Albeit reluctantly, Maxim released her hand but when Diana reached Louis' bed, she could feel Maxim's towering presence right behind her. And one of his powerful arms settled on the small of her back.
A simple gesture yet it made her feel like she was safe as long as he was there. And if things were to go out of control, then he would pull her behind to protect her like he always did.
But Diana knew that things might not go to the extreme. Louis was acting this way perhaps because his demands were not being met and after the issue with his team of lawyers that ran from the hospital with their tails tucked between their legs, his ego was hurt.
''It's just a matter of few days,'' Diana did not beat around the bush.
