulled out his sword and showed it to Quetzalcoatl.

"Incompatible weapon and low cultivation. You will die." Revealed Quetzalcoatl.

"But you want me to go there anyway and endanger my life because it is more than worth it. Right?" Asked Amon for confirmation.

Quetzalcoatl remained silent, which was all the confirmation Amon needed.

"Damn, what could have possibly made you willingly risk both my life and your only hope at another chance. Can it not wait until I'm in a better condition? Maybe after I'm at least in the True Realm?" Asked Amon.

"The flood gate will soon open, Amon." Reminded Quetzalcoatl.

"Right, and I can't risk someone else getting to it before me. Shit, it better be a damn Prime Ether Treasure for me to go through all this trouble. Wait...Is there a Prime Ether Treasure here?" Asked Amon.

"This hidden world only awards legacies." Said Quetzalcoatl.

Amon's eyes widened in astonishment. She neither denied it nor confirmed it. Instead, she indicated there are things not meant to be awarded to any of the upcoming participants.

Amon turned around and inserted his control rod inside the teleportation platform.

"Amon..."

"Yes?"

"There are no devils here, nor was anything here built by devils. However,..."

"However?"

"Your father despises this domain all the same, from what I have seen in your memories, I do not doubt that. Him not knowing about its existence makes no difference."

Amon gnashed his teeth. "You should have kept that to yourself and not said anything for fuck sake."
