Amidst protests from Mo Ning, Shen Mucheng took her to the hospital and after they redressed her wounds professionally, prescribed some medications and assured him over and over again at the hospital that she was alright and didn't need to be admitted did he finally relax.
He drove directly to Mo Ning's apartment from the hospital even though all he desperately wanted to do was take her to his own home and lock her up so she wouldn't invite trouble to herself any longer.
From the first moment he met her, she had always been enveloped in danger. From one person to another which makes him wonder if she somehow had a trouble magnet hidden somewhere within her body that made so many people want to go against her or was it an invisible sign saying ' you can trouble me I'm available ' hung on her forehead, he just couldn't tell which was there and which wasn't!
He just knew that it was very frustrating and anger inducing to watch different people want to trample on the very woman he wanted so badly to protect.
It was frustrating because no matter what she did, she always seemed to invite trouble.
And anger inducing because who wouldn't be constantly in the angry bird role when you always feel like crushing everyone around her that could cause her harm but at the same time, always need to exercise self restraint because of the fear hidden deep within that she might resent you when she finds out you where the one who had gone on a killing spree eradicating everyone even though you did it for her.
What can be harder than that?
By the time they got to the parking lot of the apartment, Mo Ning was already fast asleep unaware of the disturbing thoughts the person seating beside her had,and in a bid to not disturb her from her rest that he was so sure she needed badly because of how much she overworked herself and the straining day she just had, he got down from the car and carried her princess style to the elevator with her assistant trailing behind them.
Shen Mucheng left the apartment as soon as he made sure she was lying in bed and tucked in.
When he got to his car, he didn't go in directly but retrieved a pack of cigarettes from the secret compartment in the car and lit one.
He didn't know of any other way to get rid of his current frustrations apart from smoking them away. He knew that he was the one who had rejected the idea of been in a relationship with her because of his own fears but now, he didn't know what to feel anymore.
Should he feel relief that she was safe now? Or should he feel fear that no matter where she is, as long as she is connected with him even as a friend, she might be in danger even though she is unaware?
