Left with no choice, she opened her mouth and ate the food Zhao Caijing fed her. As she chewed the food, she could feel her cheeks beginning to heat up and her heart beat going hay wire.
" Alright, I know now that you dare. Give me the lunch box I'll eat by myself. "
" I'll give it to you only if you promise to finish the food. So promise?" He asked trying to hide the disappointment he felt from not feeding her all the way with a smile.
"Promise. Now hand it over. " She said stretching out her hand to receive the lunch box making her reddened cheeks visible to Zhao Caijing. His earlier disappointment was gone and now he felt a little satisfaction.
He was the one who made her blush.
Maybe deciding to stay by her side wasn't a bad idea after all, he thought before grabbing the second lunch box. When he raised his head again, he could no longer see her cheeks because they had been covered by her hair. Without a word, he began to eat occasionally glancing at the person in front of him.
In no time, he finished his food and the took both lunch boxes which were already empty and went to the washroom to wash them. He came out to see Zhou Ling still seated in the same position he left her in appearing to be deep in thought.
He walked to her side and put his hands around her shoulders which made her jump in shock.
"It's alright it's just me. "
" My God! You gave me a scare. You seem to be rather handsy today. " She said as she tried to calm her raising heart from the scare she just received. He was flustered when he heard her words but he tried to control himself so as not to net anything slip.
" Quit trying to find excuses for your absent mindedness. Go take a shower so you can have a change of clothes and then I'll bring this set back. "
" Alright, I'll go wash up. Wait for me a while. " Zhou Ling said as she took the bag he brought with the lunch boxes and went into the washroom."
Left to his own devices, he began to recall the events that took place since he stepped in through the door.
To many, that was not something to be proud of, but he himself knew that since he had worked for her, this was the first time he felt close to expressing his feelings.
The last time, he had to watch her cry her heart out when she broke up with her cheating scumbag of a boyfriend. At that time, he had felt like his heart was being ripped apart, it took a lot to control the urge to tell her to just marry him so she wouldn't have to go through something like that; but he knew that if at that time, he had told her, he would have lost her forever which made him keep his cool and give her a shoulder to cry on and to his surprise and delight, she returned to work the next day and since then, she had never dated anyone else.
