Chapter 34 - Sale

Argus shot another glance at Sean, lasting for a good 3 seconds before he turned away in disdain. "I'm too busy forging Guard Sets for Old Gryan, I don't have time for you. What kind of huge business deal would a little brat you have? Go play somewhere else, I don't have any sweets for you here."

Sean went ballistic, mentally trying to figure out which of his body parts made him look like a little brat. Was it his eyes or mouth?

Fine, he might be pretty young, but surely, not at the level of a little brat? He was at least a young man, right? Old grandpa Argus sure had bad eyesight.

Sean made no secret of his displeasure. He lifted a leg to walk away, but not without mumbling under his breath. "I guess he doesn't want top quality Scales and Naga Scales. What an idiot to reject a huge deal..."

Before he could finish, a loud bang was heard and a tall and sturdy man suddenly appeared in Sean's line of vision. It was Blacksmith Argus. This guy, after throwing his hammer onto his desk, had run towards Sean and blocked his way in less than 2 seconds.

There was more to him than meets the eye!

Taken aback, Sean cast Appraisal Sight on Argus and discovered that the guy was a Class Level 6 Mid Rank Warrior with a towering Level 8 for his Combat Level. Who would have known?

"Little guy, what did you say? Do you have Naga Scales? For real?"

Sean was startled by Argus but quickly came to grips with the importance of Naga Scales to Argus. Well, if such high quality materials were used to forge scale armor, it would at least be Blue Quality armor. Argus was definitely inspired.

However, Sean was unhappy about the contempt Argus had shown him. Hence, he shook his head. "You heard wrongly. I don't have any Naga Scales. What is a Naga Scale by the way? Can it be eaten? I've never heard of such a thing."

Sean was ready to leave and had started joking around.

Nevertheless, Argus coldly smirked, "Little guy, I don't care where you obtained your Naga Scales but I can tell you that nobody in Goldshire, except for me, can handle or accept them. Are you planning to save them for your old age?"

At these words, Sean was infuriated. "You're old! Your whole family is old! I'm younger than 15 years old, alright? Anyway, I'm not selling any longer, you're not the boss of me!"

Having failed his scare tactics, Argus immediately adopted a cheeky demeanor. "Haha, don't act like that, little brother. I was at fault earlier, just think of it as gibberish, okay? Look, sell the Naga Scales to me. We can talk about price..."

Who would say no to money?

Moreover, besides Argus', Sean had nowhere to sell the Naga Scales. Hence, he stopped in his tracks and turned to face Argus with a doubtful look. "We can talk about price? You're not going to con me, are you? The memory of you deceiving Sir Gryan yesterday is still fresh on my mind!"

Despite having been exposed, Argus was not furious at all. It was plain to see that the thickness of his skin had surpassed that of a wild boar and reached the level of a wild rhino.

Argus pulled Sean over and patted on his chest. "Little brother, you should hear what others have to say about me, a Grandmaster Blacksmith! Everyone calls me the pure, kind-hearted Argus! Little brother, little brother, don't you worry, I won't con you!"

Blinking his eyes, Sean was sceptical. "You're really not going to con me? I heard things about you that say otherwise! I'll have you know that I came with Old Man Saldean and I know Sir Gryan! Don't try to lie to me!"

Argus swiftly smiled obsequiously. "Haha, no way! You're the child fostered by Old Saldean? Let me tell you, I'm good friends with Old Saldean. I'm the one that made his farming tools! Relax, I will treat you properly!"

Sean gave it a thought and figured Argus would not dare try him before answering, "Alright then, wait right here. I'll bring the stuff over."

Argus. "..."

After a while, Sean rode on a horse carriage from Lion Pride's Inn, bringing a carriage of items with him.

Argus went gung-ho over the sight of a carriage full of items. His jaw dropped wide open. "This-this many Naga Scales?"

Sean curled his lips. "Nah! You think I ransacked a whole Naga Lair? It's mostly Murloc Scales on the carriage, only a handful are Naga Scales."

Sean grabbed a bag from the carriage and handed it over to Argus. "Here you go. Along with 120 Naga Scales, there's also two Naga Claws and a Naga Hide."

Upon receiving the bag, Argus pulled it open.

Naga Scales, the size of palms, shone with a dazzling light. Each scale had a flow of powerful Mana.

Stroking the Naga Scales, Argus abruptly lifted his head and said, "Little brother, where did you obtain these? I don't recall any Nagas around here."

Sean lifted his brow. "I happened to pick them up, alright?"

Argus replied, "Okay okay, wherever you got them, that's none of my business. Great stuff, this is great stuff. Look at these scales, smooth and firm. There's also Mana circulation on them. They are top notch materials! The two claws can be made into claw-like fist weapons. This hide is perfect for leather armor. It's a shame I'm not a Leatherworker..."

Sean cried, "Let me say this first, these items, along with the carriage of Murloc Scales are being sold as a set. Nothing can be left out."

Of course Sean was going to sell everything as a set. Otherwise, where was he going to sell the Naga Hide?

The only Leatherworker and Skinner in Goldshire was an oddball. Sean was worried that he might be skinned if he were to sell the item there. It was said that the Skinner skinned children alive...

Though Argus was unopposed to the idea, he felt it was beneath him. "The carriage of Murloc Scales isn't worth much. A Copper Coin each... As for these Naga Scales, 10 Silver a piece. What do you say? And these two claws..."

"Hold up, hold up, I'm not selling anymore!" Sean cut Argus off and fastened the bag, preparing to leave.

Who was he kidding!

These were Skoda the Murloc Defender's scales, not some average Naga Scales. Its peer, Slardar the Murloc Defender was a famous Naga Hero and although Skoda was inferior, it did not lag far behind.

Its Combat Level was at least Level 10!

Without the thousands of Hungry Crabs in Murloc Shallow charging ahead, unafraid of the danger, would Sean have been able to finish Skoda off?

These scales were 10 Silver a piece?

No deal! No deal!

Argus was flustered by Sean's firm attitude. He pulled Sean aside and smiled apologetically. "There's room for negotiations. There's always room for negotiations. How about 20 Silver? Oh, no, my bad, my bad. 30 Silver, 30 Silver! Don't leave! 40 Silver, 40 Silver it is! I'm losing money here! It won't be worth that much even after it's forged into scale armor... Alright, an honest price, 50 Silver a piece! I can't go higher than that!"
