He could not understand, but the way his heart was pounding, he could almost guess what Nina was talking about. Thus, he studied Nina's appearance to figure it out rather than waiting for her to reply to him.
However, Nina only apologized to him.

Albert opened his mouth to utter a word. But his mouth remained hanging in the air.
