Chapter 12 - Memories Of Ghosts...

When Jessica was a little girl, Aiden would bump into all kinds of things. As the main excuse, it would be told off as a ghost so Aiden or her wouldn't get in trouble.

If the cookies on the plater went missing, a ghost did it. If a vase broke, a ghost did it. Whatever the problem the scapegoat was always a ghost.

This had gotten so bad that her mother even brought home a Priest one day to exercise it away. Of corse, this didn't work, but Aiden was sure to be more careful in the future. Thus, less things went missing or broke.

Back to the present situation...

Firstly, Jessica would have to play along with her mother's current state for a bit. She didn't want the change in topic to be all of a sudden. She had to make it seem as natural as possible if this was going to work.

I mean, she couldn't just blurt out, "Mom the ghost is back." Right? No! That'd be crazy! It wouldn't work out in the end.

"Mom, you're not going upstairs. Especially not when you can barely stand up." Jesica stated.

"Nonsense! There's something there. I'm sure I bumped into something!" Didn't you see what happened?" Her mother replied.

"No mom. By the time I got in here you were already on the floor." Jessica tried to seem worried. "Are you sure you're okay?" She continued.

Her mother's eyes bulged. "Do you think-?" She stuttered. No it couldn't be the ghost could it? Right?

"Mom! Did you hear that? It sounds like something is in the kitchen. Is that the ghost? Is it back again?"

Jesica began to fuel the frantic thoughts that were surely going through her mother's head right now. She hoped it didn't get her as paranoid as before. She didn't want any more rituals done in her room.

"Come on, Mom. Let's go sit on the couch. Maybe it'll go away again soon."

Jesica was hoping her mother would move over to the living area and away from the stairwell. If her mom even tapped Aiden, all her efforts now would be for nothing!

Slowly but surely, her mother stood up. She was trembling so badly, Jessica had to help her walk. It made her feel kinda bad.

She always hated this feeling as a kid, but this was different. She wasn't so little anymore. She should've known better by now. Well, I guess she was just the same as ever. Will things ever change?

"Now that Mom is on the sofa, she won't be able to see the stairs or anything in that area at all." Jessica thought to herself.

"I'm glad that's over, now to find out if Aiden is ok."

And so she began to walk back out of the living room area towards the stairs.
