Chapter 3 - The Gate of Spacetime

Light broke from the east as morning dawned on Westfall.

There was a youngster, aged roughly fifteen or sixteen, half-lying on a rattan chair as he enjoyed the cool breeze coming from Elwynn Forest, which with it carried the hint of fragrance from some flowers.

The youngster had a pair of light blue eyes. They were brimming with energy. His ears were sharper than an average joe and his skin was much fairer than the commoners. He also had a head of beautiful golden hair.

There were no cars, no neon lighting, no tiles, no bricks, no cement, nor tall walls. There were only single-story houses, vast farms, and Volatile or Gentle Elementals, which possess strong but barely detectable mysterious power.

This was no longer Earth. It was Azeroth.

Sean had been trying his best to get used to this world ever since he arrived. He had been collecting information about this world from the people around him. As he merged this information with the fifteen years' worth of memory that resided within him, Sean had a vague understanding of his current situation.

He was currently in Westfall, a wilderness ruled by Stormwind City of the Human Kingdom. The place was desolated and would often be invaded by Murlocs that came from the sea. Gnolls were scattered about all over the map and had filled the place with their stench. The south of Moonbrook had been taken over by the Defias Brotherhood. All of Westfall was in chaos.

Sentinel Hill, located at the center of the map, and a few farms, including Salden's Farm, were the last few safe havens in Westfall.

The owners of the farm, the Saldeans, having lost their son, had decided to be kind by assisting the weak and elderly, people who had no place to return to… This included untrustworthy bandits. The host body Sean had taken over was one of the orphans taken in by Elder Saldean.

A few days ago, a Dwarf fugitive had arrived with the latest news. The Gnomish city, Gnomeregan, had fallen due to betrayal. Radiation that had been sealed away leaked out, causing the city to be uninhabitable. Approximately 80% of the Gnomes had died because of this incident and the remaining Gnomes had no choice but to flee. Under High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque's lead, they fled to the Bronzebeard Dwarves' Ironforge.

It was then that Sean realized that it had been 24 years since the opening of the Dark Portal!

To Sean, the Lich King, Deathwing, and the Old Gods were still too far away to matter. They were not beings Sean needed to take note of at the moment. Furthermore, nothing major would happen to Stormwind City for the next two years. This excluded King Varian, but the king had nothing to do with Sean.

What would truly affect Sean was Westfall.

Westfall was currently being invaded by three terrifying forces - Murlocs, Gnolls, and the Defias Brotherhood. This made life at Saldean's Farm rather unsafe. It was rather unrealistic to rely on the Saldeans and a group of homeless people to protect Saldean's Farm.

"That's why I said that the only person I can rely on to live a comfortable and happy life is myself!"

Sean sighed as he shut his eyes.

Starlight appeared in his mind and, spurred on by Sean's will, gradually expanded, forming a wasteland.

This place was around the size of Saldean's Farm. However, there was no farm nor fields, ony rubble and dried dirt.

This was Sean's benefit for transmigrating to this world.

At the same time, an illusory Control Panel appeared in Sean's mind.

There were big blood-red characters fixed at the very top of the Control Panel. It was also the Ultimate Quest, bound to the Transmigrator for the rest of his life. The quest was to upgrade the Spatial Garrison into God's Garrison.

Who the f*ck knew what exactly God's Garrison was?!

The only thing Sean knew was that this wasteland he had been given was called the Spatial Garrison. It was a unique space, independent of the planet Azeroth. Although there was nothing at this point in time, he would be able to construct all types of miraculous Facilities as long as he had enough Garrison Resources. Furthermore, as the Facilities increased in number, Sean and the garrison's Level would increase as well.

Sean was the person with the highest authority in the Spatial Garrison.

The garrison was currently at Level 0 and his goal was to increase the garrison to Level 1.

Sean could only build one Facility when his garrison was at Level 0. That was the Town Hall. He would be able to build other Facilities when he had built a Level 1 Town Hall.

However, Sean had a strong urge to curse when he saw the resources needed to build a Level 1 Town Hall.

The Town Hall was the core Facility of the Spatial Garrison. It was the place where the Garrison Commander gave his orders. It was also a compulsory Facility, needed to increase the Spatial Garrison's Level. The Garrison Resources required for a Level 1 Town Hall were 100 Wood, 100 Leather, and 100 Stone.

There were only three resources and yet Sean was having a headache.

The resources required in the Spatial Garrison could be acquired from the real world.

One matured tree was equivalent to one Wood.

A good quality boulder was equivalent to one Stone.

Leather from the hide of an entire adult goat would be equivalent to one Leather.

In order to collect the required resources to build a Level 1 Town Hall, Sean might just have to tear Saldean's Farm apart!

That was not all.

In order to convert the real world resources into Garrison Resources, Sean would need to expend Mental Energy as well.

According to Sean's experiments, he would fall into a deep sleep after converting 5 points worth of Garrison Resources. He would sleep soundly for at least 8 hours before he woke up.

This meant that even if Sean was able to rip apart the entirety of Saldean's Farm, assuming he did not need to eat or drink, he would need at least a week to transform everything into Garrison Resources!

He could not just give up on eating and drinking.

Sean, as a member of Saldean's Farm, did not eat and drink for free. He had to pay in hard labor. Out of 24 hours in a day, he needed to do at least 8 hours of labor. He was required to do field work, patrol the area, and even fend off any invaders...

Sean did not have much time left after he was done with everything!

Even if Sean really could tear the entire Saldean's Farm down, he would need at least a month to build the Level 1 Town Hall.

Fortunately, God would not put Transmigrator at a disadvantage.

In a certain corner of the deserted Spatial Garrison lay an illusory Light Gate.

It was the Legendary Facility - The Gate of Spacetime.

As long as he put in the required amount of Garrison Resources, he would be able to build a one-time-use Gate of Spacetime. It would send Sean to a unique space similar to a Dungeon.

This was a benefit granted to Transmigrators. It was one of three Legendary Facilities given by the Spatial Garrison that Sean could choose from when he transmigrated to this world.

He could only pick one out of the three.

He would obtain a specific curse in response to his choice. This was the price Sean had to pay for early access to a Legendary Facility. That was because according to the standard procedure, Sean had to increase his Spatial Garrison by multiple Levels before he could build a Legendary Facility.

The Five Dragonflight's Lair was able to nurture Dragons, Drakonid, and Wyrmkins. The curse that would follow him to his grave was Fury of the Dragons, which caused all Dragon species in Azeroth to see Sean as an enemy.

The Titan's Research and Quarantine Facility was able to produce Titan-forged and Titanic Devices. However, its eternal curse was known as Titan's Divine Punishment. It would cause any Titan-forged to see Sean as an enemy.

The Gate of Spacetime possessed the power to travel through space and time. Naturally, this would disrupt Azeroth's timeline. Hence, Sean would be hunted by the Bronze Dragonflight, the wardens of time. The curse that would only leave when he died was called Nozdormu's Watch, was equally troublesome.

The three had their own pros and cons and Sean had chosen the Gate of Spacetime.
