Tanmern is a quiet Dragonborn city at the east in the country of Gidran surrounded by seas and deserts. It was once a bustling port city where sea and traveling merchants gathered in Tanmern to make a fortune here due to the perfect weather to trade. No storms, no snows, even sandstorms are quite rare. Many worshippers of different deities also decided to set their churches and temples in Tanmern.
There is a large temple that resides in the middle of Tanmern. It is considered the largest temple in Tanmern and perhaps Gidran. The temple is 30 meters high with an area of 10 acres. It also has 4 towers surrounding the temple in each corner with a height of 50 meters. The perimeters of the temple are surrounded by fences of 5 meters high and a large arch gate that is covered by gold. The temple is the Temple of Leirai. This temple is a place to worship to Leirai, God of Lightning.
20 years ago, there was a conflict between the countries, Highfort of the North and Gidran. Both countries decided to monopolize the Straits of Vernules. If one of the countries can control the straits, all the trade will belong to the Kingdom. Then, after a fail peace agreement, a war broke up and Tanmern is in the center of the battlefield. Even though Gidran won the battle, the damage is devastating, thus the city never recovers to its former glory.
One night in the winter, Tanmern had hit by a snowstorm that had never happened since the beginning of civilization. In just an hour, white snow as thick as 3 feet blanketed the city. There are only a few people are on the street walking slowly foot by foot, inch by inch passing through the heavy-covered snow.
Outside of the Temple of Leirai, an unusual sound alerts the priests and clerics of Leirai. A baby crying sound. Some thought is a passerby carrying a baby. However, after 10 minutes, the crying did not stop. An older Dragonborn cleric named Marton Leadalosple, Chief Cleric of the Leiraians grabs a leather coat with yellow lines across the sleeves, wore it and went outside the temple. He has a pair of shining light blue eyes, blue scaly skin, and a long grey beard. He also has a Leirai emblem necklace that wears across the neck.
At the gate, Marton sees a brown coat from the source of the cries. Due to the storm, he cannot identify who cried which largely because of the heavy snow. Before the guards of the Temple of Leirai open the gates, he maked sure that it is not a trap set by bandits. Previously, there are a few cases around the town that the thieves tricked people in opening the gates to sneak in. However, there are no signs of life on the street. With a single command, "Bex!!!" the gates opened and Marton passed the torch to the guards before went out to look on the crying being.
After that, he carried up the brown coat and opened the hood. "By Leirai, it's a newborn Dragonborn. What makes this poor child have to endure this cold weather?" says Marton. The baby dragonborn has little blue scales that are not hard enough which indicates that the baby is just born hours ago.
He looks around waiting for someone to claim the baby dragonborn. However, there is still no sign of life on the streets. In his big muscle arms of Marton, he noticed a paper slipped into the coat and pulled it out. He found a paper written "Qodrog" in draconic in the coat of the newborn dragonborn.
"Poor child, let me take you inside of the Temple of Leirai".
Suddenly, a dwarf disciple asked:" Master, isn't it dangerous to bring a newborn child inside the Temple of Leirai without the permission of Lord Leirai?"
"I'm sure if Lord Leirai won't accept this child, this poor dragonborn would die in this brutal storm way earlier at the streets of Tanmern" "Therefore, I'm sure He will accept this baby elf", explained Marton.
All of a sudden, a loud thunder crack across the region of Tanmern and the snowstorm stops. Suprisingly, the baby also stop crying. "Interesting," wondered Marton while stroking his beard.
"For now, I will give you a name under the guidance of Mighty Leirai, Qodrog Stormrager".
