Chapter 10 - Fallen One

The two stands still, and Elliot wasn't responding. Archie expected it. He thought that anyone would think of him as out of his mind with that thought.

Except, it was all because of Elliot's uneasiness. Freak, he didn't know he would meet up a wizard only days after he got here.

But he didn't expect it more for a wizard to reveal himself just like that. That's very carefree of him then. And first off all, it puzzled Elliot of how did Mr. Caius knew that he is a soon-to-be wizard.

"W-wizard? Yeah? one who do magi-magic stuff?" He uttered silently.

Archie nodded, "Exactly". He got on his table where he shows the boy a certain album.

Opening a page, he inpatiently smiled and got close to Elliot.

"This," He said, first flipping some pages.

"Is a school for wizards like you to go into", he continued, excited to explain more, even it will be bothersome since he got loads of work to do, he still wants to.

Elliot was speechless. How can he pretend he doesn't know about this?

"Wiza.. .. Aren't it all fake though? Magic doesn't exist right?" He managed to said it without stuttering. Which can say he's completely not believing it.

'So actors have it hard' An unconscious though left him absence in reality for a moment.

"We, you, do exist, fake magic? You have one yourself kiddo, it's blinding to even look at. Your exposing it too much.." He claims as he pointed at Elliot's stomach.

' It must be the core...' Elliot was nervous. He never though that his core was letting out itself too much. He never even felt that it was going outside. He only felt energy going inside. But maybe that's all because the man in here is an expert..

"Tell me then, how did you knew I am a Wizard?" Questions Elliot.

"Again, your energy, is being let out too much. We, wizards, naturally gain energy's, or might say, mana," States Archie, trying his best to explain how do magic work. He too, when he was a kid, made a lot of questions when he was told to be a wizard, by a certain hairy man.

"Most wizards of your age, like you, doesn't know how to control it properly, and that's why I'm here," He continued like he was giving Elliot's a favor, smiling like a narcissistic guy. But yes indeed, he was giving him a favor.

Frankly, Elliot was puzzled. He was letting out energy, or what he calls mana, all along? If he was not doing that, then could he be stronger than what he is now?

"Your mana is overflowing. You're a pretty good talented young wizard I say, ain't everybody's core do that. But your a muggle, so you won't know it, and without me, your probably gonna waste it all!" His narcissistic smile was glistening.

Out of all people, a narcissist, really..

Elliot, it's been a long time for him to get called muggle. At least it's better than being called a mudblood. He was often bullied by the likes of Draco and his squad being a 'mudblood'. But he wasn't too sensitive about it. Because his childhood bullies was worst than that. He remembered what joy he got when he knew all of his fantasies were true.

That magic does exist and he's one of the people that can do those stuff. If only he stayed as a first year back then...

But now, he said 'everybody ain't like that' and it's 'overflowing'. It must be all the work of the enhancing technique. His stocking up too much energy his magic reservation can't keep it anymore and thus overflows it. Without his knowing. That's what he guessed.

"But who said your gonna teach me.. sir?"

Elliot query the man, as he was too proud of himself of offering to teach him.

"Please, take a seat," he said first as he points at the chair in front of the table.

It seems it's gonna be a long useless explanation.

"Since your doubting me kiddo, it's up to you then. Waste your talents and just make any wandering wizards kill you for your overflowing core," he offered for the one last time. Elliot was not doubting, but rather, more interested on the core part.

"The CEO of the successful company -Night is suddenly offering to teach a kid with nothing and waste his time....." Elliot smirked as he said it.

"Sure, tell me more," curiosity sure can kill.

°°°°°°

It was long hours as Archiac, or Archie, casually, but sounds too sweet for Elliot and thus shortening more to Arch, explains everything basically about his past, wizards and the Wizarding World.

Which 90 percent of which Elliot knows already about.

Long story short, he's a wizard himself too. But he transferred over to Ilvernmorny as he is a half British and American person. His father, as he was the American one, decided he will go to where he goes too in the past.

Nonetheless, Elliot still doesn't get how can he immediately knew his a wizard. Making him ask this question.

"Exactly.. how did you know I am a.. wizard?"

It was the question his been waiting to ask ever since they talked with each other. And he wants the answer already as it's already night time. And he just wasted this hours if he won't get anything for it. How does he even know that this guy can help him?

Arch showed a smirk, "Going already to that? Fast"

"I'm already.. not a wizard anymore,"

That one sentence confused the heck out of Elliot.

"Once your core is gone. Your abilities are gone. And I just happen to break my own so"

He was smiling but it did show a sadness in it. But more like sorrow, it was a regret. Much like Elliot's.

"My last moment, was me inventing a technique that can harness a wizards power into greater heights. I made highly expensive potions, and all of that just to support my body for that technique. But no, it didn't work out and just almost killed me," he continued his story. Laughing at himself. Propably his regret. Wizard after all, is one good thing to be. And he just wasted it. Probably loads of people out there, if they knew it does exist, would kill just to become one. And we happen to just get it naturally by chance.

But, Wow, that's very unfortunate right there. What kind of technique would be that ruthless? Now he's thankful for his own technique, whom just take his time, not life.

"How did you again, manage to see my 'overflowing' mana as you said?"

Elliot was angst. He can't waste time. Time is gold bro. That's what he only aims for. Did this guy saw it? How? If he's already a crippled wizard?

"Easy, it's just too much that it can be easily felt. And there's certain feelings for magic ya know? So I immediately know it was magic. And also, most of the fishermen there are oldies, your the youngest and the most fresh there I remember," he explained, and dang, Elliot waited just for that answer. Of course, him, Arch, is already 'not a wizard', what help can he give? Though pretty rude to ignore a man just because he's already this, all Elliot need is things that can help him. Arch is good and kind for sure, and also narcissistic, let's not forget about that. But Elliot won't be that soft and watse time. He already got shit by it.

"So, about the job?" He directly ask shamelessly, if he can at least manage to get the job at least after wasting listening to useless explanation. But thumbs up to him being able to explain it very well. He must be a ravenclaw back then. Making this company succeful in the future is already one of the hints.

The man laughed, smiling at him.

"Seems money is all indeed you want. But then, its a lie. I thought I can give you some knowledge, thing or two, but unfortunately, you happen to not care about that," he replied

"Sad to say, it's sleepy time kiddo's, you can go now," he finally said, going out himself about to exit.

Elliot unfortunately just indeed wasted his time. Sure, it was a delight seeing another wizard, but for it to be already crippled really?

He also though how petty of him to not even give anything. All he can do now is sigh.

Elliot just half heartedly smiled and bowed to him a bit. The door automatically opened, and Elliot exited. But before the door closed back again, a thought pop up to him.

It was the thing he thought back about.

What technique was ruthless to destroy its host core?

"Hey, I just want to know, perhaps what technique you used for the greater heights thingy?" Elliot asked as there are only seconds before the door finally closed.

"Eh, your gonna use it? It's just simple meditation but with circulati-"

The man, Arch was surprised as the boy directly turned back, putting his hands on the closing door to prevent it from closing.

"Meditation... with circulation, right? "
