Tang Lin and Lu Shen instructed the driver to speed past all of the cars and to go to Beijing Hospital. The scene they saw when they ran to the seating area in front of the emergency room was of Tang Qingyu putting both of his hands to his face. When he removed them, it seemed as if he had aged twenty years. He looked so stressed and troubled. Teardrops slid down the sides of his face.
"Please... Ying-Ying, don't leave me... We just solved our misunderstandings..."
This was the first time Tang Lin had seen her older brother like this, and she didn't like that sight.
She sat next to him and patted his back.
"It's okay. My sister-in-law is not weak. She'll be okay."
Tang Lin immediately regretted saying that. She, herself, wasn't even sure if Lu Ying would be able to make it. She didn't see how bad the accident was. If things turned for the worst, Tang Lin didn't know how she was ever going to face her brother again. Hopefully, there wasn't going to be a loss.
"My wife... my baby..."
Tang Lin noticed her fiancée pacing back and forth in front of the door. His precious sister and his niece/nephew in her stomach were just in an accident, so he was worried.
At that second, Tang Qingyu jolted up and wiped his tears. The doctor came out with a sympathetic expression.
"Doctor, how is my wife? And my baby?"
The doctor sighed and said, "Mr. Tang, your wife is in a critical condition along with your baby. She lost a lot of blood and it is hard for us to help because she has a rare blood type. But even if we had the blood, it will still be hard to operate. Please prepare for the worst."
Tang Qingyu's face became pale and his feet went back.
"Also, Mr. Tang, if there is a situation when we have no choice but to choose between Mrs. Tang and your baby, who should we save?"
When hearing this, he lifted his head up to look at the doctor. Tang Lin looked at her brother. He had the eyes of a madman. His pale face now became red in anger.
"What do you mean 'choose'?!! Aren't you supposed to be an experienced doctor?! If you can save others, then you should save my wife and child!! Wait no, you HAVE to save them both!! Unless you want to keep your job, my Ying-Ying has to come out of that room alive!! Do you understand??!!"
Tang Qingyu was losing control of himself, so Lu Shen guided him to his seat with force.
Tang Lin turned to the doctor, "I'm sorry about my brother. It's hard for him right now. Please try your best to save my sister-in-law and her baby."
"I understand, Miss Tang. I will try my absolute best. By the way, does anyone you know have this blood type?"
The doctor showed her a paper with Lu Ying's blood type. Tang Lin remembered seeing the same thing on Tang Lao's documents.
"My adopted nephew has the same blood type, but will he be okay, since he's just a child?" She said with a worried expression.
"I'm sorry, Miss Tang. Children cannot give blood. They may put their own lives in danger."
Tang Lin knew that if Tang Lao was not allowed to give blood, there would be a very low chance that Lu Ying would survive.
"Please, Doctor Fan. He is the only person I know with the same blood type. I'll make sure to make him drink a lot of fluids to avoid being in danger. Please make an exception for us. I promise that we will make sure you won't lose your job," she knelt down and begged him.
The doctor immediately held her by the shoulders and helped her stand back up.
"Alright, alright. I'll allow it this one time. This is only because I wish to save Mrs. Lu Ying."
"Thank you so much! We will definitely repay you in the future!" Tang Lin and the two men sitting down were relieved.
When the doctor went back into the emergency room, she called her uncle and told him to bring over Tang Lao.
While they were waiting for him, Tang Lin asked her brother, "How did this happen?"
"When Ying-Ying went to her company, she was stalked by the paparazzi. She tried to get rid of them by taking the emergency stairs instead of the elevator, but they found her. The four people crowded around her to ask questions and accidentally pushed her down the stairs when she tried to walk away from them."
Tang Lin clenched her fists when hearing this.
"Did you catch them yet?"
"No. Their backup hid them well. It seems as if they were ordered to create an intentional accident."
Suddenly, something popped into Lu Shen's mind.
He said, "It's the Han family. I'm sure of it."
Lu Shen explained the conflict between the Han family and the Lu family to Tang Qingyu.
"They're even willing to end their own descendants' lives?! They are psychos!!"
Tang Jin came hand in hand with Tang Lao. The nurse led them to a room and cleaned a spot on the child's arm. Tang Lao was always a good child and he went through a lot of pain as a kid, so he didn't cry when she inserted a needle. The bag of blood was finally filled.
After they finished, the two sat next to the other three adults as the nurse brought the blood to the operation room.
A long time passed by and the red emergency light turned off. Doctor Fan came out.
"Mrs. Lu Ying is in a stable condition along with the baby. She will wake up anytime soon," the doctor gave a smile and everyone was relieved.
"Thank you!!" Tang Lin said as the doctor nodded and left.
She turned to her brother, "We're going home now. Tell me when Ying wakes up. We'll come over immediately."
The couple went home and washed up since they just came back from being at the hospital.
Tang Lin was wearing her nightdress. She was about to take her fiancée home, but he wanted to stay with her, so she allowed him to.
Lu Shen laid next to her on the bed and brushed her cheeks with his warm hands. She was in his embrace and he kissed her on the lips when she closed her eyes. This made her wide awake.
"Go to sleep. You must be tired," Tang Lin hugged him tighter and he fell asleep when he saw that she was already sleeping.
But really, she was pretending to sleep. Tang Lin couldn't sleep with the thought that four paparazzi people are going around ruining peoples' lives for money.
She got up and changed into regular clothes. Then, she took a stick and left the house.
Lu Shen felt something weird going on with her, so he followed her outside.
