At the Mayo Clinic, Mu Tao stared blankly at the web page on the laptop in front of him.
There was a huge earthquake in his hometown. On the other side of the world, he could not feel any tremors but his heart was aching.
When the earthquake happened, it was past two in the morning. Mu Tao had just fallen asleep.
When he woke up and found out about the news, plenty of it had already appeared on the Internet. He looked at the various news that appeared on the laptop screen and was stunned for a long time.
Without hesitation, he calculated what time it was and picked up the phone.
"Teacher, I want to go back to China," Mu Tao said firmly. "Okay, I'll book the nearest plane ticket. I want to go to the frontline. Is there no civil aviation there anymore?"
"Then I'll have to trouble you," Mu Tao said. "I'm really sorry. After such a thing happened, I really can't convince myself to continue staying at Mayo Clinic."
