The two people who suddenly appeared spotted Fatty, and Fatty saw them.
It was not hard to anticipate what would happen when other players suddenly appeared during a solo kill.
Option A: Κill-steal! Option B: PK!
Before Level 10, all levels were considered a newbie protection period, so no one could PK. However, both options were undesirable for Fatty.
Thus, he nervously controlled his character while carefully observing the two people out of the corners of his eyes.
Fatty's hands were trembling slightly, a side-effect caused by the high tension his hand muscles were under. His concentration had reached an all-time high, increasing the accuracy of his controlled movements.
Due to the distance, Fatty could not see Fated Sky and July very clearly. Based on their equipment, he could assume that one of them was a Death Knight and the other was a Pyromancer. Since the two of them remained in the same spot and did not move away, Fatty subconsciously viewed them as his enemies. Therefore, as he sped up the process of killing the boss monster, he was wary of the two people sneaking an attack on him.
Fatty did not know that his nervous, yet excited and focused, state of controlling his character astounded Fated Sky and July.
The Venomancer Class possessed low Health and Defense. When the two of them saw that the solo player fighting the boss monster was a Venomancer, they both thought that it was a lucky newbie who had arrogantly challenged the boss monster.
Thus, they decided to stay and watch. They originally intended to wait until this newbie was killed by the boss monster before taking over. This way, they would not be accused of kill-stealing and would also be able to keep the loot for themselves.
What they did not expect, however, was that this fat Venomancer would possess strong controlling techniques!
This player continuously changed direction while running, thus increasing the distance between him and the boss monster. He evidently was well-versed in the way the monster fought. Moreover, his every evasion was very accurate, causing the boss monster to pause during its movements and also shortening the time he had to run again.
Most importantly, this Venomancer could actually calculate the seconds during such an intense battle. His attacks were executed just as the toxin effect faded. As a result, the boss monster was always suffering from a health reduction effect and could not regenerate its health…
Such a technique was neither easy nor difficult per se. It was achievable by many experts. However, anyone who could achieve such a thing was definitely not a newbie.
"What do we do now?" Fated Sky asked July worriedly. "Someone is indeed fighting the boss monster and he is a highly-skilled expert. At this rate, we will reap no benefits!"
"Let's Party up with him!" July gritted her pearly-white teeth and thought for a while. "Three people would kill the monster faster compared to doing it solo. Tell him that we would be willing to purchase any Skill Books we could use from the loot. The rest will belong to him!"
"Alright, we will do that!" Fated Sky nodded.
The two of them ran toward Fatty, making sure to stop a fair distance away to prevent any misunderstandings. Then, they sent Fatty a party invitation.
"Fated Sky and July request to Party up with you. Party Mode: distribution by the leader!"
Fatty was a little nervous when he saw the two of them running towards him. When he received the party invitation, he was momentarily shocked.
According to the system, if Person A invited Person B to team up, the leader would automatically be the latter. In other words, Fated Sky and July wanted to let Fatty be the leader.
They had chosen, and were therefore willing, to let the loot distribution be decided by the leader.
This was a very friendly invitation and a clear indication of their sincerity. After all, all that they could receive after killing the boss monster was a small amount of EXP should Fatty refuse to share the loot with them.
Anyone else would have accepted this party invitation happily, for the efficiency of three people versus one person was quite significant. In addition, if other parties appeared later on, he would be able to deal with them more easily.
However, Fated Sky and July had unfortunately encountered Fatty.
Fatty instantly recognized July when he approached them and saw her features.
"Luo Moling? Holy cow! Why is it this chick again?" exclaimed Fatty in his study. The speaker button on his earpiece needed to be pressed if he wished to speak in the game. Hence, the two of them did not hear him.
Luo Moling probably played the game through electroencephalography, so all her facial features were scanned and replicated. Moreover, she probably had not changed much about her appearance, which was why Fatty could recognize her so easily.
Fatty had not expected that his neighbor, Luo Moling, would play the Chaotic Era as well! This was a fact he had never known despite being neighbors with her for four years previously.
There was indeed a reason that Luo Moling and Fatty's relationship was bad. In the past, Fatty had also not been doing well in the game, which had prevented him from having any interactions with her in the game…
However, upon seeing Luo Moling again, Fatty could not help but recall the six insults Luo Moling had thrown at him and the slap she had given him before he had time-traveled.
As for why Luo Moling hated him so much… Their relationship would not have been so bad if he had not peeped at her bathing. Fatty had never once pondered the reason for, in his opinion, peeping was not a big deal.
Admittedly, Fatty could sometimes be very hard to understand.
Due to the aforementioned reasons, Fatty's pettiness exploded when he discovered that Luo Moling wanted to team up with him.
