Every hour, the chains were lowered and every half hour, the duck tape on his mouth was pried open for if he wanted to say something and in the absence of anything to say, the tape is put back in place.
A continuous process which was enough to drive one crazy! If you were on the receiving end that is.
After four hours of lowering Si Muyan down towards the tank of boiling oil, he finally began to feel real fear. Although he had been scared the first time Zhou Ting had said that they could do whatever to him,he had managed calm down at that time by telling himself that the man was bluffing because he would at least not let any harm come to him or kill him since he still needed to hand him over to the police but he didn't seem so sure right now since he was almost in the tank and they didn't seem to want to let him go.
Not seeing any other way out, Si Muyan decided that if at the last minute they still won't release him and instead attempt to lower him down into the tank, he would talk and consequences be damned!
He knew that if he doesn't talk at that point, he would end up dead and if he ended up talking he would still be killed by his employer.
But he also knew that if he confessed now, he would still have a chance of keeping his life even though he had to spend a couple of years in prison but by then his employer might already be rotting away in prison and then he can go back to his normal life.
A life where he would try everything possible to steer clear of criminals.
