Chapter 20 - Brother Chicken

Although that Undead Thief player did not hug Fatty but his character, Fatty couldn't help getting goosebumps.

He didn't remember when his parents had left him a long-lost brother, so he didn't dare take that 'real brother' seriously. Hence, he hurriedly pushed him aside and took a few steps back before saying, "What rank is the equipment that you're so happy with?"

"Yes, yes! Let us take a look!" The surrounding players had been itching inside because of the Thief player's exhilaration. When they saw him still wanting to hug Fatty's character, they couldn't wait to kick him.

Upon seeing that everyone was going to provoke public wrath, the Thief player finally came to his senses and quickly displayed his weapon.

[Dagger of Demon Power]

Level: 10

Rank: Superior

Attack Power: 18-25

+2 Strength

+3 Intelligence

+20 Mana

Requirement: Strength 8, Agility 12

Durability: 25/25

Forger: Chicken Sugar

Once the stats of this dagger were displayed, Fatty couldn't help but feel strange. A dagger that a Thief used actually added magic and mana. Although it was a Superior Rank dagger, weren't these stats too trashy?

Nobody would probably buy such a dagger four years later…

However, although Fatty thought like that, the other players around him might not think that way. Most of the players present had never experienced the closed beta trial, so this was their first time seeing a Superior Rank weapon!

The Undead Thief player also thought that way. Even though the stats of this dagger were trash, its bonus attack power had given him an output that surpassed others in the early stage!

A Level 10 Normal Rank weapon's attack power was around 8 to 10. The Refined Rank was a little higher at around 12 to 15, while the Superior Rank was around 16 to 19. The weapon that Fatty had forged was actually 6 points higher than his standard attack power. This was known as critical damage! As far as attack power was concerned, this dagger was completely considered to be of the highest quality!

It probably had a higher attack power than a Level 20 Refined weapon!

As a result, the Undead Thief player appeared to be very excited. With this dagger, he could search for a better party and hope to stand out! It seemed that his two Silver Coins had been really worth it!

Upon seeing the dagger's rank, the surrounding players were jealous of the Undead Thief. He was simply very lucky to be able to obtain a Superior Rank weapon so early in the game!

When he turned around to look at Fatty, the players were even more jealous of him. By being just a step ahead of upgrading his proficiency, this fellow had actually received this business. Besides collecting the high price of two Silver Coins, he had even forged a Superior weapon. It would be hard for him not to become well-known now!

This might be the first Superior weapon in the game. The advertising effect alone, along with the signature on that weapon, would be enough to make countless players flock over and find him to forge equipment…

As expected, the excited Undead Thief player told Fatty, "Big Brother, let's add each other as friends! I'll find you in the future to forge weapons again. I'll also introduce my friends to you! I won't trust anybody else!"

The players next to him who had learned forging skills burst into tears when they heard this. This Thief had knocked over all the boatmen with a single shot, but no one dared to come forward to refute it. Even when the Undead Thief player's Weapon Blueprint had landed in his hands, he hadn't been confident about forging Superior Rank equipment…

The Thief's excitement was understandable. A class like his, which relied on output, had a rather high demand for weapons. Knowing a forger meant that he wouldn't need to worry about not having a good weapon to use in the future as long as he had blueprints.

However, Fatty knew that the Thief player in front of his eyes was probably beyond excited and thought too highly of him. Nobody could be sure about forging equipment. Even if there were impressive forgers in the later generations, they would experience forging Normal Rank equipment. Nobody dared be sure that they would not forge Normal Rank weapons.

Based on having daytime and night time alternatively, he had made a conjecture on forging during the system data. Fatty was still in the process of verifying this. Although this time he had managed to forge a Superior piece of equipment, he didn't know whether it had been because of luck or because he had used the right forging method. Forging once or twice could not prove this. If other players thought too highly of him before he truly verified it, he would fail even more miserably.

Therefore, Fatty told the Undead Thief player, "We can add each other as a friend, but I have to say something. I wouldn't dare guarantee that I can forge good equipment every time. You and your friends can ask me to forge, but you can't blame me if I forge a Normal Rank weapon or something!"

The Thief hurriedly nodded his head and replied, "Don't worry, I know. It's all about probability!"

Upon seeing that he understood, Fatty added him as a friend.

The Thief player had come up with a nice name. He was called 'Create a Future', which was quite suitable for his class.

"Brother Chicken! I'll go level up first!" Player 'Create a Future' happily bid Fatty farewell, as he couldn't wait to experience the pleasure of having a high damage output.

Although he left, Fatty had yet to come back to his senses.

Brother Chicken?

What kind of name was this? Fatty had an urge to go after him and beat him up…

Before Fatty could go after him, he was stopped by two players who whispered to him, "Brother… Brother Chicken, can I call you that? I remember that you just learned to forge two hours ago. How come your proficiency reached 100 points in just a short while? Do you have any tricks? Can you tell us?"

Upon hearing that, Fatty knew that people had recognized him. After all, when he had come to learn how to forge, he had been surrounded and solicited by them.

Of course, Fatty couldn't just reveal his trick, so it was no use asking him. The trick of handing over ten pieces of Level 10 ores to hurry one's proficiency along was only applicable when one was handing over a quest. It couldn't be used after learning to forge. These two players had learned the skill long ago, so they couldn't use this trick.

Hence, Fatty quickly answered, "Hey, you don't know, right? I managed to obtain a Level 10 Skill Book at the Novice Village. It couldn't be sold for much money, but I used this money to acquire many blueprints and I also mined many ores in the mineshaft. Then, I forged these blueprints when I came back and my proficiency rushed up!"

"Is that so?" The two players didn't quite believe him, but they couldn't find a reasonable explanation either.

"Alright, that's all. Not everybody has it easy, so I won't snatch your business!" Fatty didn't care whether these two players believed him or not so he said, "I'll go level up. You guys stay here and solicit players to increase your proficiency quickly! 100 points actually gather quite fast."

Fatty planned to sneak away but he said this righteously. Upon hearing that Fatty was so good at understanding others, the two players didn't suspect the credibility of his words. They hurriedly nodded and said, "Alright then, Brother Chicken. Go level up!"

The surrounding players all knew that if Fatty was here, it would probably be very hard for other people to do business. After all, this person had just forged a Superior weapon. Regardless of how low the Superior dagger's level was, it was still a Superior one. As long as Fatty slightly boasted to those who wanted to forge, they would probably not hire others for forging even if it was free…

Thus, a group of players smiled at Fatty and spoke as they waved their hands.

"Brother Chicken, take care!"

"Goodbye, Brother Chicken! Take care!"

"Brother Chicken, don't fall…"

"…"

Fatty left while people lined up to bid him goodbye, feeling depressed that 'Create a Future' had called him Brother Chicken accidentally. This nickname had actually been approved by others. As the people yelled the nickname at him, Fatty felt that no matter how he walked, it wouldn't sit well with him.