"Well, well… Was slapping me not enough? Now, you've got to bring your secret lover to kill-steal my monster?" Fatty treated Fated Sky as Luo Moling's boyfriend, which made him feel enraged. After all, Fatty had once treated this beautiful neighbor as his own… Now, he felt like the green-hat (cuckold) fella chasing him at the moment…
Hence, Fatty decided to take revenge and rejected the invitation!
Fated Sky and July were stunned. Perhaps they had never expected Fatty to reject them so quickly. Before they could come back to their senses, Fatty had already lured the 5-Star Goblin and headed toward them!
"Aiya! Oh no!" exclaimed Fated Sky before hastily trying to evade him. He had not expected Fatty's character to change direction suddenly, concurrently blocking his path of retreat.
Fated Sky had nowhere to go. Fatty moved out of the way as the 5-Star Goblin charged over and smashed down Fated Sky!
Being a Death Knight, Fated Sky's Physical Armor points were significantly higher than those of Fatty, who was a Warlock. Unexpectedly, however, a slash of the Goblin caused Fated Sky to lose 65 HP, the same amount of damage Fatty suffered!
Fatty was stunned as well. What was going on?
July hastily took action when she saw the high damage Fated Sky had sustained. A Burning Skill accurately hit the Goblin.
The Goblin retaliated, of course. July made a mistake by attacking first before increasing the distance between her and the Goblin. Thus, it simply leaped and slashed down again.
Fatty grew excited upon seeing this. Holy cow, Luo Moling was actually in the same Warlock Class as him. He was able to withstand the Goblin's attack because he had added two points to his Constitution, but Luo Moling most likely had not. In other words, she would be killed!
However, what happened next was unexpected. She only lost 32 HP after suffering this blow!
Even Fated Sky was stupefied. As a Death Knight, he had sustained more than 60 HP of damage, but Luo Moling, who had a low physical defense, had lost less!
Fatty, who was seated behind the controller, smacked his forehead, finally understanding the Goblin's Stats. The prefix "Grievous" had to be something very unique that caused 100% damage to male creatures!
In other words, male players would suffer 100% damage regardless of their Defense or equipment! The Goblin might be treating all male creatures as the reason it was wearing a green hat (thus becoming a cuckold)…
This was the first time Fatty had ever heard of these unique Stats… He was curious to see who had actually configured this…
He did not know that the prefixes and Stats of 5-Star monsters were all randomly given by the system. Such unique Stats appeared rarely, so it was all thanks to Fatty's good luck that he had encountered this combination…
Despite losing only 32 HP, this was still a very dangerous situation for the Pyromancer. Fated Sky hastily lured the Goblin back to him to prevent Luo Moling from being attacked again.
However, it was only when they started attacking the boss monster that they finally realized that it was not as easy a feat as Fatty had made it seem…
The reason was simply its special Stats! Fated Sky was a male player, which rendered his high Defense useless against this 5-Star Goblin.
There seemed to be no better way to kill this boss monster other than a slow grind, just like Fatty had done with the toxin.
This was the fate of the Apostle Race. There were no Priests in the offered Class, so players had no means of healing if they remained in their starting village. Fated Sky's health was completely gone following the second attack of the Goblin.
Panicked, he spotted Fatty, who was watching languidly from the side. He copied his actions, luring the Goblin toward him.
"Yes! Give it back to him!" July gritted her teeth in full approval of Fated Sky's actions.
Then, something astounding happened when Fated Sky successfully lured the Goblin to Fatty.
Fatty's character blocked the path again… He had to be having fun. He had altered his character to look plumper, but even he had not expected that his body size would come in useful when it came to blocking paths!
Fated Sky wanted to move to the side when he reached Fatty. However, due to the broadness of Fatty's body, he failed and endured an attack from the Goblin behind him.
Fated Sky was only at Level 4 and would lose more than 60 HP for every attack he endured. There was no way he had enough health to sustain three attacks.
Thus, Fated Sky died…
The 5-Star Goblin then targeted Fatty, who was well-prepared. He immediately started running. By the time the Goblin started moving after pausing following the finished attack, Fatty was more than two steps away from it.
An evil grin appeared on Fatty's face. While controlling his character, he ran toward Luo Moling!
He did not play the game using electroencephalography, so Fatty's smile did not appear on his character's face. In other words, his character's facial expression remained cold, looking completely heartless.
Luo Moling froze on the spot when she saw this expression. By the time the thought of running crossed her mind, it was already too late. Fatty ran behind her and blocked her path of retreat, leaving her defenseless against the Goblin…
Fatty was very proud that he had actually managed to kill two players by making use of a boss monster, as PK was not allowed in the current stage of the game. Upon seeing that the Goblin was only left with less than 30% of its health, he quickly started attacking again…
